I've been to Great Adventure many times but for various reasons, I've never been able to get in the safari until now. This is the perfect social distancing activity. You used to be able to get on one of those convertible busses and take a tour along with other people. Because of COVID-19, those busses are not in use so you can plan a road trip and go to the safari without getting out of your car. You can buy your tickets online and have them emailed to you. When you get to the entrance, the staff will scan your ticket from your phone, without you even having to roll down your window. There are two lanes for you to drive through the park and see the animals. Animals have the right of way, the speed limit is 5mph and you're not supposed to roll down the windows. There may be a little bit of traffic when everybody is trying to get the perfect picture, but that's ok. There are ostriches, giraffe, lions, tigers, bear baboons, elephants, zebras, rams and more. It's nice to see the animals have much more room to roam than seeing them at a zoo. There are signs that will tell you what animals you are about to see and give you some information on them as well. The whole thing took us about an hour and 1/2 to drive through and see the animals. It was great to see them and there was zero damage to our car. I'd recommend you go with your friends, significant other or family!

We have been going to the Safari since they opened. It was originally a drive thru. Years later it was changed that you went through via truck. It was great allowing you to stop and feed the giraffes. But those who were handicapped had a disadvantage. When the pandemic came the drive thru re-opened. We visited the Safari weekly, watching the births of many animals and seeing their growth. Definitely an experience that will be lost once the drive thru closes. During this time I became handicapped and the drive thru ending will limit ones enjoyment and wondering what they plan to do about the handicap. If I new the closing before purchased seasons passes for 2024 I may have made a different decision about renewing. Still the drive thru is a great experience, and well managed.

So the rules are drive 5 MPH, keep your windows up and generally don't do anything stupid. I'd say tons of people had their windows down (we saw ppl getting directed to roll them up by staff) and there were more than a few occasions where cars simply stopped to see the animals, causing a bit of a traffic jam. The drive yourself tour took us about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Definitely use the downloadable tour - we played ours through the car sound system and it was great in helping identify animals we saw along the route. Like any zoo type environment, it's very hit or miss what you'll see. The giraffes were no where near the roadway when we drove through at 10AM, however we had friends go the same afternoon...and their car was licked by a curious giraffe. We did get to see the brown bears being fed, very impressive animals, and amazing how they basically sit up and wave for fish to be thrown to them. I think after Covid, it would be worthwhile to go back and ride one of the open buses, as the photo opportunities would be better, but the self driving really lets you go your own pace.

My adult children planned to take a trip here a little while back. Today was the day and I decided to tag along with my 13-year old. Booking the visit and purchasing the tickets online is required before you enter the park. It's quick and easy as you can do it on the Six Flags site as late as the day of or hours before you go. I'm not sure how I feel about paying $20 per person though...perhaps a bit pricey I think. Six Flags aka Great Adventure (that's what we called it as kids) was a straight route for us coming from Central-North Jersey. Check-in was painless. You simply show your virtual phone tickets that you've pre-purchased online. The Six Flags associate scans the barcode and you're on your way to enter the Safari park. The Safari Park was easy to enter and maneuver through as their signs were simple and basic. Six Flags staff was spread out within the park and they gave friendly smiles and waves as each car passed through. This was quite impressive considering it was HUMID and nearly 100 degrees out as they were dressed in their short-sleeve button up shirts and matching trousers. We saw many animals and the child in me was super-excited to catch glimpses of the giraffes, zebras and lions - those were my faves. In addition we saw baboons, bears, tigers, bisons, and a large variety of birds and other animals! My son drove through the park at 5 mph (as park rules indicated) definitely slower in other areas where attractions were more popular (like the giraffes, bears and tiger areas) The site indicates it would take 1 and 1/2 - 3 hours to get through...I think it took us about 2 hours. That's because we took our time, munched on snacks and took tons of pics-well at least I did! Make sure to stay inside your car and keep your windows up. The animals can get somewhat bold since they're in their own environment and while I didn't quite see any animals walk up to a car..I did see a few crossing the road and curiously stopping to take a peek at the people. For the most part, they seem to mind their business if you mind yours...but don't test them...again, do not get out of your vehicle. All in all, we had a good time and I would certainly recommend it especially to parents of young children and every child at heart.

The zoo has everything you could possibly want to see; from tiny animals to monkeys, giraffes, gorillas, big cats, reptiles, birds, and just about anything in between. Every exhibit is well kept, exciting, and full of opportunities to learn something new while having a great time walking around. One of the best parts is that you do not even need to know much about animals going in because you can take a tour with an incredibly knowledgeable guide who seems to know everything about every animal in the zoo. It makes the experience even more interactive, interesting, and memorable. Whether you are going with family, friends, or even by yourself, the Philadelphia Zoo is absolutely worth visiting and continues to be one of my favorite places year after year.

The zoo really did a good job creating an interactive environment for these cute little animals. I enjoyed the wide variety of animals the zoo offered. The lion was particularly vocal when we passed by, and we got to hear several roars. Cool! A gorilla was taking advantage of the overhead animal walkways. He was snoozing in the tube right over our heads! The was my second visit, and I would probably go again.

Sure this is a small aquarium, but there's still lots to see and do. You can easily spend 2 hours walking around and checking everything out. It's a great way to spend a day by the beach in the winter - especially if it's sunny out so you can walk the boardwalk after. Anyways, back to the aquarium! My kids (2.5 and 4.5) had a blast. We loved watching the seal feeding and the penguin feeding. There were so many fish and reptiles to check out, and even some land animals like little monkeys and parrots. There are some seriously impressive sharks, jellyfish, sea horses, turtles. I could go on and on. A special highlight was also seeing a real life Axolotl - my girls have been obsessed with this animal lately. We got here close to opening so it wasn't hard to find a spot. I'm sure it can be mayhem if you come on a summer beach day! The gift shop at the end was cute, but don't get lured by the low prices. I got my girls each a plastic mermaid for $5 (felt low for a gift shop) but everything cracked and broke after a few minutes of play time. This was a perfect little activity for my kids, and I could definitely see us coming back again.

Since then, this venue has gone downhill fast, and is currently at the bottom of the hill. Some of the animals are gone, the glass on many tanks and enclosures are very dirty, and the water in many tanks is cloudy. Tickets for general admission are $20 for adults and $14 for children. They had a 25% discount offer when we purchased them. The pricing structure for interactions is especially disappointing. Food and animal interaction tickets cost $2 each, and entry into certain exhibits requires two tickets per person. For a family of four, that's $16 for what amounts to a very brief, five-minute encounter. Staff members walk around with small animals, such as a rat, and offer children the chance to pet them -- for two tickets per child, or $8 for about two minutes. The touch tank was sparse: a few lobsters, one visible starfish, an anemone, and little else could be seen. The parakeet cage, which was a highlight last year, has also changed. Visitors are given a small stick with a bit of food at the end. Parakeets land briefly, and within about three minutes, we were ushered out. That short experience cost $16. Woodbridge Aquarium & Wildlife Center needs a significant overhaul. While indoor activities for young children can be limited in winter, I would recommend saving your money and looking elsewhere.
