I finally finished and was super excited to return to my home church except the spirit of God had other plans. It was placed on my heart to visit Bethel. From the minute I walked in there was a warmth about the space and congregation. Very unpretentious group of worshipers, no fuss attire more "come as you are". I was also pleased with the number of young people in attendance. The delivery of the service was facilitated by Roderick Caesar 111 who is apparently getting groomed to take over as senior pastor. His style was more similar to that of a teacher and that was a huge us for me. He scaffolded the lesson to include major points from the previous 2 parts so those of us not present could be brought up to speed. Highly effective strategy. I will def be back to worship with Bethel.

Despite not being Lutheran, I immediately felt at home. The church has a strong children and family program, with weekly Sunday school and regular activities for kids. I love the focus on community, fellowship and service - it's been a great way to instill important values in my kids. But even if you didn't have young children, there's something for everyone here. The music is a highlight too - I love hearing the beautiful performances by the choir, organ and soloists each week. On holidays, they bring in additional instruments and it's a really lovely and moving experience.

It's a process to understand but it changes everything and helps us to live out our faith with so much joy! I met Beau and Renata randomly one day about 3 years ago in a Brooklyn coffee shop not knowing they just moved here to start a church. Around the same time I had been praying for God to help me connect with a godly community of believers chasing for Him and His kingdom. I was tired of walking out my faith in isolation. I was also tired of religion and habits, I wanted to be ignited and stirred up. Hope Hill is a great place for people who are seeking a deeper calling and purpose into their faith. We are not a Sunday church we are a lifestyle church. We are world changers knowing and understanding that the change starts with us. God is developing His spirit in us. We are not a perfect church but we are surrendered and open the Lord's keeping and maturing of His body. Pastor Beau & Renata are truly passionate about turning hearts towards Christ in an authentic and deep-rooted way. No, it may not come with the church organ music in the background but it will comes by the power in the name of Jesus and a heart that fully understands the gift of Jesus Christ. If you are looking for a community of friendly and humble seekers who still love to have a good time and build authentic relationships, come visit us!

He is a fairly new priest and has quite a lot of enthusiasm. His homilies are very nice, not too long and not too short. Every Feast of St. Francis he blesses the animals in the neighborhood and has his own little doxie along for the blessing. The organist is excellent. He really knows how to get every note out of his instrument and he's not a bad singer either. They have some good cantors and a nice choir but it is not overdone like they do in some parishes. If there was one flaw, it is that the congregants talk too much before the Mass starts. It's hard to pray there! Otherwise I think its a lovely parish. Also they are very ably assisted by Deacon Stan and Brother Dominic, a Franciscan friar. If you go there often, people will recognize you and you can talk to them. They can be quite friendly once you get to know them. Like most Catholic church congregations, fellowship is not really the focus but like most Catholic congregations, regulars begin to recognize each other. Also, they do have Bingo there. They also have nice parties and special nights, a flea market around the holidays and other fun events.
