I look like a bald man instead of a woman. She butchered the sides and back of my hair like a reverse Mohawk. First time there and I got one of the worst customer service and hair cuts ever. The stylist Chelsea was not friendly. For a start she got shampoo and conditioner in my ear while washing my hair and then while combing out my hair she didn't want to talk about style or anything. After recommending several times she cut off the damaged part rather then struggle with it she finally gave in with an air like I don't know my own hair. She also didn't want to talk style till after my hair was combed out or even the usual small talk. I even had told her while she was washing my hair I was looking for a new regular stylist since the one I'd been with for 15 years was a 2 hour drive away now. She wouldn't listen when I tried to explain how my hair behaves. She was insisting it was a product problem and not how my hair was. She didn't even recommend ways to fix it with product and then try to tell me I needed layers when I'd explained from the start I hate layers because it exacerbates the problem. She was also stubborn on the point that she was cutting my hair short enough when I said I wanted it an inch shorter. In the end I walked out with still fairly wet hair (she "blow dried it"), and upon it drying completely it was not above the shoulders as I requested and I had to go around trimming 2 parts because they were 1" longer then the rest of my hair. My bangs were also a hack job and she didn't take in consideration of them getting wavy when dried so they are now shorter then I wanted. Never again will I go there. read more

It was actually my husband that got a hair cut, but he refuses to complain--Not me! The girl cutting his hair, cut her finger so badly she needed a bandaid-- none in the shop so she left to buy some. Another gal stepped in to "finish" his hair. Needless to say it LOOKED like 2 different people cut his hair! Absolutely ridiculous!! and they LET him walk out like that!! He went back to have them "fix" it and it looks worse than before!! I've begged him to quit going there- they don't know what they're doing! I can't believe they hire such unskilled workers. This is where I've been going to get my hair cut for the past few years. The stylists are skilled enough to get what I want done and keep me looking neat in my own way. They're interactive if you want them to be, and when you don't, they don't bother you as they work on your hair. I don't have a "regular" stylist, as I just go in and get my hair cut by whoever is available at the time. I can say that the variety that I've had were all gentle with my hair and head, and kept me comfortable. I've yet to go home with an itchy back, and during the few times I had my head shaved/buzzed, they offered to rinse me off so clippings weren't sticking all over my head and neck. As I haven't gone to any other hair cutting or salon places, I can't give a first-hand account on their pricing. But according to my more well-off friends that spend $20-50 on haircuts... the sub-$20 price they charge here seems like a bargain, because their hair doesn't look any better than mine does for all the money they wasted. read more

If their goal is to be consistently inconsistent then they're doing great and today's visit didn't disappoint. My son and I right off the bat got the feeling from his stylist that she didn't really want to be there, and I get it life happens and everyone has bad days but when you work in a customer service driven business you leave real life at the door and please your customers. His haircut was not what he wanted and he was not listened to when he said he didn't want the top cut at all but she "evened it out" cutting over an inch off. There are also long pieces of hair left behind, which I will need to cut myself at home, just an overall mediocre job. On top of this they turned away a senior veteran because they aren't taking walk ins, he was clearly elderly and hard of hearing. Where does it say the don't take walk-ins? I just received the most half assed haircut today. After having the girl re-fade the sides not once but two times, I have up on that. But what really sucked was the fact that she didn't reattach the damn smock around my neck after unsnapping it 3 minutes into my hair cut. And made no effort to even attempt to clean off the hair afterwards... Her only comment was "that's what sucks about being a dude and getting a clipper cut". What can I say, it's Great Clips. I will occasionally use this shop if I need a quick trim and I'm in a hurry or don't like driving across town to my normal barber. The employees have always been friendly but the haircuts are hit and miss. In my opinion the price is a little high for the type of haircut you receive. This location is fine for an average quick trim but as I said, he haircuts are hot and miss. I've had some very good haircuts and a few that had me go to my regular barber to fix the Great Clips not so great clips. Take your chances, odds are it'll be okay. read more

I was very disappointed with the stylist my grandson had today. She was rude the entire time she was giving him a haircut. I had to answer my 6 year old grandson's questions after we left, on why she was not talking to him or smiling. We discussed she was probably having a bad day, and I was proud of him trying to talk and make her happy. We will probably not go back since it was that uncomfortable. Another person who was sitting nearby noticed too, and commented to me about her being rude. I'm sorry if you are not happy at your job, but don't take it out on a little kindergartener who was being good and just trying to have a conversation with you. I used to live in suisun and went to the same stylist for over 10 years . Even After moving to Vacaville I still went to suisun to get my haircut . I needed to find someone local. After going thru 3-4 different stylist I would still end up going back to suisun until I finally found someone who does a great job and is always cheerful and friendly when I go get my haircut . Deborah has been cutting my hair for almost 2 years and I couldn't be happier . She knows exactly what I want and how I like it , yet she still takes the time to ask me if I need something different and is so attentive to me. A few days ago I took my son who has down syndrome to get a haircut here, I was asked do not have my son sit on my lap while getting a haircut, he has down syndrome he must sit on my lap this has been standard for me due to his sensory issues. I was refused service and asked to take him somewhere else to get his haircut, however another lady did cut his hair my child never made a sound he didn't even flinch he's very well behaved but has major sensory issues along with his down syndrome on this day he showed them all what a big boy he is, although the lady that did cut his hair did a beautiful job I will NEVER go back here again!! I did call and I spoke with the GM and the owner they apologized offered me three coupons. I refused the coupons this was NOT about getting a free service this was about discrimination against my disabled son!! I then received a phone call a few days later from them telling me that it was about the precision cut and a language barrier and that wasn't how she meant to say it!! WTH BUT THATS EXACTLY what she said!! and that is my issue I don't care what she meant to say Or what she should've said it's what she said and asked us to leave and find somewhere else to cut his hair! I'm always very happy with the haircuts here. The ladies are always very nice and do a great job of listening to what kind of cut I'm looking for. I also like the fact that they save the previous cut and style in their computer just in case you want that again. The only reason why they don't get 5 stars is because I have to pay $13 + $2 tip for what literally is a 10 minute hair cut. That's paying someone $90 and hour to cut hair which, in my opinion seems a bit excessive. Can't they cut the price, if the cut is easier than others? She could be a hairstylist for celebrities but I think she chooses to stay local because she is loyal to vacaville. Blake sweeps the hair up like her life depended on it, and she answers the phone in less than one ring. If the floor is dirty, Blake ain't happy. Cami is also extremely good at cutting hair. I've been here twice now. The first time was fine, they did a good job, no complaints whatsoever. Yesterday, after the woman had already started to cut my hair, I noticed her station and tools looked like they still had hair on them from the customer prior to me. She was very opinionated on how I cut my hair, telling me the way I wanted her to do it wouldn't look good. Input can be a good thing sometimes but if a customer has a certain way they want it done, the bottom line is it's their head and their money. Also, the cleanliness concerned me. To be fair, my haircut turned out fine in the end, but I think I'm going to try somewhere else next time. Have been here before and can count on the quality of haircut not being the best, but still go here sometimes for the convenience. Today I checked in on the app which showed 1 min wait. I got there, and three people were checked in ahead of me. Don't trust the app. But my rating is because we stood at the counter to let them know we were there, and watched three hair stylists come up and ring their customers up, then walk off. This was my first and last time going to this Great Clips. The person that cut my hair asked how I wanted it cut then did her own thing. I wanted a little off the top and she cut it really short, I wanted a fade and she cut it high, I asked for gel in my hair to hold it down she put gel on a comb and wiped it in the middle of my hair and caked it on, I guess she didnt want gel on her hands, the sides of my hair were standing up and I had to ask for gel on the sides and again put on a comb and caked on. I was trying to train my hair to comb back and now I have to start all over again! on top of that she complained about too many customers coming in. I always go to great clips but im not going back here, I dont know about the other stylist there but not this lady, I wont go back just because of the chance of getting her again. read more
