Shoutout to the goody shop. The stoned teens working hooked me up despite arriving at 9:04. They close at 9:00pm on a Saturday. Strange business strategy to close before dark on a summer weekend. However that is probably above the teens' pay grade. I ordered a medium but I think the teens were having a contest to see how big they could make the cone. I was the beneficiary of the experiment. Totally unacceptable I bought a blue shake and a kid you not folks. It had three pieces of plastic inside the ice cream. I nearly choked and one went down my throat. We stopped by to get my dad a banana split because after all, it's his 74th birthday today! All the gals working are super attentive, patient and sweet while my dad ordered his banana split and a coney. Their coneys taste very good, very similar to another famous chili restaurant we all know dearly in cinti. And I couldn't help but get a blue ice cream cone that tastes exactly like KI. My better half got a bl*zzard and it was HUGE. They are very generous with their portions. We sat down in one of the picnic benches. Plenty of parking and plenty of trash cans. Place is clean. This place use to be a fun atmosphere but now the staff if very rude. It's a bunch of students who don't know how to listen to your orders.First they over charged me and told me the only way they refund me was to re charge me and refund that, which still wouldn't have refund my original order. This is the first time I've tried this place. Driven by tons of times. I didn't know what I was missing. They've got a ton of flavors. Different flavors have upcharges.Toppings cost extra. 75 cents for a little sprinkle of crunch topping seemed to be a bit much. The girl at the drive thru was very nice and helped explain the menu. Being it was our first time, I'm glad she was patient. Most everything costs about 3-4 dollars. I got the blueberry ice cream in a waffle cone with crunch topping. The ice cream was so creamy and tasty. It wasn't icey our melty, my biggest fear when trying new ice cream, especially at summer dairy bars. If you want a twist, it can only be done with chocolate or blueberry. They have do many flavors, i can't wait to try the next one. Too bad it's so far from home. Spurred by a recommendation printed on the window, 'Try the homemade cheesecake flurry with blue ice cream or strawberries' I decided to go with the blue ice cream option. The response was that they don't have that anymore - they replaced it with orange sherbet. Perhaps its time to update your signage? So, I got it with strawberries instead. My favorite place to go and get ice cream! My parents always make a late dinner so around 8 we go up and it's typically got a good crowd. The ice cream is just the right consistency but sometimes the chocolate tastes like grippos, which you might not know of if you're not from Cincinnati. I love that once Kings Island opens they get the popular 'blue ice cream'. There flurries aren't as blended as a blizzard from DQ is but they are a lot larger. It's a place that has shared many memories for me while growing up and I will continue to make a stop at least once a week throughout the summer. read more

Another employee was exposed at home and both employees were working with customers even after their manager knew they had been exposed. I go to this ice cream shop each summer. It gets busy, but that's because of the quality and service. The staff is friendly and they try to be as quick as possible. The physical shop is open air with tables in the grass and plenty of space for kids to play supervised by parents (there is a busy road in front of the shop). The food is mediocre, but exactly what you expect when you get ice cream. I personally love their hot dogs and nachos and cheese. They have flavored ice cream as well as flurries and sundaes and many other treats. When I was younger I would get the Clancey Clown. An ice cream come with sprinkles and candies to make a face. I grew up in NKY, so I had no idea about the Goody Shop until I married an Ohioan and moved to Colerain Twp. YUM! We go at least twice a week during the summer. I'm a big fan of the dipped cone and sometimes mix it up with the Reese's cup Flurry. SO much better than DQ - their flurries have big chunks of candy in them. The drive-thru is handy when you're on the go. I haven't had much of the food, but the footlong hotdogs are good, I'll say that. I have a very bad taste in my mouth for this place due to the strong dislike for serving anything other than ice cream. My sister myself and our two kids came through the drive through today and we wanted lunch and ice cream. We waited in a line wrapped around the building like everyone else. Before we ordered i told my sister I've had issues getting good service in the past anytime you ask for anything more than an ice cream cone. So we pull up to the mic and order two pulled pork sandwiches one cheese dog and to coneys along with 3 small ice cream cups and a malt. As we ordered the older short blonde haired woman asked if we had our order written down..when i stated no ( i mean why would i) she scoffed and told me to go on with the order..and she then passed the order off to a young girl who repeated it back wrong... Once we came to the window we were met with disgust and asked to repeat parts of our order 2 more times for a total of 4 times telling them what it was we were ordering. We were given our ice creams first so they melted away while we waited for our food and once we got our food the same older woman appeared to chastise me and tell me if we wanted to order big orders like that again to call first so ppl dont have to wait. I waited in the same line and paid with the same green money. I didnt think slapping hot dogs in a bun and premade pulled pork on a bun was so difficult. She gave me the riot act for about 2 mins longer again while our ice creams melted all over...and this isnt the first time ive gotten this attitude when ordering a meal there. Dont offer it if you're bothered by making it. That lady is lucky i was minding myself because i really wanted to tell her where to put that attitude. We have lived in the neighborhood our entire life but ice cream is a treat and luxury if you will and i dont need all the sass for it. They don't stay open late enough on the weekends. The ice cream is just okay. It's not very creamy. It seems more icy then creamy. When I've ordered sundaes through the drive-through I get annoyed because even though I only live about three minutes away they put them in such a small bowl that by the time I've gotten home there toppled over and turned into a mess. This place is my childhood to grownup staple in life! There are over 23 flavors of soft serve ice-cream and all can be made into a wonderful smiley face cone! Though its a distance from the heart of the city, it is worth the travels and has by far the best varieties of soft serve whippy dip treats to beat the heat. (The goody shop must just bring out the rhymes in me... What can I say?) Let us not forget that whippy dip is up there on the scale of importance in Cincinnati's food culture with (dare I say it) Skyline and Graeters. In my opinion the Goody shop is the perfect place to explore all the flavors of Cincinnati's vast ice-cream culture. Outdoor seating only, but why would you want to go inside when you have an ice-cream cone to keep you cool. Everybody wins under the shade of the goody shops outdoor shelter.
