This square is really boring and quiet all the time. This is quite a shame because it would make an ideal place for some cool bars and feels like it could develop into a cool little area for nights out. Its also not the shape of a square, so its conning everyone.
Situated literally seconds walk from Deansgate in the direction of Piccadilly, it should be an ideal location. Unfortunately, the bars that have set up here, apart from one, are very disappointing. This exception is Taps, where you get to POUR your own beer and leave POOR because its expensive.
There are several closed down bars and restaurants here too, so it could be that attempts to make the area popular have failed. As for the sunken grassy patch as seen on the photo, I don't know who came up with it or who thought it was a good idea, but I don't like them.
