He worked so hard to try and save my little Rusty and I will forever be grateful to the kindness and attentiveness he gave Rusty in his final days. I have since switched my remaining pets over to this clinic and it is all because of the competent and gentle care my fur baby received when I felt helpless.

But not only was he professional in his diagnosis, but he really cared for me. He and his staff expressed sympathy for me as I left his office. I highly recommend him to anyone who has a dog and needs a veterinarian! Dennis J

Absolutely heartbreaking interaction earlier today. This clinic is heartless and scams you out of…read moreyour money, with little to no regard for how you feel. Brought a dying kitten in to see what could be done. Dr. Hoffman assessed the kitten and basically resorted to the fees that it would cost immediately with no empathy of the situation. Told us that "he would say" the kitten is in pain, that we "would have to pay for an in-office visit" despite just bringing her in to be put down in the end, and didn't offer any kind of sympathy or apology when told that $65 for euthanizing the kitten was more than was in the bank. Took our money and gave us the dead kitten. Nurses didn't care, either, and didn't offer a word to us. I made this account just so I could leave a one-star. Do NOT take your animals here. You will be given poor support, charged for every penny they legally can, and won't even tell you so much as sorry as you leave.

When I call with questions the staff is always concerned and if they can't answer my question they will either find the answer or make an appointment with Dr. Wolgamott. We have boarded our dogs there one time with no problems. The office is clean, they have dogs behind the counter sprawled in their doggy beds or barking a greeting to us. The groomer room is clean. We have our dogs groomed there monthly.

The second, my dog contracted ring worm from her stay with Heartland. My husband called to confront them about the ring worm and they quietly dismissed it without so much as an apology. I, of course, was not about to take her back to them for treatment! Bad business practice to allow an otherwise healthy dog to come into contact with an unhealthy contagious animal (the lobby is filled with various dogs and a shedding sleepy cat that is permitted to roam freely), especially if the intent is to generate business by making a healthy animal sick in order to then treat it. I am extremely disappointed in the cleanliness and the lack of professional decorum here at Heartland Animal Hospital, and will not be trusting them with the care and safety of our animals again! I would further discourage anyone else from trusting their animals with this vet either, especially since ring worm is going around the clinic unacknowledged. Who knows what other diseases and contagions are floating around their unsanitary establishment? Better safe than sorry in this instance.
