I've been to several Great Clips because I refuse to pay high prices for something as simple as maintaining a pixie cut. For $21 I can get in and out pretty quickly. It's Great Clips... You get what you get. It's a decent option if you don't need much and just want to get your hair cut when the mood hits... In this area ,you're either paying 50 bux and up for basic hair service and waiting to get an appointment or you're walking into Great Clips... Well,I didn't need a 50.00 service,just a basic trim. The place was very clean and surprisingly quiet. The lady that took care of me was friendly and proficient. Will I go back when I need another trim? Sure. Maybe. I had my haircut done by Michelle at salon # 9164 in Loch Leven. She is outstanding on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best. She is a 10+ consistently. She takes her time and asks me questions to confirm that she is cutting my hair as I requested. I have had a lot of haircuts in my lifetime, but she is the BEST, by far. read more

Obviously in this sort of environment your experience can vary from stylist to stylist. Mine might have gone quite well, but my wife was very disappointed in her experience. Her stylist cut her hair very quickly, which might not necessarily be a problem, but he was apparently quite rough in his handling of her. Tugging, pulling. - what was his hurry? She literally had a headache when it was done. She also thought the back was cut a fraction too short,but that by itself wouldn't have been a big deal. If I could have given no star then that's what I would have selected. Used the Online Check In and was instructed to head in so did so. A guy walked in the same time as me and he checked in with the person at the counter. I was never acknowledged so I sat down, several minutes later he was called to cut his hair!!!! What is the point of using the Online Check In if you as the establishment aren't going to use it!!!!! I would not recommend them for a hair cut!!! Poor Customer Service!!! read more

I was in town taking care of my 87 yr old Mother In Law who has early dementia. We made an appt for Jan. 14, a week ahead of time and she was asking every day if it was salon day because she was so excited about getting her perm. I admit we were 10 minutes late, which is extremely rare for me as I'm always early for appts. Being from out of state, I did not realize that the car navigation was taking us in the wrong direction, so by the time we changed course and arrived, we were 10 minutes late. I got to the desk and was attempting to apologize and explain, but before I could, Jackie, a stylist in the first chair with pepto pink hair - made a point of embarrassing us by loudly announcing that "your appt was for 10am"! Instead of firing back, which is my nature, I sat down with my MIL to wait her turn. I needed to make calls about her meds to her doctor, so I sat outside to take care of business while she was being worked on. I came back in approx 30 min later and my MIL was "done", with NO PERM. Jackie decided for her that she didn't need a perm because "she has naturally curly hair". NO SHE DOES NOT! She has very thin hair with a very small wave in the back. I told my MIL that she looked scraggly, because she did, and said "we came here for a perm and you're not going to be happy when you get up tomorrow and haven't had a perm"! What really happened here is that Jackie decided FOR my MIL what service she was NOT going to get because they were quite busy. She chose to NOT give my MIL a perm so she could keep her chair turning over in order to make more tips. I was even more furious when Jackie convinced my MIL that she needed to buy some $18 mousse! Bull****! My MIL is a farm girl and the ONLY maintenance she has ever afforded herself is a PERM. A PERM JACKIE, THAT SHE'S BEEN GETTING FOR 60 YEARS! You are a loud mouth bully and very unprofessional. If you're the boss - I bet turnover is high. You'll never see us again. I will indeed follow the instructions on the receipt to leave feedback. My MIL should get a full refund for the $38 wasted. read more

Great service. I didn't get the cut I originally wanted. I'm pretty sure the hairstylist i had was very new and kind of nervous. she did make some small errors that I didn't notice until I got home. My bangs were EXTREMELY too short. BUT she was very kind and I know that she really did try and I know that she can only learn with experience. She asked me a lot of questions regarding what I wanted exactly. so even though It didn't turn out like I wanted- it's still a 4 out of 5 stars kind of place. GREAT service. read more

Made an appointment for a trim,style and straighten. I came in around 11:30 AM. My first stylist didn't even wash out all the shampoo and conditioner from my hair, I have been scratching my head all day. My stylist didn't even comb my hair out before she began cutting leading to unevenness I know have in my hair. My stylist never sectioned our my hair to blow dry it or to straighten it and I had to then ask her to keep going over parts and to straighten my ends which she had neglected. My last stylist finally got some products and a different straightener but it wasn't enough. Eventually I gave up and paid and left the salon in tears. Today is my birthday and I had to rush home crying to finish styling my hair. It was 70$ for what I can only describe as a mess. I feel robbed, I feel so heartbroken and am so sad I chose this place because it was close to home and had good reviews. Please beware. read more
