I came here to rent a Billy Goat Aerator, and reserved my rental over the phone the week before. I was quoted a price, and since I was renting over the weekend and they were closed on Sunday, they said I could keep the aerator until Monday morning. The pickup for the aerator went well, and I paid for the rental when I picked it up. The aerator itself was great - I had no problems with it and it worked well. When I went to return it on Monday, I was told I still owed a balance, even though over the phone, I was quoted a different price. They ended up taking care of the problem, but I wish it would have been made clearer either over the phone when I reserved the aerator, or the day I picked it up. In the end, I am glad they took care of the miscommunication issue, and besides that one mishap, the rest of the rental process went smoothly. read more

My last two rentals were bad. Last year I rented a pole saw. It wouldn't run. They promptly replaced it, brought it to me. But the second one had problems. I don't remember the details on this rental because I don't usually write reviews, but it was a 10 out of 10 pain in the rear due to crappy equipment. Last week I rented a gas powered auger. It was useless due to a faulty wire. They brought out another one and it was useless because the head came off the bit. I couldn't pull a bit out of the ground without pulling the head off of it. They need to take stock of their inventory and get rid of the crappy equipment. If you need a piece of equipment and you can buy it, you would be better off to buy it and then resell it at a loss than pay to rent a piece of crap. read more

Grand Rental NC in Cary saved the day for us this week! My husband is a DYI person so he often rents equipment. His latest project called for a cement mixer plus two other pieces of equipment. He had ordered a cement mixer from another company. Knowing that he would have a small window in between rain storms, he arranged to pick it up the evening before. Complete value for money and super professional and courteous people. Last weekend I got few tables & chairs on rent from this place and all my guests were wondering from where did I get it and for how much :). So happy with their services. The only thing is transportation from them could be costly as it involves labor, so if you have a large SUV, truck or some sort of crossover even, I bet you can very easily manage to pickup and return your rental stuff. I like their flexibility on return and flat rate for multiple day usage without any extra cost. I parked and walked into Grand Rental Station/ Capital Events (same company). I should specify that I walked through the grand rental station entrance. Inside looked like it was under construction. I laughed but the guy at the counter was super welcoming and friendly and took me next door to capital events to see samples of linens and chairs and more! I was very pleased with the friendly service and choices available. I thought that the quote was very affordable but either way the friendly service would be worth some extra $$$. The gentleman that helped me even recommended a few tips to save me some bucks on top of everything else! I rented a lawn vac last weekend and it kept on clogging up. After trying to get it to work for a few hours and finally resorting to raking again, I returned the vac and told them I had an issue with it. I was pretty frustrated dealing with this company at first. I sent 2 emails over a few weeks and got no response, so I figured that they must not be getting them, so I called. The person that answered was nice and apologized and reserved what I needed. I got to the Cary location the day that I requested and there was no reservation. I was pretty annoyed. However the person at the desk made no big deal about it and got me my tables no problem. Everyone there was very nice and it was easy to get what I needed and return them. The staff in Cary was great! I had a problem with another rental company in Raleigh (through our caterer), who changed the price of a tent heater 3 different times, over 2 days, with the final price being 4 times the original price quoted (clearly they were watching the weather forecast and thought they could continue to squeeze more and more money out of us). I reached out to Grand Rental the day before we needed the heater, and they were super helpful, ensuring me they'd have the heater installed before the event (our son's wedding), at a fair and reasonable price. With unexpectedly cold weather for early April, they could have easily tried to plays games with the price, the way the other place (with the initials CE...), in Raleigh did, but they didn't! When I explained the situation, they were very quick to put my mind at ease, and take away a major concern. I've never had a reason to use a rental company in this area before, but based on the honesty and willingness to help out in any way they could, I would highly recommend Grand Rental Station in Cary, and I will certainly be back! read more
