We were very impressed with Evan, the certified arborist at Sonshine Tree Care. Evan consulted with us for one hour about the needs and care of various trees around our house, including three Pacific Madronas, four Yoshino Cherries, three Quaking Aspens, one Golden Chain (I'm not certain that is the correct name), two apple trees, and two Dogwoods. Evan is very knowledgeable and an excellent communicator. During the one-hour consult as we walked together from tree to tree, Evan answered all our questions directly and succinctly. He also offered relevant insights about tree care and pruning, including whether and when pruning is advisable, proper management of soils, and how to support healthy root structures. Throughout our conversations Evan clearly and efficiently educated us about the highest priority tree care issues specific to our existing trees, and offered suggestions for the selection and proper planting of tree species we are considering for the future. After we…read morehad 8 trees taken down, we had lots of stumps to grind, some with root systems over 25 feet spreading throughout the front yard. Brad returned my call within a few hours and set an appointment to bid the job. Fortunately for us, he had time that very day to do the job. His bid was incredibly reasonable, and he also included some extra stumps that had been left some years ago. Because his response was so quick, there were several areas where they had to work around the logs left behind and in the way. That seemed to be no problem. They started immediately and worked the job so that I had time to make pathways to all the stumps. There were some tricky situations that took extra care (shallow water pipe from the well), but they took great care and made certain to not go too deep on that one! Being nearly 70 years old, I could not quickly move the rounds away from a mammoth poplar, some with a diameter of over 46", but Walt was able to expertly maneuver their machine around obstacles and got that giant stump ground down. After moving the huge rounds a few weeks later, we found parts of the stump and some large roots that had been buried by the logs and were unreachable. One of the impressive things they said was that if they missed anything, we could call and they would come and get it taken care of, as they guarantee their work. When I called, they responded immediately and were happy to return. They came and ground the rest of the poplar stump and some roots within in 3 days of my phone call. These guys rock and have great service and take pride in their work. Brad will be the one I call if I need more tree services!

It was October 2018 when I needed an arborist to check out some leaning trees on my property. It was late in the season and most arborists were either tied up or would work commercial projects only. Out of the dozen or so arborists recommended by the city, only George at Honest Arborist returned my call. He showed up promptly and gave me a very competitive quote. I was surprised that George is a one man show and really knew his way around trees. He quickly lopped off the lower branches and topped off one tree. Then he climbed up the bare trunk to hop over to the second tree after securing safety lines on it. This is where not being a big guy is an advantage. I can tell he takes great care for safety of himself and my property. When he was done, he hauled out all the branches on a cart. As agreed, he sectioned the trunk pieces and left those behind. I highly recommend hiring George if you need any tree work!
