This is a great new spot north of State Bridge road and 141. It feels very homely and comfortable. There is a table top piano and some very fancy furniture including some super comfortable couches. Very friendly staff and a really laid back and relaxed feel. The lady at the counter took a very artisanal approach and gave us some nice samples. I would recommend getting the "Naigai" series. Love the location and happy that there is finally a good boba place in Johns Creek! I've tried the original Greatea (basically black milk tea with boba and condensed milk swirled around the cup) and their Superfruit Tea (fruit tea with lots of fresh fruit! Like watermelon, apples, blueberries, oranges, etc. The cup was also super cool with a special lid that allows you to drink the tea without the fruit chunks clogging up the sippy hole). Both drinks were pretty good and the boba was fresh. They also serve naigai aka "milkcap" drinks with speciality teas. Locally-owned and the owners are great. They will really help you out with the menu, answer any questions, and even provide samples if you want to sample before buying. Interior is simple, but cute, with inspirational quotes, wall decals, and adorable zebra curtains that hang over the windows. Not a big store, but ample seating during the week. Though it does get crowded on weekend nights so if you come with a big crowd you might not be able to find seats! Overall, not my favorite boba place in the area (Kungfu Tea is still my personal favorite), but would come back just because for the location and wonderful service. I would probably consider their fruit teas their signature item, but definitely try those! Definitely an investment at nearly $6 a pop though. read more

Greatea is my favorite milk tea in the city. I go to other places more frequently because I simply don't live close by enough, but if I'm hanging out with family or my parents I do like to stop by. My go-to order is the Greatea, the house special. It's a black milk tea that is served with a thick yellow cream drizzled across the inside of the cup. This is a less sweet milk tea, and has a strong black tea flavor that is very well complemented by the cream. I haven't found any other place in Atlanta quite like it. There is almost always a 5-10 minute wait to get the drink, as I have noticed, but I don't care. It's very authentic, and although I can't speak as to where exactly the owners are from, the signs are in Mandarin (also named the equivalent "Great Tea" in the language). I've also noticed over the couple of times that I have been that they have reduced their selection- I guess because of things not selling as well. They used to have bubble waffles but not anymore. The inside is small yet nicely decorated and is almost always full of people hanging out. Parking is ample because of the large plaza that it is in but be careful because the crowd is somewhat younger sometimes and I have spotted reckless driving. Anyway, never change Greatea. I think Greatea has the BEST bubble tea in the greater Atlanta area! They include a custard-like cream with their drinks that take it to a different level. Ice and sugar are adjustable, as always. It may be a little slower than the bigger boba places (I don't know how many machines they have, but they just have two sealers and I have to wait a little longer for my drinks than, say, Tea Top), but it is 100% worth the wait. Buy 10 drinks & get 2 free? Score! I like Greatea because of their large cups. It looks like higher class bubble tea haha So far I have tried their fruit tea & their mango cheese drink. I really enjoyed their mango cheese drink. Sounds gross but freaking delicious. I promise you that it doesn't taste like cheese. The flavors are mixed so well. The fruit tea is good choice when you are looking for a healthier alternative, but you can easily make that yourself at home. Drinks are priced around $5. No minimum for credit cards. Thank Goodness. This review was suppose to be written months ago but a lot has things have happened but it's time for an updated review because Greatea has expanded their menu after listening to their customers which is why I love this place! Honestly, I think this place is the only place that has such an extensive menu which gives a lot of customers so many options to choose from. I do like their Tiramisu series especially the Tiramisu Class milk tea. It has a hint of Tiramisu, not overwhelming, and the sweetness is just right but if you prefer less sweet, you can always ask Lydia (the owner) to adjust for you. Honestly, I do still go back to the original menu that they had since the beginning because it's my go to drinks. Besides trying the Tiramisu one, I have also tried the Super Greatea w/the 5 toppings and let me tell you. This drink is good if you haven't had lunch because after taking 5 sips, I was full because of the amount of toppings in there! You can always omit a topping if you don't like it, just let the owner know. My friends have tried the passion fruit yakult and double strawberries. They are never disappointed with Greatea's drink. The couple who owns this business is so sweet and friendly! They go out of their way to explain the menu and are always adding new items to it. I love their rose oolong naigai. The foam at the top is very creamy and flavorful, and the tea at the bottom is so light and refreshing! I love it so much that I almost never branch out and get other things, but I take sips of my friends' drinks when I go with them and they're always very yummy too. One thing that I thought was pretty different is their taro bubble tea. It's made with actual taro, not powder, so the consistency is thicker and there's actual chunks of taro. It sounds weird, but is actually really good! They also started offering non-dairy options for their milk teas now, so great news for lactose intolerant folks! read more

I've been through and passed the peak of my bubble tea obsession, but this place rekindled it -- and now I'm always craving Greatea. I love love the taro tea here because it's REAL TARO-- NOT powder. I get it with less sugar, and replace the boba with something else like grass jelly or lychee jelly. I'm not a fan of boba, but the ones here are actually really soft and chewy, and I surprisingly liked them. Awesome spot! It's very tiny and has only about 5 distinct sitting areas, but most of the business is foot traffic going in and out. I don't think its a very study-friendly spot. I like their fruit teas. I think the concept of fresh fruit packed into iced tea is fairly new to the metro area, and they've done it right. The most popular is the grapefruit version, which I enjoyed and was surprised at the absence of bitterness. I also tried their rose tea. The setup is so cute, and it wasn't as perfumy tasting as most rose teas I've tried. Still not my thing, but I give them props for sourcing good quality tea leaves. I read that the Taro bubble tea is a good choice for first timers. The woman that took my order was really nice and told me their taro is made fresh which sounded good to me. They take a lot of effort to make every cup of tea which the tea is not made from powder. It's convenient to park because they have a lot of parking spots. In addition, they have a very comfortable and clean place where you can hang out with your friends. The sofas there are very comfortable. I recommend Super Fruits Tea which is my favorite and it is really good for summer. The fruit in the cup is very fresh, so that you can drink the tea first and eat the fruit afterwards. What about the price of this place? The price is about $3 or $4 for one cup of tea Which is a little more expensive than other places, but I think it worth a cup of better quality tea. I don't know why it's taken me so long to write this review. It is wayyy overdue. I know, I have a lot of check-ins here but if I had a choice you would find me checked in at KFT or Ding tea! My boyfriend and a lot of my friends like it here because of how milky and creamy their milk teas are. It is SOOOO milky that I don't know how people finish a large. I always order the Greatea in a small, with 25%sweet. I nearly want to vomit after drinking the small cup because it's just too creamy. So last time we were here I opted to not get any of their tea. Why keep drinking something if it makes you sick right? Anyways, I'll continue coming here whenever my group of friend go but I don't think I will be drinking anything from the menu. This shop is small with not a lot of seating area. You want to go early and maybe just grab it and go. Their drinks take awhile to come out too because only two people make the drinks. The closest bubble tea to me since I've moved. Although they are slightly pricier than what I'm use to it, it's ok, because their drinks are pretty good. They don't have a lot of topping selections. The fruittea, crack lemon, and greatea milk tea are my favorites. But I gotta get less sweet for the milk tea or else it'd be wayyy too sweet for me.
