Heng Long may be a little more out of the way than other Asian groceries in Köln, but I will always go out of my way to go there. On my first visit I had a list of: makgeolli, rice flakes, peanut paste without sugar or palm oil, sliced refrigerated rice cake, aloe vera drink, dried bean curd sheet, etc. The store had exactly everything I was looking for and more. They also stock gifts, novelties, and cooking instruments. From me to you, it doesn't get better than Heng Long!

It is a bit hidden behind aral tank station in universität but once you look closer it is there! The products range from lots of country and brands, they also have varieties of frozen food especially seafood. Sushi ingredients are by far complete here, and other seasoning can also be found here. They also have so many varieties of noodles, instant or not. The down part is that it is quite pricey, but still acceptable since all asian products imported to europe are also quite expensive. Overall, i find it really nice and you can also sometimes find some asian cooking tour group wandering around the store, if you are interested you can sign up for an asian cooking class.

Heute wurden wir allerdings voll von einer dermassen überheblichen Servicekraft (nicht) empfangen, das war unglaublich beleidigend. Bei unser Ankunft 19:35 (gut gelaunt und voller Vorfreude) wurden wir mit einer dreist überheblichen Art darauf verwiesen, dass man vor 20 Uhr (also in 25 min) keinen Tisch ohne Reservierung bekommt OBWOHL Tische frei waren. Und auch andere Gäste gerade gingen und es keine Schlange gab. Einfach so, weil das eben die Regel ist. Ist mir so noch nie passiert. Daher leider ganz klare Empfehlungen von uns ab heute... besser meiden bis man sich dort freundliches Personal leisten kann, sorry...

It's a fairly spacious restaurant by the Rhine and during the summer months with nice outdoor seating as well. The menu is varied with plenty of options and there are daily specials. We arrived shortly before closing and the only thing I did not like is that, they took the booking and then tried to rush us through. The waiter suggested a starter of baby calamari and scampi in a griddle and it was amazing. My pasta with scampi was not so nice. Coffee great and a nice wIne list of Italian and German wines. All in all a good experience I would happily repeat.
