She was patient, super clear with instructions, and knew how to boost my confidence behind the wheel. Initially, it was quite hard for me to look out for a female instructor in my area, as they were not easy to find. Fortunately, when I found her, the best things happened by the grace of my almighty. When I met her, she advised me in such a caring way, which saved me a lot of money. I have used my husband's car, and she advised me what to do and how a minimum lesson would help me pass my test. She has been very helpful and understands my driving-related anxiety. Ellen has always motivated me, which makes me positive, and it was a very big YES for me. What infuriates me most is how I built myself up to being focussed for each lesson and had to deflect his negative comments. The day of the test we are heading for the Test Centre and he blurted out " that if you can't speed up " we were on a sharp turn -" I should not be driving!" Again I blocked it out. But then despite all my hard work, my hard earned cash spent, I failed. Ultimate slap in the face is when Richard you view as a gentleman, kicks me out of his car when he drives me home because I did not answer and questioned his success rate. Do think again when telling the drivers learners that Richard is kind. Rather kind of a bully!!!!!

I'm currently having lessons with Lanes, and am very satisfied - the lesson rates are extremely…read morereasonable, they pick you up from your front door and drop you off/let you drive back (depending on how far you've got!) so there's no need to travel, and my instructor is patient, not too passive (i.e. he'll tell me when something's wrong, but won't get worked up about it!) and has a good sense of humour. Very impressed so far - may it continue until I (eventually) pass!
