We hired them to simply install Goove pro lights in November of 2025...as of March 2026 we still do not have working lights. After our initial conversation, Nick demanded a deposit (after a story about how he has been scammed before). On November 18 a deposit was paid and we waited. He would reach out every so often about jobs he just completed, and saying "you're almost up"., this went on for over a month. After many booked times (which we rearranged schedules for) of him not showing up - he finally came two days before Christmas and finally "finished" the job on Christmas Eve as we tried to host family for the holiday. I will give him props for working through extreme cold, lack of day light, and everything else to get them done...but that's where the positives ended. The final invoice came in about 800 dollars over what he quoted, he gave us less than a week to pay before he started messaging two - three times a day asking when it would be paid even though the invoice had a due date a month away, and kept it up till it was paid. This shift from nice business man - to shake down for money - was such an uncomfortable change as a client. And again - I wish that is where it stopped. The lights worked and looked great...for all of 3 weeks. January 16 they went dark...I reached out (cause we bought a "warranty") and reached out....and reached out.... Each time I had to explain the problem, each time I got the run around of issues in his life as why he couldn't come fix it, each time the hope our lights would be fixed dwindled. He would not tell me what the warranty covered, refused to refund any money, and clearly made no moves to schedule a time. And now we sit in March, 5 months after the first conversation with broken lights. With my husband blocked from his Facebook page. With a 20 page Word document of conversations. And still NO LIGHTS! So I say again .... DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!

Be cautious with Tom Taber's Whole Tree Care by Trapper's Tree Service. I recommended their…read moreservices to two of my neighbors, but afterwards discovered problems with their last job for me (e.g., the stump grind in 2016). Gale (I assume their sub-contractor) was to contact me BEFORE coming out to do the tree stump grind so I could give my neighbor a heads-up to remove their fence panel for complete stump access. Not only did Gale (or anyone from Trapper's for that matter contact me in advance) but the job was done when I was out of town. Since I was not home (or notified) I did not have time to request that my neighbor have his fence panel removed which he agreed to do if I gave him the heads up. The fence panel needed to be removed so that the grinder could access the complete stump via my neighbor's property. Also, this company left me with a huge pile of mulched wood to clean up which I would have been more than happy to pay to be removed. Once I removed the large pile of mulched wood from the stump area, to my disappointment I found that the stump grind had not been completed. I followed up with this company with no return phone calls or emails. I can not recommend this company.

I needed two trees cut down at a very difficult island location in BUCKEYE Lake. They were not able to bring any of their heavy vehicle equipment onto the island. Joe had a crew of six people. They were able to climb the trees and cut off the limbs and the ground crew cut up the limbs and brush. Nate was like a little monkey climbing up the tree! This job was like a lesson in science and math. They used ropes and pulleys with tension. It was a huge job and they tackled it methodically. The ground crew even used a rake to rake up the little pieces and then a blower to disperse the sawdust. This was a difficult job and they nailed it. I will most definitely call them again and you should, too.

I recently hired this company for a large tree removal project that cost approximately $4,100. The…read moretree itself was removed successfully, and I appreciate the work they did on that portion of the job. However, I was disappointed by the amount of damage left behind in my yard. Before the work began, I specifically asked multiple times what to expect regarding lawn damage and was repeatedly assured it would be "minor." I understood and accepted that the area immediately surrounding the tree would be affected, but the damage extended much farther into the yard than I was led to expect (especially given the before/after photos in other reviews did not have the same level of damage). There are deep ruts and holes well beyond the tree's location, and some areas appear to have been filled with wood chips and then covered with pieces of torn-up sod rather than properly repaired. While I understand that tree removal is demanding work and some lawn damage is unavoidable, I feel the extent of the damage should have been communicated more honestly beforehand so I could have made a fully informed decision and budgeted for any necessary lawn repairs. After the work was completed, I sent the company photos of the damage in hopes of discussing my concerns. Rather than acknowledging my perspective or offering a constructive response, I received what I felt was a defensive reply that placed the blame on me for supposedly misunderstanding what had been explained. That response was disappointing and made the experience even more frustrating. I'm sharing this review so that future customers know to ask very specific questions about the potential extent of yard damage and to consider the possibility of significant lawn repair costs in addition to the price of the tree removal itself. I have attached before and after pictures to fully convey the damage that has occurred. While I do acknowledge some of this is natural dormancy, the ruts and bare spots are most certainly not.
