It's an…read moreentire block of sculptures built out of petrified wood (not sure who the artist is) and "weird wonders" that you just have to see! On my June trip, the museum is open and the waterfalls are operating. Unfortunately, I have more time to wander in late September when the buildings are closed. You can view the sculptures anytime. If you're driving by on US12, you need to swing into the downtown and check this out. Take a half-hour to wander!

He also made a beautiful sculpture garden next door. It's free and definitely worth a stop if you're headed through town. John Lopez, the artist, is also incredibly nice, if you happen to run into him there. This town also has a strange petrified wood park and a little dinosaur museum.

This museum has decent street parking in downtown. The museum showcases several exhibits about North Dakota and the region. There are many items related to the pioneer days with replicas of early settlers and the history of the region. Additionally there are good exhibits on Native Americans and fossil discovery. Several video exhibits are available. The museum is nice and a good stop when visiting the area. They have a gift shop selling North Dakota items. Hours are generous for the area. I'm the first to review this place on Yelp so hopefully I'm not the last.
