Can't remember the name of the lady but she had 3 inch nails that kept stabbing my neck and poked me in the eye. She also had no regard for pressure when using the clippers, basically scraping my skin and then slapping me in the head each time she used the guard. I was too nice to request someone else do my haircut and now i've paid $26 for something I don't like. She didn't even blow the hair off my neck and shoulders, just tried brushing it away with her super long finger nails... Upset, gonna try a different location next time.

As I was setting up a time with Diane, the first lady was trying to call me back because she had a cancellation. Wow, these ladies really try to please. I was even more pleased entering and meeting the owner Mary Ann and my nail specialist. This place can be difficult to find. It is on 87th and Hauser Ct. behind the Pizza Hut. The place was bigger than I imagined. Apparently the owner was able to do more with this building than the last one she had down the street. It definitely shows. Great art and colors and arrangement of the whole place. I am so very glad I ended up here. The atmosphere was very relaxed and calming and a fun place to be in. On the day I was there there was another nail specialist, and massage therapist and hair stylist. All seemed to enjoy their jobs. This place is also very much into EOE. Which is a plus to see in Johnson County. Also looking at the other customers coming and going it seemed as if everyone enjoyed their treatments here. I was among them. Usually, I only get clear polish, specially my toes because they then to repeal polish and start to peal immediately. However, for my costume I had to get red and white. I will say Diane has done a great job because they are still on and I am still getting compliments on my nails everyday. And there was no pain in the plucking, my other fear. Last year, I had a great experience with a facial, so I purchased their "4 for $40" facial promotion, which I was excited about. After that, I booked several appointments, but they were repeatedly canceled. Every time I tried calling the school to reschedule, no one answered or returned my calls--this happened multiple times. Eventually, I had to go in person to schedule an appointment, and I finally secured one for the next day. During my facial, I was asked four times to confirm my identity. Then, I was suddenly told that my facial package no longer existed. They asked me to provide a bank statement as proof of purchase, to which I responded that I had bought the package last January and it should be found in the system. The staff member then informed me that facials expire after a year--something I was never told when I purchased the package. I received no notification via email, text, or even verbally at the time of purchase. I was then told that I couldn't purchase another package at that promotional price because I'm "not a first-time customer"--even though I still have three facials left on my current package. Then middle of my facial, I briefly picked up my phone once. Immediately, a woman, who appeared to be in charge, rudely approached me and told me to put it away. My aesthetician seemed surprised and even mentioned that she had never seen that happen before. Later, I asked another staff member if it was acceptable to use my phone during a facial, and she confirmed that it was--as long as the aesthetician was okay with it, which mine was. Overall, my experience has gone downhill due to poor customer service, lack of communication, and inconsistent policies. It's disappointing because I used to love coming here. If you're looking for cheap services, it might be worth it--but in my opinion, the disrespect that comes with it isn't. I'd rather pay for one high-quality service per year than go there and be treated poorly.

I've seen other level 3 stylists in the KC area, only to leave feeling upset because they cut my hair too short or in ways that I'm still trying to fix years later. But Christopher is different. From the start, he took the time to ask me how I wanted to look, how long I wanted my hair, and what my concerns were. It was so refreshing to feel heard. He made sure not to cut it too short and then spent extra time making sure every single curl looked good--separating them, shaping them, and even having me tease my hair so he could go back through and perfect it. He did things no one else has ever done, and it made all the difference. For the first time ever, I scheduled my next appointment before even leaving because I actually look forward to getting my hair cut now. If you have curly hair, stop searching--Christopher is the only person you should be going to!
