We reached out to her by email and she responded to us expeditiously with a lot of great information we were able to work with right away. After hearing about our situation, she provided us sensible counsel with regards to our legal options and the family law procedures we should take. Laurel is very honest, trust-worthy, empathetic and knowledgeable in her field. We were extremely lucky to have found her and grateful that she represented us. Two days after we retained Laurel and her law office, we were able to get the proper, signed consent forms from the dissenting party. And, this allowed us to get the emergency passports for the children and fly back to the US. Thank you to Laurel and her team for being there for us during a most difficult time.

Our family went through an unimaginable nightmare that I wouldn't wish on anyone. My sister's…read moreex-boyfriend came home one night drunk and violently attacked her and our entire family. He was arrested, but days later he posted bail and was set free. We believed we had an airtight case: over 20 photos showing the injuries, a video of him admitting guilt, and statements from the children confirming the abuse. We thought the truth would prevail without the need for an attorney. We were wrong. Just three days before our family court hearing, he maliciously filed a false CPS report claiming my sister abused the children. CPS showed up without a professional sign language interpreter, despite my sister's deafness, and I had to step in to interpret. The children clearly told CPS they felt unsafe with their father and confirmed the abuse. Even though CPS wrote this in their report, in court his attorney twisted the facts, claimed I manipulated the conversation, and had the report thrown out on a technicality. Within five minutes, the judge shockingly awarded full custody to the abuser, who still had pending felony charges. In the following weeks, CPS reopened the case and we watched helplessly as the children were interrogated under their father's influence. It was the most unjust and painful experience of our lives. That's when we hired Christopher Hernandez in Riverside, thinking legal representation would save us. Unfortunately, Christopher failed us at every turn. We paid nearly $15,000 for constant frustration. He rarely answered calls, forcing me to call multiple times a day just to get any response. He juggled too many cases at once and admitted to it. Worst of all, when it came to court, he repeatedly forgot the facts of our case--facts I had thoroughly gone over with him many times. Every time we appeared before a judge, the opposing attorney ran circles around him, leaving us devastated and without real representation. It was clear he never truly cared about our family or the outcome. In what felt like our final attempt to save the children, we contacted the office at Laurel Buchanan. From the moment we spoke, Laurel's intelligence, professionalism, and genuine care were evident. She listened carefully as I explained the entire case and, within minutes, repeated back every critical detail with precision. Unlike the first attorney, she immediately identified where the court and CPS had failed and laid out a real legal strategy. Laurel showed us laws and protocols the previous attorney never even mentioned. She made it clear we had a legal path to reverse this injustice. Laurel and Wendy fought for us like no one else. Her knowledge of family law was unmatched, and she approached the case with both sharp legal skill and sincere compassion. She battled a dishonest opposing attorney and a flawed system with tireless dedication. Thanks to her and Wendy, we won. The custody order was reversed, and the children were returned to my sister. It was such an emotional victory that my sister cried--and Laurel, who had poured her heart into our case, shed tears with us. Laurel Buchanan didn't treat us like just another file; she treated us like family and fought for us as if it were her own loved ones in danger. She changed our lives. I would recommend her to absolutely anyone who needs an advocate against a broken system or a manipulative opposing party. She is brilliant, fierce, and compassionate--the very definition of what an attorney should be. Thank you Laurel, here I am a year later writing this review and I am still left for words for everything you did for us. When we thought it was almost over for us, you came to save and change our life's forever. We are forever thankful with you and Wendy, and the team. Thank you.

From the very beginning, she went above and beyond our expectations and handled a very difficult situation with professionalism, strategy, and determination. The other party was hiding multiple sources of income and failing to disclose important financial information. Rebecca worked tirelessly to uncover the truth and clearly present the evidence to the court. Thanks to her thorough preparation and strong advocacy, the court was able to see through the misinformation. As a result, our child support payments were adjusted well beyond what we had hoped for. Rebecca truly fights for what is fair and right for her clients. We also want to recognize her amazing team from Lisa to Jason, who helped Rebecca execute everything seamlessly. Their communication, organization, and support throughout the process made a stressful situation much more manageable. If you are looking for an attorney who is knowledgeable, dedicated, and will stand up for you, I highly recommend Rebecca and her team. I sat here for an hour reading all of these positive reviews about all of these different…read moreexperiences these people have had with workers compensation attorney's in Riverside which was hard for me to grasp and understand because from my experience workers comp was hell for me and I never received the proper outcome after having been represented by attorney's in Riverside county and outside of Riverside county. I always got the run around from insurance adjusters while my treating doctors requests and demands go unanswered. I've injured myself quite a few times my 55 years on earth and I never was able to fully recover from most injuries sustained on the job. It always came down to doctors words against your words, the injured. And often times in this business, doctors play God. Like they know it all. And that goes for the insurance adjusters and attorney's as well! Nobody listens to the injured anymore as if our complaints doesn't matter. It's a numbers game. The more money they save, the better off they'd be and the injured always get the short end of the stick because when you consider what they are offering it almost never is worth accent because in the long run your injury may not be completely and fully healed! Why? Because your attorney's didnt push for proper care in doctors and or they didn't appeal the adjusters ruling. And at the end of the day they dont care about the injured they care about saving a buck. And as for attorney's, they play games too. Off your history, your background, your character, can be used against you. We're you dont get 100% attorney representation because of bias feelings towards supposed accusations pinned on your last name where they do just enough to assist with your claim but not fully. And ethnicity plays a part in this too because things dont always work out favorable for people of color believe it or not. So, workers compensation is a complete mess. All my life I've been in the same job, same position. For 30 years. It's what i enjoy. But management and supervisors have numbers to meet. Every day. And in order for numbers to be met we have to work extra hard to meet production standards. So that means heavy lifting and long hours. Mandatory overtime to top it off! So, accidents are prone to happening especially when you hit my age. But more important than that are the few hard workers. I call us, the john Henry's of workers that out hustle everybody that dont hustle which are prone to injuries so, how do we win? As a hard working employee such as myself. If we slack off we get fired. If we dont meet our numbers, we get fired. So we are forced to make a lovong through slave labor. And in slave labor you get accidents and injuries. Simple. So why do employers refuse proper treatment i should say and why do they often make choices that doesn't benefit the hard worker i just dont get it. Now here i am seven months after the fact that i injured myself on the job and i had received some treatment but other treatment i was neither approved or denied. I hired an attorney to fix things. My claim got denied while he represented me. The attorney disrespected me over the phone which resulted in his termination and i end up hiring a new attorney after i spent almost an hour on the phone explaining to him my situation he assured me that they will fight for me which they've done. They appealed some rulings that the previous attorney failed to to. And now im making progress. Mind you, i exhausted all of my edd sdi savings because insurance denied my claim they back retro pay me one month and continued bi weekly payments provided the doctor keeps me out of work. I'm still injured. Going steady with norcos about to get evicted after exhausting all of my benefits for the 3rd time and relationship ruined because of it all and about to walk away from my spouse. That's my life I live after I injured myself naturally and doctors not making proper requests to get the proper treatment and adjusters not approving things and attorneys not working on behalf of you for whatever reason. So my advice to all hard workers is, dont work hard. That way you dont put 30 years of wear and tare on your body because eventually something is bound to happen when you put your best foot forward and listen to all of these bosses barking orders that you need to meet daily. Or else get fired. So this is a real life ordeal that has happened to me that I presently live so I can't give it nothing but one star because the system wasn't designed to help the injured. It was designed to save a buck. And if you so happen to get a good attorney that understands the magnitude of the situation and your injury that knows how the system works that took an oath to protect injured workers that genuinely want to help you wholeheartedly without being bias in any way be thankful because from my experience their are few that operate in such a manner.

From the beginning, they listened, understood what I was going through, and made me feel comfortable. Communication was always clear and direct. Any time I had questions, I was able to speak with William, whether it was over the phone, email, or in person. What really stood out was William's customer service and his ability to truly listen. He took the time to break down my concerns, help prioritize what was important, and explain the legal process in a way I could understand. When it came time for court, he arrived early, was fully prepared, and represented me with confidence and professionalism. Family Court is not always predictable. You don't always get everything you ask for. However, because of how William and The Smith Law Group organized and presented my requests, the judge clearly understood my position, and we achieved what was most important. Even during the hardest moments, they guided me and helped me stay grounded. I would give William Smith and his law group 10 stars if I could. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for guidance, clarity, and strong representation in Family Law.

I appreciate your response, but I need to be very clear: what you describe does not reflect what…read moreactually happened in my case, nor does it reflect the reality I lived while under your representation. You mention that family law is based on evidence. I provided documentation, explanations, and proof repeatedly, including the fact that I was a full‑time student completing internship hours and not working. That information was critical and should have been argued clearly in court. Instead, it was ignored. My ex‑husband's significantly higher income was also not properly presented or defended on my behalf. The result was extremely low support orders that did not reflect the truth of our situation or the needs of my children. You also refer to delays outside your control, but the cancellations I experienced were made by your office, not the court. Every time I went to your office searching for clarity, I left with more confusion. I was told things that never happened, promised actions that were never taken, and given explanations that were vague and inconsistent. Despite all the visits and calls, I never received a clear plan, real updates, or meaningful advocacy. You say your office made "considerable efforts," but from my perspective, the case ended exactly the way it began with no progress, no resolutions, and no defense of my rights. I lost my home, I was left without fair financial support, and I walked away feeling completely unprotected during one of the most vulnerable moments of my life. Regarding fees, I understand what I was charged. What I do not understand is what work justified those charges. The money taken from the sale of my home felt like an additional loss, because I did not see the representation, action, or results I was repeatedly told to expect. This is not about feelings versus facts. This is about the reality that I did not receive the advocacy, communication, or legal action that I was promised. The outcome of my case reflects that clearly.
