I used the on line check in app for Great Clips. If you haven't used it is a must do every time. I was greeted when I came into the shop and ask if I had already check in online or needed to be added to the list. All the employees were very friendly and knew exactly how to cut your hair by how you told them too. They Listen and do your cut right. Marsha is the one Who cuts my hair. I like the location of this place. I went to get my haircut while my wife shopped at Walmart. The last time I checked the salon in Walmart they had a really long wait there. Here, I used an app to check in. It tells you the current wait time on walk ins and you can show up whenever the wait time for you is better. The app has really helped. The stylists are friendly and get along well with each other. This will be my go to haircut place whenever we come in to visit friends. read more

They say the difference between a good haircut and a bad one is six weeks. Based on my experience with the Gallatin Great Clips, I think it's going to be a bit longer than that. Six weeks ago today, I decided I was going to get a new look for 2019. My past-shoulder, one-length hair was feeling thin (illness-related) and worn and boring. I wanted something other than my daily bun. Something cute, something easy, something that would impress (or at least make me look pulled-together) when I walked into a meeting. Months of considering before I decided to cut. Weeks more of looking at various hairstyles, trying to figure out what would work with my cowlick-y hair. I finally found the cut I thought would work: long enough to cover my neck (necessary,) short enough to be easy to care for, and the poufs in the acteress' hair seemed to correspond with my cowlicks. But, I'm no hairstylist. So, I showed pictures to the GC stylist, explained my cowlicks and thinning hair, and ASKED: can you do this style with my hair? Mary assured me she could, so I removed my glasses, closed my eyes and let her do her job. When she was done, I most certainly didn't have the cut in the picture. (In addition to the overall shape of the cut, bottom of my hair looked like it was cut with pinking shears,) To be honest, I was ready to pay and leave without tipping at this point. It met some of the criteria I set out (covered neck, tucked behind my ears) and was probably long enough for clips and a very short ponytail while I recovered. I've been told I don't hide my feelings well, and Mary knew something was wrong, so she pulled Tracy over. Tracy asked what the problem was, looked at the photos of what I wanted, and said she would fix it. I am a bit slow on the uptake, so I once again removed my glasses and put my trust in the stylist. She cut quite a lot. I assumed () she was just working in the layers needed for the 'flippy' style I wanted instead of the one length I got. When I realized how much she was really cutting, I started reaching my hands up to feel my head and she stopped cutting. She started styling. I had been adamant about: no products, no heat, no styling. I wanted a wash and go cut! 'stop with the hairspray!' Because she was spritzing and blasting me with a hairdryer. I put my glasses back on and was too stunned to speak. I reached to the back of my head and screeched (quite loudly I'm sure) Her assurance that I didn't have to pay was ludicrous, and the fact that she tried to convince me she had given me the haircut I asked for was beyond the pale. No one with eyes that work could say it was the same haircut. (The styling she did was... well, remember the episode where the Golden Girls go to Sophia's hairdresser? That.) At this point, I could've said lesson learned. Don't expect anything beyond the basic haircut from a place like this. At least it didn't cost me any money. I don't look in the mirror that often anyway. I never take selfies, so it won't matter, really. But then someone asked if I was going wig shopping. My dad offered me some money for a hat. There were a lot of 'wow, that's REALLY short' comments. I contacted Great Clips, who let me know that the store I went to was a franchise. A manager from the franchise contacted me about my request that Tracy buy me a nice hat. Lorrissa, the manager didn't actually address that request, though. She indicated the need to see the haircut (even though Tracy took photos,) but offered a free cut and shampoo right off the bat. We went back and forth a few times, but when I finally said I wasn't interested in having someone there touch my already-too-short hair and try to sell me styling products when I was clear about my expectations from the beginning: a $15. haircut that I didn't have to spend a lot of time on. At that point, I was told I would receive the coupons in the mail. They still haven't explained how they had my address. The free cut coupon/card came with a letter from someone with the corporation who owns the franchise. They were sorry I was not satisfied with my cut. They had addressed the situation with the store. But, what, exactly did they address? No one has admitted anything went wrong, except that I 'didn't like' my haircut. At this point, my opinion of this entire group is: if you want to do business with people who make promises they can't/have no intention of keeping, and refuse to admit to anything, this is your group. Mary said she could do that cut. She didn't. Tracy said she would fix it. She didn't. Lorrissa promised a shampoo and cut for my distress. Nope. (She also offered hope of more if she could evaluate the haircut herself.) The letter from the owner group included the sender's card with the invitation to contact him if needed. I went in for a haircut & was asked for my phone #. I explained that I didn't want to disclose my number, that I had just changed it & wanted to keep it private. The manager said that my number was necessary for my 'file'. I told her that I didn't want to have a file, I have cash & I just want a haircut. I was told, 'No phone number-- No service!' I was so shocked at the unprofessional-ism & rudeness. I went across the street to Hair Co., received great service & wasn't asked for my number! Customers Beware!! read more

Great Clips is a chain hair salon. They offer a very limited amount of services, which keeps the patron traffic flow moving pretty well. You can get a haircut, shampoo, deep conditioning or a perm. No coloring or waxing or any other "extras" here. I have been visiting this Great Clips for well over a year. They had done extremely well on my familys hair. Until recently. The last three times we've been in here (Today being the very last time we will give them our business), they have messed up our hair. Not something minor, they have been huge mistakes. Using a 1 on the clippers right down the center of my sons head when he asks for (and they have in their computer) a 3 on top. Or, while thinning my hair, they cut straight through and now I have little 2 inch pieces of hair that stand out like horns when my hair is up for work. They never offer to fix anything, they never offer a discounted/free service after they mess up. These "stylists" are so busy chatting up each other and the clients that they don't pay attention to what they are doing. The haircuts are reasonable, but you truly never know what you're going to leave looking like. read more

Marlyn is a fantastic stylist and has been doing my hair for numerous years, she's not only great at what she does but has also became a good friend to me throughout the years as it's been about 10 at least since I've been going to her. I would recommend her to everyone but that is not necessary, because it only takes going to her one time and your hooked, not only on her skills but he sweet personality. Pat Robinson read more

This is the worst place ive ever walked into, waited over an hour with an on line check in while people walked in off the street and got hair cuts, also watched a hair stylist putting on makeup with customers waitng, I walked out and will never go back, also last time I was there used my debit card to pay for 13.00 haircut checked bank someone changed the three to an 8 and that gave them a five dollar tip plus the three id already left, as I said good luck to anyone who goes there but I'm done. read more

I visited the Great Clips in Gallatin, TN. The staff was very rude and embarrassed my seven year old daughter. They were very unprofessional in how they handled a sensitive situation and made an innocent child feel bad for something she had no control over. My family and I will never go to another Great Clips again. read more

Cant' beat the price and this location doesn't have a huge wait, so I get in and out quickly.
