On my big day she was on time and ready for me. Everything went as planned (salon-wise!) Cheryl also cut my hair prior to my hair trial and she was great. One pet peeve I have is when beauticians try to tell me how bad my hair is and how much I need a deep conditioner. She made the most of my thin hair and didn't say anything bad. Kayla Sanderson is one of the resident make-up artists at Hair Encounter. She spoke with me prior to my day and happily answered all my questions. She was prompt and ready when I arrived. She uses Bare Minerals and did a wonderful job! Give her photos of your ideas and she re-creates it exactly. Her fee is much lower than other area salons. I suggest that the salon give her a station with better lighting. The make-up looked cake-y when she put it on, but when I went to have my hair done in a different chair, it looked beautiful in higher light. Please don't make her apply make-up using fluorescent light. I will use Cheryl and Kayla again with no worries. I do not have to worry about what will happen.

I have been coming here since I was 12 (So an entire decade, WOW)…read more Every single time I come here to see Julie, I am obsessed with my hair when I leave. In my high school/college years, I was always either getting my hair done not enough, or I was jumping from salon to salon because of convenience. Well within my experience, it is 100% important to NOT do that, and if it's not broken; don't fix it! I am now on a regular schedule of getting my hair done by Julie, and this will be the second time she has helped me fully process from a dark hair color, to blonde. Her placement of highlights is the best I have ever seen in my life, and she really cares about all of her clients. She doesn't push you to buy extra products, but instead she educates you on how to maintain healthy hair and color. I ended up getting the AVEDA Blue Mulva conditioner at the salon because I loved the way her own hair was perfectly blonde! One thing I have not yet tried, was their mani/pedi services. With the basically-brand new salon, the mani/pedi room is beautiful. I have heard they do an amazing job (and have affordable prices) but I still have not made time to schedule an appointment! But seriously, if you are looking for a salon in the Schaumburg/roselle/elk grove area, this is your place. Reasonable prices, amazing service, and just everything a salon and spa should be. p.s when you are getting your hair dyed, there is a specific place for customers to sit while processing the color. The best part about the processing area, is that they have wall plugs for you to charge your phone right in front of you. THEY THINK OF EVERYTHING! :)

I decided to tag along to see what I thought and they were good enough to squeeze me in too. Guess what??? It's the same Danielle who used to cut my hair for years many moons ago! When I moved from Itasca to Schaumburg, I ended up choosing a salon right around the corner from my then new house. I can't believe that I've found her again. She's been in this profession for fourteen year now...wow, how time flies! And now I feel a little older than I would like. But I digress. Anyhow, I decided to eliminate the Oscar the Grouch/Tom Selleck look that I've been sporting for a few weeks and opted for an eyebrow and lip waxing. The waxing room is nice. Very clean. They don't double dip in the wax which is greatly appreciated. It would be almost as bad as double dipping in the chip dip at a party which is why I'm glad that they stay away from that practice. ;-) Anyhow, I agree with the nickname. Oh, Gentle Waxer, you left me painfree and very relaxed! I was surprised because my face usually hurts for a while after a waxing, but not this time. The salon itself is divided up nicely. They have a couple manicure stations setup in front by the windows, so there is good lighting. The other windowfront is the home of their boutique. Filled with jewelry, handbags, hats, scarves and really cute tops - there's a lot to look at in that space! I need to devote more time right there on my next visit. The pedicure station is near the back of the salon for a more relaxed feel away from the guests coming in and out the front door. The stylists are setup throughout the Center along the walls. Overall the prices are what I would expect and I'm good with that. Everyone that I encountered was friendly. I like that a lot. I like feeling welcomed. Like they're glad to have me. :-) I'm looking forward to my next visit. I love downtown Itasca and all it has to offer. This is a great locally owned salon that's worth your time and money!

I'm so excited to write about Le Bella Salon. I don't know how there aren't more reviews on here…read moreabout them. They are excellent! First off, quant little Itasca where I went to school as a child and grew up. Love downtown Itasca. Surprised more businesses haven't squeezed their way into this area. I guess with Elk Grove/Arlington Heights near by, that might explain some things. Found this place through a friend and heard that I should try them so I did. I heard Danielle was THE gal to see for my waxing and hair cutting/dying needs. I'm not a person that dyes my hair, but one day when my little bit of gray takes over, I'm sure I may have to consider it. First off, you walk in this place and it's relaxing from the word go. Great atmosphere and wonderful staff to top it all off! They have a little boutique in the front with some cutesy little tops and jewelry. just darling! They offer manicures, pedicures, spa pedicures, NO Chip manicure (one of my faves), acrylics, make up, hair cuts for BOTH MEN AND WOMEN (and children), Up-do's, Coloring, highlites, perms, shine treatment and the new craze--- Brazilian Keratin Treatment. Pricing is comparable for this quality of service. Danielle offers a referral program (Danielle specifically) and offers her new clients a special deal on a cut and color...I may have missed all the details, but the word "Free" was involved. :) I had her wax my eyebrows. I don't really require much waxing but she did such a great job. Shaped them up beautifully and made me feel like I did something nice for myself. They offer a variety of waxing services, including the brazilian wax, lip, eyebrow, chin, back, chest (wish I could get my fiance to partake in a few of these), legs and underarms. Need a facial? The got 'em! I am thinking of perhaps partaking in one myself around the time of my upcoming wedding. Oh man, did i mention that they offer Swedish massages for only $60!?!? And word on the street is that the woman that does the massages here is SPECTACULAR!! I'm so excited to have found this place. It brings me back to my roots and memories of my childhood, but makes me feel like a beautiful woman and that's what we all want, right? Call and make your appointment now. Ask for Wendy or Danielle. Both ladies are experienced and well qualified, even to touch my hair and believe me, I barely let anyone lay a finger on it.

In the end, I told her, "dealers choice" when she asked if I wanted my hair curled or straightened? It's included in the service, which is definitely a bonus and extremely reasonable. My second visit 7 or 8 weeks later with the same stylist didn't look as good. The contrast between blond and brown barely noticable. My third visit with the same stylist was way too dark brown. Also, at a new place today they reported that my hair was severly damaged from over bleaching during foils. For basic services this place is fine. But they do not have an understanding of how to protect hair from further damage by over processing.
