When I walked up there were friendly greeters out front and tables with literature about the Church. They were very friendly and welcoming with smiles and handshakes. They also recognize new attendees openly welcoming them during the service. I attended a once-a-year class on what UU is about and I highly recommend it. The church in itself has a sustainable focus of solar panels and a community garden. It's beautiful and huge and also, I was told built on native land that is sacred. It's very inclusive and these are the principles that the members seem to work to embody there: 1). Love Inclusively 2). Grow Spiritually 3). Serve Gratefully 4). & Work for Justice There was an entire Sunday service focused on the foundation of love and even the meaning of the Pride flag represented projected on the wall. This article is very helpful to understand the meaning behind the Pride Flag and others: (https://www.rd.com/list/lgbtq-flags/) The songs where about love for all people which I look for in a Spiritual center-not dogmatic, clicky, exclusive or prejudice against anyone. I like the symbology of the lighting of the golden chalice which means (approved by UU-click on link): (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9cxtNJKmEI) I recommend their community events and to attend. It's a lovely experience.

And had a lot of bad experiences I feel so bad saying that about a church, but I just never felt welcome or wanted in ones I visited before Faith baptist church. I've only visited Faith baptist a handful of times but each time I have felt so welcome! Even in the nursery with my child who gives the hardest time haha they are all the sweetest with helping console him and make him comfy, too comforting us in knowing that if he needs mom or dad they will definitely come get us! I love that! The service as well is always so good to hear! I love that the pastor can and will make people smile or laugh , that makes people feel welcome and to me is great! I love how they take the time to get to know each and every person that visits, I and my husband have only gone about 10 times If that but they remember our name, our kid, and make sure & greet us each time we go! If you are looking for a church that will make you feel welcome and give great service this is definitely the church for you!

Bethesda Churches has 3 locations on Dakota Ave, Clovis Ave., and Marks Ave. This location (Dakota) I attend and they have 3 service options on Sundays (9am, 11am, 6pm) + a live stream. They also have life bible study groups on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 7pm. Service is usually: Worship for 15-30min, preaching, prayer, then offering -- about an hour and a half altogether. On average, about 50 people attend (this is a guess; some times more or less). This is a predominately Black church, but all races attend. Everyone is super friendly and they base the service off of the word. Its more families or older people. I do really wish there were more people in their 20s who attended. I do yearn to find community with people my age, who are focused on their career and root all things in Christ. Paster Tobias teaches, holds us accountable, and makes things fun. What they do differently: They sometimes do interviews with members to get to know them and their story. I've seen them interview a breast cancer survivor for October and a Vet for November. I literally loved this and getting to know what people have faced!! They also have guest speakers, an AMAZING praise team, and they show the word on screen so you can read along. They also do series/themes. Right now is: Live Más. Really cool church and glad to have been attending the past few months!
