Super tasty quality food, I noticed that on the menu it even tells you which farm the meat came from, or where the ice cream was made etc. The Greek Lamb and the Gammon are both brilliant. The portions are huge and I'm always left with enough food for another meal but save room for the Holly Bush sundae because you wont ever have a such a selection of tasty locally made ice cream :) The prices are great too, last time I went it was around 30quid for the 2 of us.

Don't expect a very quiet country pub as beer garden is next to the west coast main line. If you like trains thundering past you at over 100mph then that won't be a problem. That said the beer garden is rather attractive, not so large you can't keep an eye on the kids, but big enough that they can do their own thing. The mill building has laods of character, they explain the history of it on their website. Food and drink is solidly good, and can find no fault with it.

Five starters incl chicken parfait, squash veloute and a roasted beets and goats cheese salad. Sweets included chocolate delice and apple crumble. Cheese course to follow. Popped in on the way back from a cold day out at Alton Towers…read more We got a lovely warm welcome, were quickly seated near a roaring fireplace and settled in for a great meal accompanied by some very well kept Hartington IPA. The pub is cosy and friendly, and in a great location for walkers and cyclists on the Tissington trail. We'll definately be heading back soon (to the Royal Oak not Alton Towers, which is another story)!
