From the sermons down to the welcome team, every detail is thought out and has a purpose. Everything is focused on Jesus. The church community is made up of all generations and has a warm and welcoming heart. My family was so lucky to have found this church when we were in need of it and feel that we have a community and support system here made up of all ages and walks of life. If you are "church shopping" I highly recommend you come at least three times, to this or any church. Maybe you know it's where God wants you on the first week, or maybe it's one of those special events that doesn't give you the full experience. Three weeks tends to be a good sample in my opinion.

I haven't gotten plugged into a Bible Study or Care Group here yet, so this is not a comprehensive review but is relatively unbiased since I'm not really involved yet. Of course, everyone has their own set of priorities and preferences when they're church-hunting, but hopefully this is helpful: PBF is very relaxed, friendly, come-as-you-are genuine... it doesn't feel like they're trying too hard to create a "chill" atmosphere. It's not a "hipster" church, but they obviously put some effort in aesthetically pleasing worship music slides and a well-done website. The worship band is excellent. Though there are sometimes a few unfamiliar songs (that are well chosen), I like that the worship set usually includes modern worship favorites, with an occasional hymn. More importantly, all these nice but more superficial things don't distract from what makes this a really solid church: the teaching is Biblical, and you can see that this church worships "in spirit and in truth" (and I've found few churches that strike this balance). Pastor Joe Schneider, who is sadly retiring soon, speaks the truth in love... he doesn't water down the Bible, and he equally addresses the parts that are harder to hear and the parts that everyone wants to hear. I feel both challenged and uplifted by the sermons, and I think I will really grow spiritually if I actually respond to what I feel convicted of during them. It seems like Pastor Joe and the church leadership have a solid understanding of the Gospel in its entirety (this year's theme is Gospel 365). The church is actively involved in social action/outreach like serving the homeless and jail ministry, as well as internal ministries like Divorce Care and the usual women's, men's, youth, and children's ministries. I am quite impressed by how this church seems both very "well-rounded" and deep (as in, not just about superficial activity). I feel blessed to have found it.

The church building is am old 40s/50s movie theater (I think I got the era correct). Most of all the people and the pastor are very kind and friendly. The pastor teaches verse by verse and chapter by chapter through God's Word, and he is a very good teacher. This church accepts all sorts of people no matter your color or background. If you like a church that preaches the truth without apology, a church that loves liberty (and Ron Paul), and church that isn't afraid of speaking out about current events than this is your church family. You know, a real church instead of a snobby plastic one.

The…read moreprincipal is unorganized and refuses to enforce discipline, leading to a rise in bullying and a loss of school morals. ​The school is currently over-enrolling students without having the infrastructure to support them. There are no specialized ESL or Special Education teachers available, yet the school keeps accepting students with these needs while class sizes grow to unmanageable levels. It is no longer the high-quality environment it used to be.

I am used to a more upbeat worship singing and live music and Modern Christian songs. The songs at Christ the rock are Slow, kind of dry. Pastor does a great job preaching, however he too is a bid dry and never leaves his podium. If you want to bring in new blood to the church, you're going to have to step it up! I had to try another worship center as I had a hard time staying awake.
