It took 6 phone calls to receive a credit on a service I wasn't able to use but had paid for and even then, they didn't refund the full price. It seems out of laziness; no one would look up my original order number I kept giving them, so they just credited the base amount. After that experience, I'm glad I didn't use them for all of my floors that I am planning soon. read more

Living just up the hill from Great Floors we decided to stop in one afternoon to start looking into our carpet project. We were impressed with the sales associate (Harvey B.), felt he was very knowledgeable, friendly and no-pressure. After returning home and checking online for reviews about both the carpet and Great Floors we were shocked to find such terrible/mixed reviews. Needless to say we then had some serious reservations about doing business with Great Floors at that point. We decided to get a quote from the blue and orange big box stores - after receiving back their quote, we were surprised by several things: the amount of carpet over our actual square footage they quoted (25% overage), fees, and the cost of the pad and haul away. The comparable carpet that we had first selected at great floors was special order at the orange store, taking 3 weeks for delivery.. With our concerns and the quote in hand we went back to Harvey - he assured us that if there was any issue with the install, we would be better off with Great floors since the other stores contact out the work, and that they could beat the price. He worked with us on the install timing, price, and materials at every stage to make sure we were choosing exactly what we wanted and felt good about the price. Installers Petr and crew were fabulous - our house has a lot of odd angles and we can't see a single seam. They were on-time, very friendly, professional and left our house perfectly vacuumed. We are completely happy with our experience at great floors and would recommend them to friends. read more

Kent, WA location. Worst customer service experience. Purchased rugs, had to follow up several times (was told it would only take a week), then told my order had been picked up (not), then could only locate part of my order, then treated to a classic customer is always wrong speech that included an explanation for why they never called me. It went something like "the phone works both ways...". Unbelievable. Do not shop here, the sales people only want to help if you were "their" customer (i.e. they aren't making commission to help you otherwise). Can't understand when a customer is frustrated when rugs that are supposed to take a week to bind, then take weeks. Never called to tell me my order was ready, couldn't locate order and then the salesperson has the nerve to tell me I should have dealt with him (never there when I called). When I complained that the other sales people who were there weren't interested in helping me because they had their own customers he said "you said the exact word...they were helping "their" customers. You should have left me voicemails." Wow. Never shop here, ever. read more

We had problem with our carpet . Great Floors was very responsive and took care of business. They made a claim with the manufacturer and get got our carpet replaced. The manager Jim Kerrick was great to work with. I highly recommend them. Our experience has truly been 5 star!. read more

I recently purchased a $6k plus hardwood floor from these guys. It was a nightmare from start to finish. Take my advice and RUN and find someone else. I purchased the floor from them in early June 2015. I scheduled them out 3 weeks to give me time to prep the house. I told the guy giving the bid I would have the room to bare wood with nothing on it. Off they go and they never called or communicated with me. I called the day before the install and they were all standing around shocked that they had this job that they knew nothing about and hadn't even ordered the materials for. Where did my $3200 go? After alot of stress and missed days of work, they come out and complained about the prep work they had to do, despite the guy giving he bid putting that down on his notes as to what prep would need to be done. After a couple more days, they come out with partial materials and lay the bulk of the floor. They complained because the floor install was different than they were told at the store. They also complained that they had to go back and get sine materials to do the work. Their temporary solution was to install parts of the floor that didn't match. a month and a half later, they come out and install SOME of the matching pieces, but not all of them. I then hear nothing from them until I get a collection letter for the second half of my payment and some additional invoices I know NOTHING about. Here I am nearing the end of September 2015 and still don't have a complete floor and they are bugging me for collections. To top it off, they did damage to the walls and the basement during their install that I had to go back and fix. Additionally, they sold me a floor that they said was super durable and the floor scratches easier than any other floor i've ever seen. Paid over $6k for POOR service and a floor that doesn't meet my needs. RUN, don't walk, the other way and don't do business with this company. read more

Thanks for pretty much nothing, Great Floors. Bad service and inferior products. Our experience started out with the salesperson, Steve, who was all too eager to take our money - so much so that he showed up at our home a day earlier than he'd said he would in order to take measurements! After that, though, getting any sort of service from Great Floors was like pulling teeth. We purchased kitchen vinyl flooring and carpeting for the whole house. The kitchen floor was installed first, and the third party installer Great Floors sent out, I will say, was fantastic. However, he informed us that some of the baseboard re-installation that the salesman had promised us could be done really was not possible to do. The salesman was obviously uneducated about their services; it was annoying to be promised one thing and then be told it actually could not be done. The carpet we ordered took about 5-6 weeks to arrive because it was not in stock. Updates from the team at Great Floors on the timing of our installation were nonexistent; I could not even get a return phone call from Great Floors during the time we were waiting for the carpet to be back in stock. Once the carpet was in stock, again I will say the third party installation team that came out was very professional and did a great job. Fast forward about 9 months, though, and our carpet is starting to look awful. We purchased the (not cheap) Mohawk Smartstrand, which is supposed to be ultra-durable and has a 25 year warranty. It's the one where a Rhinoceros lived on it for 2 weeks in the advertisement and the carpet still looks great afterward. Well, I certainly do not have any Rhinos living in my house, just a husband and 2 kids. There is an area in front of our couch where the carpet looks horrendous - the little strands have all become untwisted and frayed!! I would expect some wear after many years, but not after only 9 months on such a pricey carpet!! I contacted Great Floors and they put in a warranty claim with Mohawk. After waiting literally 3 months to hear back from Mohawk and their "independent investigator," surprise surprise - Mohawk denied the claim, stating this was "normal wear." During this whole 3 months of waiting to hear from Mohawk, the Great Floors manager Paul, who was supposed to be coordinating the claim, was completely unresponsive to my questions. I would call him asking the status, and if I was lucky enough to get a return call back from him, all he would say was "well I don't know, usually we hear back from them within 10 days..." Then, when the claim was finally denied, he told me he would "talk to his Mohawk rep" about it. I emailed him photos of the horrible-looking carpet to share with his rep. That was March 10th. Today is April 9th. No response from Paul. I'm thinking it's safe to assume I won't be hearing from him. How utterly disappointing to spend so much money on flooring and be stuck with an inferior product that Great Floors refuses to stand behind. Save yourself the headache and shop somewhere else!! read more

This will be my first time installing carpet (more over a repair thanks to the handy work of a 12 lb dog) And the gentleman who was assisting me gave me guidance on how to do it and the best way how. [tl;dr: Great Floors was okay to work with, but the contractors they used were horrible and I never want to have them in my home again, for this I can only give one star which I think is generous considering the result I now live with.] I moved into a new home and had a time crunch to have the new flooring completed in time to move in. I was referred to Great Floors by my agent and blindly contacted them for the job without looking at reviews. This was an unfortunate mistake. The process went very smoothly from the sales side and I initially had a good feeling about the process while it was being set up. There were some minor setbacks regarding an incorrect material being ordered, but Great Floors recovered well and kept the project on track. Things went south upon installation. The contractor they sent the job was extremely disappointing. They took assigned parking spaces of my neighbors to store refuse which got me a complaint from the HOA before I had even moved in. The contractor used a cart as a workbench for the entire install that wasn't for him to use; it was for residents to haul things like groceries up and its abuse put me on another bad foot with my new neighbors. The contractor also damaged my floors when moving appliances around which had to be repaired. In the area they were repaired, the floor bows up slightly for some reason, possibly due to compressive stresses where the replacement planks were squeezed in. Appliances were reinstalled crooked and tilted very carelessly. Transitions were poorly installed such that they didn't match up. Nail heads were left exposed in my baseboards that I had to nail all the way down myself afterward. in addition to poor workmanship the contractors service was also very poor. There was a delay in completing the installation due to material on backorder. The arrival of the material was very close to my move-in date and there was a time crunch to get it in on time. After some arm twisting, the contractor agreed to come to do the installation on a weekday. They didn't show up for a long time and when I called to ask where they were, they said they couldn't find parking which is very common and expected in my area and something I would think they should plan for. What made it worse, is that the contractor gave up on me and just left after not finding parking but never let me know. I called off work and canceled a later appointment waiting for them after they silently gave up and left me hanging. I tolerate the poor workmanship and allowed them to come in and finish the job despite my dissatisfaction with them simply because I wanted it to be over with and never see them again. Great Floors was okay to work with, but the contractors they used were horrible and I never want to have them in my home again, for this I can only give one star which I think is generous considering the result I now live with. read more

Overall experience was good. The carpet installers did a great job and were quite efficient using their time. The transaction purchase went well. We were mostly able to do it over the phone. This place is a joke! My wife were in looking for new bathroon tile and it was like a gfhost town in there and no sales people - so we thought. We came out of the rows of tile to see all three "sales" people sitting at thier desks with thier faces buried in the computers - did not aknowledge our presence. We just had our laminate, tile, and carpet installed by Great Floors and I wanted to share how happy we are with it. I can't say enough good things about Great Floors. I loved that he person who did the measurements was the one who was going to do the installation because he was able to answer a lot of questions I had, and I liked knowing in advance who would be doing the installation. We have had many home services in the past and things never went smoothly. I was so afraid that the new floor installation was going to be a nightmare but was I pleasantly surprised. We chose Great Floors after getting an estimate from another company whose estimate was much higher and the product selection much more limited. From the very first email contact I made with Kristen Borgman till the very last detail of installation, I was highly impressed. I had been putting off having our floors done for two years because I was so overwhelmed with the whole process that I kept putting it off but everyone at Great Floors made the process so easy. Kristin was wonderful with her product knowledge, Rob was amazing when he took over for Kristin mid-way through our project, Peter and his crew were fantastic and quick with the carpet installation, and Alex and his crew were incredible with the laminate and tile installation. Everyone of them were so kind, thorough, and wonderful. Having workers in our house and our house torn apart for almost a week could have been very disrupting for us but Alex and Peter and their crew made the installation so easy. They never made us feel like we were in their way, they worked around us and our dogs, they showed up on time, and were very enjoyable to have in our home. I can honestly say that it was a pleasure working with them. Being a business owner I appreciate outstanding customer service and was highly impressed. We will be using their services again when we are ready to have our kitchen counters done. I highly recommend Great Floors! read more

We used Great Floors Kent for the first experience with a home remodel and to say they ruined the experience is an understatement. We asked multiple times for quotes, samples, timelines, etc and there was never any communication from Paul. I also would text him and he would ignore my text messages. He would reply to my husband though so after a month or so I wouldn't even try to reach out to him. Multiple times we were told they were going to work on the job, but they never showed. My husband took many days off of work to meet installers who never showed and when we needed the cabinet installation fixed the installer tried to argue with me telling me that what I wanted wasn't possible. Eventually he fixed it like I wanted, but not without an argument.The tile installer took over 3 weeks to put subway tile in a standard size shower (I am no expert but my co workers had the same job done in a week) When the job was finally finished Paul tried to increase pricing on our final bill for no reason so I had to send him email back up with the original pricing he sent and refuse to pay the bill until it was corrected. Overall we were appalled at the level of customer service they provided and when we reached up to their regional manager they were little to no help also. Go somewhere else unless you want to harass, argue be ignored. read more

DO NOT give this company any of your time or money. I bought carpet for my entire house which had to be replaced THREE times due to faulty or recalled padding. This means THREE times I had to move furniture, beds, dressers...EVERYTHING in my house so they could rip up and replace their poor quality of padding and their mistake. I was told by Harvey that the padding was high quality the first time...ha! It took many phone calls and several months for them to even return my call when this all first started. When the installation manager finally called me back he was rude and it took weeks and more phone calls to get any sort of response from him. I eventually went directly to the store manager. I spent thousands of dollars and I am still not happy. The seaming is very noticeable due to the three times that the carpet pad had to be replaced. Terrible experience and would NOT recommend this company to anyone. Run, run, run and DO NOT LOOK BACK! read more
