I looked all over for a piano. I couldn't find an honest dealer. I've worked in the music industry…read moreand know all the dishonest wily tricks. Still, every one I went to felt like entering a shark's den of used car salesmen on steroids. (I don't know what a shark looks like on steroids or if sharks even have dens, pods, schools, or nests, but it can't be anything good). Just turn around and walk away, which is what I did. West Michigan Piano would have none of it. The salesman was quiet. He let the pianos sell themselves, which is exactly what happened. West Michigan Piano is like the Willy Wonka factory of pianos minus the orange elves. They have everything. Within thirty seconds of playing one, I knew that was the one. The prices are what they are, no wheeling, no dealing. What took hours of harassing phone calls, blatant bold faced lies from salesmen and a complete inability to even get a rough price estimate out of the other guys in Illinois, took ten minutes at West Michigan Piano. I couldn't be happier. The piano movers said mine was somehow the heaviest one they had ever moved. They sell Steinway, Kawai, Bosendorfer, Schimmel, Bluthner, Mason and Hamlin and a few other Chinese brands I did not immediately recognize.

I highly recommend Jeff Hall of West Michigan Pianos as a piano tuner. My Yamaha Disklavier…read moreupright needed tuning very badly, and Jeff did an outstanding job of returning the piano to playable condition. In fact, I really enjoy playing again since an out-of-tune piano can be a painful experience. Jeff Hall arrived on time and spent a great deal of time calming down the upper register notes that had journeyed off into the Twilight Zone since my last tuning. If you are in the Grand Rapids area and want a top-notch tuner, Jeff Hall is the one to call.

Brian came to tune my Yamaha upright Disklavier which had fallen painfully out of tune. He quoted me his rate for tuning which, believe it or not, is unusual for Grand Rapids. Other tuners add on other fees and charges that are confusing to say the least. Brian showed up on schedule and did a fantastic job of bringing my upright back to pitch. Now, it is a pleasure to play my piano again. His fee for tuning was exactly what we agreed on by phone. If you have a piano that needs tuning or service, call Brian Bode Piano Tuning and Repair. I HIGHLY recommend him.
