There are 11 grass pitches, one of which is a replica of The Wembley playing service. There is a full size indoor 3G pitch, indoor sportshall (Futsal). The changing facilities are exceptional they have thought of more or less everything. The pitches are available to hire obviously if your team is based this way. Reception staff are friendly and helpful, the ground staff always seem to be out working on the pitches. If you are an England fan they do tours!!!

But their bright yellow kits and their fantastic fans make me raise them to a 4 star. And I've already had banter from some of their fans about not giving them 5 but I have to be objective. I last saw them play in 2011, and will see them play again in time. Founded only in 1960, but an excellent team nevertheless, representing this tiny little northern town with pride and keeping them in the football league with their shiny new stadium. They've been in the football league since 2009... congrats to them. They play in bright yellow which I love, and are forging an identity in an area that usually prefers rugby. They have ties to Derby County which is nearby. They play on Princess Way, and I love princesses, so.

I have done a self-guided stadium tour though, in 2011, when I'd had some of the best fun imaginable in Nottingham (hi Kerry!). There are somewhere in the region of 14 pitches here and all are covered in the latest 'astro-grass'. Not sure if that is the official name for it, but it is the synthetic grass type covering that is a little longer than the old styled astro pitches. The biggest benefits to this place are that it is well run and structured. You can check all your results and latest league positions etc by logging into their website after you have played your game. The referees help make this place that bit better and more professional than other similar centres. Whilst I may not always agree with their decisions (I watch too much premiership) they are always fair and manage to handle the games well and keep teams well controlled. The standard form of leagues down here is to pick a night that you want to play on and then you get games in a league on that night, ranging from 6:30 kick-off to 9:30 kick-off. The game duration is 25 minutes each way and standard five-a-side rules apply. Check out their website and see if you can grab a group of mates together to play down here. Oh and of course they have that all important post-match facility - the bar :-)

I personally play indoor cricket here and have to say if you have not tried it is worth a look. Indoor cricket offers the ideal way to keep your eye in over the winter break from the outdoor version of the game. It is 8 players on each side and there are a few rules you will have to learn before you start to play! But once you get into it then it is a fun game to play with team mates and there is a bar on hand if you fancy some refreshment. They have recently invested in some new electronic scoreboards for the cricket nets and these are smart and linked directly to their website to update your details on there in real time! Another big advantage to this place is the fact that they emply a security guard to patrol the car park ensuring that it is a safe place to leave your car whilst you are inside enjoying the game and a beer afterwards. Well run and good place to go to for indoor cricket, I would say that the football pitches are not in my opinion great as they are concrete walled on the perimiter and this is not the best thing to be bounced into during a game!
