They don't really care if the frames they're choosing for you is actually suitable for your face. They just want to make sure you fall in love with frames that are $500+ I got flattered into buying a pair beautiful plastic YSL frames, but being Asian with very little nose bridge, these plastic frames (not very adjustable) are super annoying as they constantly slip off my nose. Seems like advice your "optometrist" office would give you, if they actually cared about you. Well, they did a good job selling me since I walked out of there dropping $1500 for two progressive glasses! Oh, and that's after insurance. Whatever that means because the two "saleswomen" and the guy who also does the "fitting" are clueless and can't explain your benefits to save their lives. Shame on me for falling prey to their inauthentic "help" fitting me for frames. Mind you, when I was getting fit/in shopping mode, they were sweet as pie but when I went back in to ask for an adjustment so my $1000 glasses could fit me better, they could give zero sh!ts. Great customer service as always! We couldn't beat it anywhere else. Overall, Dr. Brill and Sarina are simply fantastic! We really appreciate their awesome Optometry care, a solid process in making us feel safe during the pandemic in their building, and high-quality service at its finest. They truly go above and beyond and have a superb pandemic procedure in place when you go into their building, which made us feel safe and assured. On top of this, they do temperature checks before you enter, require face mask-wearing inside at all times, and have social distancing marks on the floor while you're in the building to prevent any exposure of anything unknown. They even clean all of their eyewear for sale and basically customized the visit to your needs only. I can see that this helps reduce contact with other customers. Heck, they are setting the standard high in pandemic safety vice your average doctor's office. Go figure, right? Anyhow as for Dr. Brill, I would say he's the best and most seasoned Optometrist in the area. Along with him, his office manager, Sarina, is simply amazing and super kind and cool. Simply put, if you need to get your eyes tested, then you should seriously consider going to Dr. Brill, especially if you want quality care in Optometry. He uses state of the art tools and has an old school style to him that is lost with most Optometrists I've been to in years past. But if you need to fill your prescription glasses, beware. Go to Costco instead. Getting glasses, somehow required about 5 visits. They tried to upsell me on this extra layer on the glasses lens to aid in close reading, but it made the lens 50% thicker than any of my prior glasses. (I've worn glasses my whole life.) Then I received numerous excuses on various issues: 1. "It's not that thick. New nosepads will fix it." (Dismissive response #1) 2. After getting indentations on my nose bridge and having to come back again, "We didn't know it would be so much thicker." (They probably fill thousands of prescriptions, how could they not know?) 3. "*Your* choice of frame makes it thicker." (Head scratcher this one, since the prescription itself is what drives the thickness and refraction of the lens. Basic physics. Not the shape of the frame. So now they are blaming the patient?) 4. "There aren't any scratches on the frame." "Oh yes I see, we'll order new ones." "The scratches on the frame are barely visible, but we ordered them anyway." (Strangely inconsistent and flipflopping) I don't understand giving a patient a hard time when all they want is a pair of normal glasses of normal thickness that have not been scratched up. How hard is that? After my 5th visit, I did get audibly upset, and I shouldn't have. I was reasonable for the first 4 visits, but after that, it gets ridiculous.

I have had many, many eye doctors and Dr. Izaac was the most thorough optometrist that I have ever been to. Not only was the exam hitting all the bases ( and a few that I have never even heard of before), he was extremely nice and explained everything that was going to happen. He took the time to really answer my questions and explained things about my eyes that I have never known before. He has this retinal scan that they take of your eye and then show you pictures of your total eyeball. It was pretty cool. This procedure is not covered by insurance and the cost is $39, but there is absolutely no pressure to purchase this and it does give you a visual peace of mind that your eyes are healthy. His optician ( I can't remember her name) is also really helpful and spends the time with you to find the best financial deal with your insurance. She also scheduled me in to see Dr. Izaac really quickly since I was having problems with my contacts. I already had frames for my glasses, so I don't know about their selection or prices on those, but once you are a patient, they will give you a discount on your eye exam. Honestly, if you are looking for a good eye doctor, Dr. Izaac is your man. The office validates parking for an hour, or there is plenty of metered parking on Ventura, and the office is really pleasant.
