If you care about your mental health and the health of your bank account, avoid this attorney at all costs. What should have been a simple cash transaction involving an international wire transfer devolved into a drawn out tantrum of shirking responsibility and finger pointing. The problems arose when we were informed that his bank couldn't accept international wire transfers, however an intermediary bank would provide the solution. The instructions we were given by his assistant were incomplete. As a result, the transfer was rejected meaning not only did I lose money transferring euros to dollars, but I'll lose more money once the dollars are transferred back to euros. Not to mention the non-refundable transfer fees I won't get back. All of this could have been avoided if the attorney had just either given correct instructions or simply said they couldn't accept an international transfer full stop, then I could have found another solution. As it stands now, I'm no closer to closing on my house and my funds are in limbo for at least another 21 days. And the attorney was not interested in finding a solution. Instead he wanted to imply that I was trying to fraud him because my money happens to be in euros. Well that's the thanks I get for living and working abroad for twelve years. If your looking for an attorney who knows what he's doing, has a staff that is competent, and has a professional demeanor, keep looking.
