I came in for a follow-up after an injection that did not provide relief. I explained that my condition has been getting worse and is significantly affecting my quality of life. Instead of discussing a clear path forward or alternative treatment options, I was essentially told there were no further plans and that he does not prescribe certain pain medications. While I understand doctors have their own approaches to treatment, I left feeling like my concerns were not taken seriously and that there was no real effort to help me find a solution. Being told I'm not a surgical candidate but then advised to "talk to a surgeon" was confusing and not helpful. After struggling with this condition for over a decade, I was hoping for guidance, options, or at least a plan -- instead I left feeling worse and without direction. I would not recommend if you are dealing with complex or ongoing pain and are looking for a proactive, solution-oriented approach.

It wasn't the normal in and out epidural. First off I've had several back surgeries, and I have a lot of hardware, plus a tremendous amount of stenosis on the lower back from L3, L4,L5 S1.He tried to go in the side the last time and succeeded, but it wasn't as.successful as today . Because of my stenosis and so tight he went underneath and went below the point and found a very, very narrow opening to slide the needle in,to give me the relief I needed from the injection. He found it and it was extremely successful. I was limping and in a great deal of pain when I walked in his office. Almost immediately. After the procedure and walking to the parking lot I could feel a difference. Now six hours later unbelievable difference and I have almost zero pain and no numbing in my feet. After the procedure he discussed the procedure in great detail and showed me the extremely narrow opening he had, from my stenosis and hardware in my back. If you have pain or need a procedure done , go see Dr Alvarez and his staff and let them work their majic . You will not be disappointed. My many thanks to him and his great staff . To make an extremely long story short, I had begged for an epidural to find some relief from severe neck/nerve pain for 6+ months with no diagnosis. Dr. Battaglia was rude, unprofessional, and accused me of abusing my own medications, lied about multiple issues & told me there was nothing wrong with me except for 1 thing...he told me in the middle of the lobby in front of everyone that my pain was "self-inflicted" cardiac chest pain and I needed to get my "health in check" because I was killing myself. The next day I was in so much pain and in the back of my mind he had me so paranoid, I ended up making an unnecessary trip to the ER. Every cardiac test, labs, and vital sign was perfectly NORMAL. Eventually, I went to Mayo Clinic, where the physicians actually know what they're doing--I was diagnosed with foraminal stenosis at C3-4 & C6-8, which is extremely debilitating. And the treatment starting out is...a CERVICAL EPIDURAL! And medication for the pain! I just had my epidural and I am starting to feel better after suffering for months. These 5-star reviews are absolutely fake and the 1-star ones are mysteriously hidden to the public--I seriously don't know how this heartless bully still has his license to practice medicine. Please reconsider before seeing him or an establishment that supports this kind behavior and treatment of patients...
