This place is the BEST!!! We have 2 kids enrolled here and they love it. We love it. They teach great self defense. How to stop being bullied and how to stop others from bullying others. They work with the kids on building self confidence and self pride. I would recommend this studio to everyone. I never wanted to join a jiujitsu gym until I walked in here. This place is the best. All my kids go here. All the coaches and workers are amazing. My kids hardly spar with the same kids twice. I have been training here since 2009 and attend 3-4x/wk. The excellent world-class instruction is matched by the excellent world-class niceness of the instructors. Professor Flavio and Professor Felipe make certain that the students always come first with respect to safety and learning. I train in the noon class primarily and the other students are incredibly nice and ego-free. I have never been injured by another student - only when I try something my 50 y/o body should not be doing :) Training with these guys keeps me in great shape and it's something I plan on doing for a long, long time. Most important to me is the nature of the people I train with. Professor Flavio and Professor Felipe really are the sort of people you want in your life. They are honest and caring individuals and this shows both on and off the mats. They set the tone for the school and I think the way the students train and act towards each other speaks volumes of the quality of the leadership that runs this studio. I have been training at GBJJ San Clemente for about 2 months. Felipe and Diogo provide an environment that is engaging and motivating and the other students demonstrate the same enthusiasm and respect for each other and the sport. Gracie Barra SC has the best youth program! After much research, my husband decided to take my 4 year old to GBSC for his first free class. Doug, the program director, gave him a gi to wear and the professors went out of their way to make him feel comfortable. During the class, a coach stayed with my son the whole time, helping him with the skills and training exercises. My shy 4 year old was pumped by the end, and we signed up. We have been there for 6 months, and my son is still excited to go to every class. He is tall and not the most coordinated kid,and BJJ has really helped him get in better control of his body. I just want to thank Gracie Barra San Clemente for changing my Husband and my 6 year old son's lives. My son needed a push to join a sport because he is a little shy at first. We let him do a free trial class and he liked it. He said he wanted to go back and it has been 3 months now that he goes every week.. He has grown in his confidence and strength. He has used the lessons taught by the professors to be on top of his chores, treating elders with respect and looking out for the little guys who are mistreated. He doesn't use physical contact outside of his class but if he was attacked he would have more defense than had he not been taught the amazing art of Jiu Jitsu.
