The g p. Irrigation district seems to be an agency that has little to no oversight and at best a fuzzy delivery schedule. I have been a user of the irrigation system for about 12 years now,and have always had to call multiple times every year to get service, weather to have it turned on or for low pressure or simply no water at all. This is in contrast to my other utilities,of which in the same time frame have collectively called exactly o times! We pay these services monthly,after the product has been delivered and used. That way we have recourse to the supplier to stop payment until service is restored. Should We not also have this with the district? Maybe some pro rating when service is interrupted for long than a day? And IF we cannot come to an agreement to rectify the. Continueing shortcomings with an honest format with consequences to management,. Then, maybe as a last resort , A filing of a CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT on our behalf would be justified FOOD FOR THOUGHT FOR BOTH MANAGEMENT AND IRRIGATION USERS. Very aware of the Irrigation District's reputation, I nevertheless called for service as my outlet valve was old and defective. Riley the District employee arrived and promptly repaired the outlet and I was back to full pressure. Well, I agree with the young lady's review stating Grants Pass Irrigation District does not return phone calls. One thing about them, they are the king of negative reviews. If GPID is responsible for clearing out blackberry bushes growing out-of-control in easement owned by Grants Pass on Thelma Lou, they are not doing their part, other than making the subdivision on Andy Griffith more vulnerable to fire! read more

They billed us right when we bought our house. We don't have any irrigation on our property. We called and told them this as well as asked for someone to come out and show us. They never did, and now they took it to court without us knowing, the head guy of this place swore under oath we have irrigation. Now we have a Lein on our home and owe over 700. We even have proof it's no where near our property. Proof by another governed company. read more

The Grants Pass Water District likes to take money from their customers. I was new to having to pay them with a new house I purchased. Instead of them making sure they have my contact number and information they put a lien on my house and billed me $300 on top of the outstanding bill. They have poor customer service. read more

It has been approximately six long weeks since I requested 'opt-out' paperwork from the Grants Pass Irrigation District. I have called multiple times, and gone into the office once (yesterday). Unbelievably, they cannot tell me when I will be able to fill out the paper 'interview' - why is that a problem? I am willing to do it now. They cannot give any kind of an estimate of when I will hear from. them! I asked if this process had been done before, and how long it took. They said it had been done before, but they had no idea how long it took. Am I missing something here? Should I be contacting legal advice? I know they will charge me a huge fee to get out from under their yearly bills for no water, but I am willing and able to pay to be done with the deplorable 'service.' There is only a four or five month window to get out from under their authority - are they shining me on so I miss the window? Why won't they take my money, and set me free? They are holding me hostage, and causing a lot of stress. read more

Grants Pass Irrigation is just another name for extortion. You are forced to pay over $200 a year or face a lien being placed on your property. What do you get for that money, the possibility that you will get water every 10 days to irrigate your property. I say possibility because your scheduled day may come and go and no water is turned on. When you call the office they have every excuse in the book why it's ok to not get the service you are forced to pay for. Yes, you may be able to opt out at their discretion and at the cost of approximately $1000. This is the most frustrating and anger inducing department I have ever dealt with. read more

I have had my home for 10 years and I have been forced to pay this bill even though I've never once used the irrigation here. There is not even a pump or anything to use it with. Finally last year I stopped paying it. I am now getting letters in the mail after having spoken to this woman saying that I can't even opt out until next year and that I'm required to pay it by law. Why the fuck do I have to pay for something that I don't even use??? I've had this house for 10 years I paid it for 8 without an issue because I didn't know what other options I have and I still am trying to figure out what my options are. They wait till after the opt out to tell me that I can but I'm required to pay this anyways or they're going to put a lein on my house. I want to Sue these people for the last 8 years and get my money back. Anybody have any options here??? Maybe we can all band together and file a class action lawsuit against them. The lady there was unbearably rude. These people have no soul. And apparently it doesn't matter if I use it or not I'm still required to pay it. These extortionists need to be stopped right now. I have literally never one time used it since the day I moved in in December 22nd of 2010. I want to Sue them, I want to Sue them into the ground. There isn't any pump to use the the irrigation at all. I don't even know what they're talking about. I just bought my first home approximately 6 months ago and during closing my realtor told me that the seller had paid for irrigation until Jan 2018. I assumed this was some kind of local service for gardening etc. Little did I know that it would turn out to be a mandatory annual fee for irrigation that I don't need and couldn't use anyway, since last July, nothing would even come out of the pipe coming up out of the ground in my side yard. What a scam! Why don't the residents who don't want or need this questionable service all come together and see if they can get the whole thing changed? read more

Grants Pass Water Irrigation District is knowingly creating a public environmental health issue. We have polluted water running through our backyards that eventually dumps into the Rogue River. They allow pesticides and herbicides to go unmonitored and simply have a disclaimer on their site to tell people to stay out of Skunk Creek, the creek that they " killed " courtesy of the quasi-government agency that they are and with the blessings of the city of Grants Pass and two counties. Now we have a mosquito issue due to GPID draining the water levels. High water temperatures, polluted water, stagnant water breeding mosquitos, and high turbidity all running through our city to finally be dumped into our beautiful Rogue River, " protected by Congress." Nope. When it comes to the Clean Water Act, they are exempt, We The People are not. Hoping for the day when they are held accountable for the damage they are doing. read more

We are having the same problem. We often have no water in the ditch so we can not use it. And often when there is water in the ditch it is not turned up high enough to use. Was just wondering if anyone else has this problem?? read more

I am very happy with the GP Irrigation Dist. I'm on a well which does not yeild enough water for the house and the irrigating. GPID keeps my place green and supports my plants and garden all summer... The only thing I wish would change is that they could get it turned on a little earlier in the year when I first put my plants in the ground read more

GPID does not charge a yearly assessment fee for water! The yearly assessment fee is for operation and maintenance. If you have been in GP long you would know that a lot of the irrigation ditches and pipes etc are old. The irrigation crew is working hard repair and fix if not completely update the system. If you live in the city limits and are forced to pay the cities pricing for water during the summer months you will be happy to supplement the irrigation water in lieu of the city water. AND yes as with any other bill you do not pay and you have been contacted over and over again, a lien will be placed on your property. Just as you don't make your mortgage or auto payment, you will face consequences! read more
