The space is…read morenice and open, and they have a pretty good deal for lunch (13 euros for an app, entree, and dessert). It's kind of like Asian-Spanish fusion, but mostly Asian, and dishes were hit or miss--we either really, really liked something, or really, really hated it. Case in point: the tropical salad starter was a revolting plate of chopped up pineapple in some kind of savory cream sauce Hawaiian pizza nightmare. Buuuuuut the Mexican tosta with spicy fish and avocado was fresh-tasting and interesting. The main course of the steak was a nice portion and well-seasoned (although a bit too raw in places), but the plate of vegetables was essentially just steamed broccoli, bok choy, and mushrooms with a whiff of soy sauce. Desserts were fine, no biggies. Our friend generously treated us to lunch, and we had a nice time, but this place probably isn't the best destination if you're a tourist just wanting to eat tapas all day.

First server didn't speak English, the second one explained the fixed lunch with limited options menu or you can go with the a la carte menu. Went with the lunch menu. Salad with goat cheese and bacon was refreshing, pan fried fish with a tomato based sauce and crunchy potato was yummy and warm chocolate cake was also good. Limited beer choice, more of a wine place. Reasonably priced, nice service. Recommend it.

Full with mixed people, old, young and from all over the world but I guess no tourists at all. The deko is very creative and interesting - it makes you feel comfortable for sure! Prices are very fair! I had a glass of housemade sangria with a lot of good fruit in it and an amazing taste - accompanied by a Tapa, fresh made and this all for 1 Euro only! I've been there once only and maybe for half an hour but I reccomend it highly!

It was packed and extremely busy, yet the service was cordial and efficient. What did we have? Papas arrugás con mojo picón (salted potatoes with a spicy hot sauce, typical from the Canary Islands) and cazón (battered fish, andalusian style). I've wanted to come back ever since! Definitely recommended!!

The space is small and fills up quickly, both locals and tourists come here for lunch. The menu is on a chalkboard and the waiter was very friendly and offered to translate each dish for us. The goat cheese salad was enormous and very good-the greens were super fresh and it was drizzled with some great olive oil. The shrimp egg salad was also delicious and very popular, we saw many people ordering it. The shrimp are big and juicy and the egg salad was creamy and disappeared fast despite the richness. The veal stew was seasoned perfectly and the meat was super tender, I'd order it even on a very hot day. The chicken with pepper was bigger than the plate it came on and was simple and well cooked, we took half home and ate with a baguette for dinner. The desserts are many and are simple little custard/yogurt parfaits which are a great end to your giant and cooked from scratch meal. Check out my photos-we were eying other people's orders the whole time, their fish dishes looked amazing too!

They tell you immediatley that for a burger (beef or chicken) that it will take 15-20 minutes, which is nice to know if you're in a hurry; but who is Spain is in a hurry?! The burger came fully decked out with lettuce and tomato and sme excellent fries, more like potato wedges. A friend who was also there had a vegetable wrap which she raved about and said that she would be going back there at least weekly. Well, she works 3 blocks away, so fine for some. What I liked was that I asked for a beer and there were about 5 different ones to choose from including one from Argentina! I cannot remember the name but took a photo of it that I'll post here. The place is very clean, the waiter who I think might be the manager or owner, spoke decent English, and it was just a really nice place. They also serve cheese cake but the burger filled me up.

They also have a lovely little terrace between Plaza de la Paja and Plaza de los Carros. It's a bit of a calmer street than the two plazas, which both get crazy busy in good weather, though it is small and there aren't many tables. Also, it can be difficult at times to get another round of drinks or extra napkins or something, because classic Spanish waiters... It's nearly impossible to catch their eye. But, worth it. And the service itself (once you manage to flag down a waiter) is usually really good - friendly and explanatory. That said, the last time we were there the waiter forgot one principal part of our order... And though he was very apologetic about it, we still left hungry (because of time restraints). Ask about the beers they have available, there are usually a few interesting ones to try. Lovely English spoken here! And try the ribs!

The Chusquery is located in the corner of the Lasso residence which used to host the Catholic Monarchs of Spain at one time; if you take a look across the street, you will be able to read a plaque describing such events.
