Grants has twice failed to show up at my location to start my car when dispatched by AAA. After repeatedly missing the promised arrival time, their truck drove right past my house. The driver then falsely reported that he had knocked on my door and got no response. That is impossible as I have been watching for 3 hours. My car broke down on 11/24/21, driving from Wva, to Ocean City after crossing the Bay Bridge, we heard the knocking sound from the engine. Was able to drive to few places that was recommended but, was told to stop at Grants Towing (was so glad I did). The Owner Mr. Grant, showed me the BEST service and helped so much with getting everything setup for the towing process of getting my car towed back to Wva on the following Monday. I could not have asked for the BEST customer service from any place. He made us feel so comfortable and at ease. Since everything was pretty much closed or about to close since it was Thanksgiving eve. Could not find a rental car anywhere so glad my friends sister who lives in Ocean Pine came to pick us up. I burned up my alternator, and when I was getting a new one at the Part's store, Taylor from Grant's Automotive showed up. He told me that they were a AAA towing and repair facility, and if I got it towed to them, they would reprioritize their work to get me fixed asap. They got me out the door in 2 hours (including the time to tow me there)!! I was in a bind and they went the extra mile to take care of me. Thanks!!! Do not leave your vehicle with these people! My vehicle was not starting, so we had it towed to them ($50). They ran a $48 fuel pump test and found that it needed replaced- an estimated cost of over $800. Well, at that time there was no way to afford it, so I had it towed back (another $50). My brother is an auto mechanic, but in another state. The fuel pump itself costs around $200, so he had to take off work and drive over 5 hours to Easton, then took it back home to work on it himself. Well, my brother calls me back to tell me its the relay switch- a part that costs around $2. So, now I'm out about $150 and my vehicle. I called Grant's in disgust, and all the owner could tell me was "99 out of 100 times its the fuel pump that's the issue." Well, why didn't you check the least expensive things before jumping to the $800 part?! They want your money, that's why. read more

Had my vehicle towed here because it overheated. We had tentatively diagnosed as a head gasket but grants in all their wisdom said it was only a thermostat. We counted ourselves as lucky and paid the $289. The very next day 60 miles from home my car breaks down on the way to a concert out-of-state. The very next day. Same problem. Overheating and overflowing. The. Exact. Same. Problem. This time I had to pay someone else to tow my car and I had it sent to the dealership where they diagnosed blown head gasket's with the whopping price tag of $3300. I called grants hoping they would warrant their work and at the very least refund what we paid for incorrect diagnosis and incorrect fix. While driving on RT 50 in Easton at approximately noon on 1-22-15, one of their drivers cut over 2 lanes with no signal. They quite literally almost sideswiped my vehicle forcing me to brake and swerve to avoid them. Traffic slowed and I noticed the driver was on his cell phone, obviously distracted. After witnessing a simple driver breaking multiple laws and almost colliding with me, I can only imagine how their business operates. read more

I, and my fiance, have been taking our cars to Grants for almost two years now. They are super affordable and always do an Excellent job. One time they even spent almost 3 hours trying to get a rotation just perfect, for still the same $69.00, probably the best auto shop on the Eastern shore!!! read more

I can not thank everyone at Grant's automotive enough! On the way to Ocean City for vacation, my car broke down. I had been looking forward to this vacation and after driving for around 5 hours, breaking down was just terrible. After calling AAA and waiting in 95 degree weather for 45 minutes, my car was towed to Grant's. They immediately looked at the car to figure out what was going on and fixed it! There were no promises at the beginning since they obviously were unsure of the issue, but they did everything they could to get us back on the road that same afternoon. He said they usually like to keep the car overnight and drive it a few times, but they really listened and understood our concerns about continuing our vacation. It was given a long test drive and we were on our way! It was expensive (the part was 280 alone), but worth it. The customer service was more than I could have asked for. read more

Very unhappy with service and attitude of owner. Took van in for AC repair. Paid $800+ for new compressor. Less than one month later the AC stopped working again. Back to Grants. Was told a hose needed to be replaced and he would do it for $325. Waited a week for the repairs. When questioned about when it would be done he curtly told me the supply store sent him the wrong part and he would fix it when the part came in. When I asked him when that might be all he would say was "I will fix it when the part gets here and call you when it is done" No apology for my inconvenience and no concern about how this long delay impacted a pressing need for the van in a timely manner. Wanted to pay in advance for this second repair and was told $325 was "just an estimate". When I reminded him about his previous commitment to do the job for $325, he got very defensive and told me he would not have a final number until the job was done as there could be further costs. BAIT AND SWITCH. When I challenged him on his inconsistency on the second repair cost and on not fixing it completely the first time I was told never to come back to his shop again and he muttered negative comments about me to a co worker. Very surly and unprofessional. Will NEVER go back. read more

Called about 1245 am to have a car removed that was illegally parked in my parking spot at my town home unit in easton md like i have done so many times before. The sign clearly says to call grants automotive. Well this time some guy answers the phone with a major attitude. I explain the situation and his response is at one in the morning. I work nights so my days are at 1 in the morning. So after he gives me the run around he asks for the address. I give it to him. His response is oh we cant get in there our trucks are to big you have to call some one else. That is a bunch of bull crap because i have seen several different grants automotive drivers over the last two years remove several cars from this parking lot for violations and all of the drivers were in tight driving situations.
