City of Colorado failed to disclose $1872.97 worth of suspension damage on a 2016 Ford Explorer and they knew it and I could prove it, Hempstead Police Department in Texas failed to disclose a check engine light on in a 2020 Dodge Charger which resulted in the cam was flattened which means motor is shot needs replacement, failed to even take a photo of the odo like most sellers do that shows a check engine light on, they also put a paper floor mat over a basketball size hole in the driver's side carpet which tells me they were trying to hide defects in the car, also this Police department should know better selling an unsafe vehicle to the public as when I was taking it to the repair shop went to turn headlights on and of course they did not work also and were drilled out and have to be replaced, this Chargers estimated repairs are $6,000.00 to $6,500.00 so let me tell you BUYER BEWARE when it comes to these 2 departments, and by the way GOV Deals will do nothing about it,

Why does GovDeals have just a one star review?? Because you can't give them ZERO!!! BUYER BEWARE. I purchased a gold item, via GovDeals, that turned out to be counterfeit. Their customer support was NO help whatsoever. I then reached out to corporate, who responded by sending me a letter from their legal department. In the end, I was defrauded of thousands of dollars, and to add insult to injury, GovDeals keep their auction fees. Save your money and use a reputable auction sight. read more

I don't know what you changed but it's awful now. We bought TWO vehicles through govdeals. No issues whatsoever. Paid with a CC with BOTH. Vehicles are great. Fast forward to this week and we won an auction for a Tahoe. NOW, you say I have two accounts (which is definitely not the case), both are on probation AND you will only accept wire transfer. So. Jumping through hoops so I don't have to completely cancel my account, that you definitely wouldn't get a penny for, to pick up this vehicle. After this garbage, we will not be using your auction again. Here's a photo of the TWO vehicles, purchased from Lawrence County that I was told I didn't pay for with a CC. The ONLY reason for the two stars was for the vehicles themselves. read more

Used to be a good site however now they have started letting private companies and individuals list things for sale which completely defeats the point of a website called GOVdeals. You now have to sift through a bunch of junk and sketchy no name dealers in order to find actual government listings. They also ruined the site with the redesign, it looks completely the same except for moving everything around and for the pages of items to not hold their place in the list and get resorted every time you refresh or go to a different page number. read more

I won a generator on govdeals.com (auction ended monday) but for some reason the email advising me that i won got sent to my junk box and i did not see it until Friday- 4 days later. Upon finding the email i went on to Govdeals, signed in and tried to pay for the item. It would not let me pay. The only option to pay was wire transfer. I live remote in Alaska so doing wire transfer is not an easy task. I went in to town the following Monday during business hours and attempted to send the wire. I went on to Govdeals website to confirm the wire instructions and i was locked out of my account. I called customer service and the representative was not helpful and rude. I asked if this was normal protocol to require someone to set up and process a wire transfer in 4 business days? I asked how I can avoid these types of auctions in the future. I was told that it says under the payment section of the listing. I went back and looked and i do not see anywhere on the listing that it requires wire transfer. I explained to customer service that it did not have anything in the payment section stating it would require a wire transfer, it actually said "Payment must be made online". She told me i was wrong and basically hung up on me. Not really sure why you would want to mislead your customers, I assume this was an accident and customer service was trying to avoid it coming to light? I wish this would have had a different outcome. It makes sense that you want your customers on both the buying and selling side happy. It does not make sense to mislead your buyers, causing them to default on an item, resulting in a non sale. The whole point of the website is to sell items. Can you please advise me how to identify a listing that will require wire transfer? I have purchased many items and never had this issue. I understand large purchases over certain dollar amount may require wire transfer but that was not the case. read more

This used to be a decent government auction site, and now SOMEBODY has approved the selling of vehicles by third-party entities. This is a disgrace, considering items sold were supposed to be property paid for by taxpayers and made available to people to buy at decent prices. Worse than that, the car dealers are not reputable. read more

The vehicle I purchased had a flat tire when I picked it up which was not pictured nor disclosed when I arranged to pick it up, Also the center main screen was totally inoperable which was also not disclosed. I was quoted $1600 by Ford to replace the screen. Without it the stereo, bluetooth and rearview camera do not work. I suspect neither govdeals nor the selling agency have any interest in disclosing anything about the vehicles they are selling. Govddeals will direct you to the seller's rep who won't have any authority anyway. I won't be shopping again on this website. Wish I would have checked the reviews before I bid in the first place because they are terrible on a bunch of different websites. read more

Super disappointed with this company. My first purchase nice and easy. Won my bid, paid for shipping and got items. My 2nd purchase. Terrible! Seller puts willing to ship in the description. I won the bid. I reach out to the seller, call and email to find out how I pay for shipping. No reply. I call customer service they reach out and hear nothing. I email the seller again nothing and copied their customer service. Their customer service is very nice I will add. I call customer service again, after a period of time they tell me the customer does not like to ship... I live in CA they are out of another state. Had I known that I would not have bid, pretty simple! The customer service said what would I like to do? I said just cancel it. I'm not going to drive there and it's not worth it it's 200 in coins.... Now how am I in the wrong? I did my due diligence. Seller does not like to ship. They want me to pay an $85 cancelation fee.... Because now he is ok shipping it!!! He should pay me for all the time I wasted on this crap! They say my account will be suspended until I pay. Why would I ever buy anything from them again they don't protect the buyers! I guess the seller important one. My caution to anyone is: 1, Don't bid on something out of your area, as you may get stuck paying fees and have weeks of frustration. When you try to do everything correctly. 2. Any contact with customer service either record or follow up in writing so you have proof of your conversations. How about buyers get compensated when sellers fail to communicate! Maybe they would reply quicker and avoid this type of frustration!! read more

I have purchased car and other item through this platform before . Pics can be very deceiving. I have to buy a plain ticket to fly to different State to pick up my car and then a taxi because car was located in middle of nowhere . But this is not all, when I arrived car was very very dirty outside and inside , And had much more dings and plastic cracks that were shown on pictures. Never ever trust pics on this site. They have numerous sellers and their honesty may not be at the very best . Luckily I have paid much less than Dealers price for similar car and I still have that car after many yrs and it runs great . Another funny thing about this business is that they do not require deposit or credit card to place bids, Anyone can just bid. And you never know who you bid against and how serious those buyers are , And maybe seller engage into price boosting,You will never know. I have watched cars for yrs and many go for resale because previous buyer refused. Thas not good, Because anyone can just make up fake name and engage into bidding . Banning the person not doing anything good since their IP could be fake and their name could be fake . Its used to be resonable but lately their prices just insanely high, Its cheaper to buy localy from private people or even dealership . Is anyone that stupid to pay these prices ? This is auctuon, There is reason they are on this site. Otherwise they would have been sold easily localy for top dollar. They might have hidden defects that are not seen. So buyer beware , never ever buy expensive items without examination in person or pay mechanic unless you are ready to be seriously disappointed, They also charge 12.5 % buyer premium fees , aucton fees and other fees . Do you really want to buy that car that badly so you are willing to pay more than at your local dealerhip or private party? No you dont. Do not let them to get you emotuonaly envolved into bidding so you can overbid . Research market well in your area , firmly set your limit ,on top of that add all fees and expences like towing car or traveling and possible unknown defects and problems with car unless you checked by mechanic before sale , remember these people do not care, defend yourself . read more

Horrible payment process and customer service that is one of the worst ever. Hard to believe they are still in business. Slow to provide any level of customer service but really quick to cancel a winning auctions. They received funds less than 24 hours on auction close. Fighting for days to get them try investigate receipt of payment. Both banks involved verified funds were received. I think it says it all when a bank moved faster than GovDeals. read more

This website sells merchandise from government agencies, they know nothing about what, and DON'T tell these government agencies what to tell you or whether to note the condition accurately, hide it or flat out lie, and there's no recourse unless you bought a boat and got a car instead! The management don't care and almost never respond except to send you a short generic answers to specific questions, once you complain about a misleading or defective item (which most are) you'll be blocked from the site and be told to pay 40% of the bid price directly to Govdeals.com (seller does not get it) then you're allowed back to bid again. That's what happened to me last week when I successfully bid on a 2010 Honda civic in ND that the seller only noted needs battery as it's condition. Despite the fact that the car had extensive collision damage on fender front bumber and hood which few distant photos couldn't clearly show and I only found out after I called to arrange a pick up. The seller who was a Police department was understanding albeit not admitting of their failure to disclose obvious defect on the vehicle they're selling saying "it's ok if you want to back out we'll call the other bidders behind you or relist it, but we have no control of what govdeals will say on this" Govdeals.com blocked me sending me $1300 bill and my full page letter to them about what happened got short generic response, saying "once your balance of $1300 is paid in full you'll be reinstated" This company sells stuff they don't own or know like Ebay BUT their government agent sellers have NO responsibility to tell you the truth of what they're selling, or can simply mislead you intentionally or o not. Govdeals.com protects itself with tons of warning and buying "as is" and "you're responsible to inspect the item" clause but since this is online they know public buyers will have to rely on what information is given with. NO RECOURSE regardless of if you're lied to or not. NOT RESPONSIVE CARELESS MANAGEMENT OLD NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY WEBSITE UNRELIABLE INFORMATION ON ITEMS No recourse or reasonable accommodation THAT'S GOVDEALS.COM! read more

If you place a bid and want to retract the bid days before the bid is due to close they don't let you. Called customer service and they said I can't retract a bid, even though that isn't stated anywhere in the terms and conditions. I asked her why and she said because it's a live auction. I asked why can't I retract a bid in a live auction and she just kept repeating herself without actually explaining why. I said someone is the administrator of your website and has the ability to remove a bid, she then said it's in the terms and conditions on the help section of the Website (the help section on the Website is not the terms and conditions). I put her on speaker and went to the website and looked at what she was talking about. Not surprisingly it doesn't say you can't retract a bid. It just lists instructions on how to lower a bid to have a better chance of being outbid. At one point I asked to speak to someone else and she referred me to call customer service. I said I thought this was customer service? She said yes it is....So basically they're just too lazy to do something that any reputable business should be able to do. read more

Caveat emptor!...Let the buyer beware. These guys do not care about the customers at all. You got a problem? Tough. They run a platform where anyone (esp government) can list an auction, much like ebay, but they will not back you as the buyer. Some of the items are great, but if the listing person lies, describes the item wrong, doesn't mention obvious problems, etc, they don't care. Like I said above, some items are great, and I've gooten some good deals, but when they are bad, you can lose big. I bought a truck. It looked great in the pictures, and the listing said it ran and the a/c was good, and everything seemed good. I won, I paid, and took a bus to get it. Turns out, one mirror was hanging off, the dash was broken, the guage panel glass broken, guages did not work, a large hole was cut out of the bed, the a/c was fubar, the engine leaks oil constantly, and I was out 1500 dollars, The truck had been listed by a tow yard, but the listing showed a municipality as the seller and said it was in good good condition. So, be careful, physically inspect if you can, call the lister for info, and check everything when you pick the item up. AND-don't expect govdeals to have your back. Good Luck read more

Even when the auction site makes a mistake, they are not willing to accept they made a mistake and correct it. They are condescending and sarcastic on the phone. If all goes well, the government agencies do have good things to sell. If all does not go well, I don't need to say more. read more

Horrible Customer service. Do not protect their buyers. Fail to resolve issue when seller refuses to release a won item. Will sanction a buyer but not a seller if they have deep pockets. Don't use this site, Use auctions international or other site. See their BBB score..it is horrible. Filed complaints with BBB, my State Attorney Gen. office, consumer affairs about them. read more

Just STAY away from anything that is listed by a NON-Government agency. If it doesn't say it is being sold by a government agency, DON'T bid. Odds are you will be ripped off. It's that simple. read more
