In addition, there are a couple of common places to eat like McDonald's and Pizza Hut, yet I do feel there could be a little more restaurants considering the size of the area. Nevertheless, it makes a great day out because you can easily spend hours browsing each store as you walk around from one end to the other. The retail park has a bright and modern feel to it. No surprise it is so popular with visitors, with a huge car park to accommodate.

I bought the eye pencil I wanted and they were a little over keen for me to switch to Boots brand so I could buy something else for half price. I'm not a fan, but I guess others might want to take advantage of a deal. That said, they were friendly and offered to help when I got there, which is better than ignoring customers, I guess! You'll find this shop in the far corner of the retail park - not far from Next. It is a very large…read moresports shop on two floors. As well as lots of clothing etc you can also buy most other sporting goods ranging from footballs, hockey sticks, cricket balls etc. It can look quite scruffy in my opinion. It is very packed and there are usually items stocked high in boxes and racks overflowing. Most of the items have a large discount so I don't really care. For those with children there is a lift to go upstairs, rather than struggle up the stairs. If you're looking for cheap sporting stuff, this is definately the place to go.

Every morning I watch this shop roll past the bus window and wonder how Horsley and his son (who I…read moreshall call Eric for no reason) managed to set up such a business. It doesn't even look like it occupies a real building. The tiny newsagents looks more like somebody left a shipping container at the side of the road and the Horsleys (both the father and Eric) pounced on it and started selling papers and sweets from inside. They say the key is in the location and at 7.20am, despite the bleakness of the neighbouring boulevard, this minuscule shop is always busy with grim-faced commuters in their dying seconds of freedom. I don't know if it was Eric or the Horsley man of the house (probably called Geoffrey) who was on till duty when I called in but he wasn't exactly chatty. I don't mind though. Philosophical silence is something I've come to expect from Eric and Geoffrey. That's so like them. What a crazy couple of guys.

It is very small and looks like it might be temporary, but it has been this way for years. The newsagents, although very small, is crammed with an excellent variety of stock. They sell tobacco products, crisps, chocolate, sweets, soft drinks, magazines and newspapers. Everything is sort of crammed together but the man behind the counter will help you find whatever you need in no time at all. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They welcome you warmly as soon as you walk in and are happy to chew the fat with you. This newsagents has a strong community feel.
