About 35 years ago in California, I bought a beautiful Oil Brushed Bronze floor lamp for my mom's…read more50th birthday. It had 2 side lamps, and a top dimmer lamp. Well, after assembling, disassembling, and reassembling it 8 times for moving, the move to Georgia was too much for it. And, the tube threads were stripped. Taking to the only lamp repair place within 30 miles didn't help due to the type of male threads (bushing vs bolt). And, even ordering one from Amazon didn't work, as the side globes didn't seat properly. So, for sure, I thought I'd be getting rid of the entire lamp. But, I kept the shades, and hoped that one day, I'd find a suitable replacement. And, yesterday morning, I did! Yay!While this floor lamp isn't identical to mine, it did suit my needs. Especially, since it'll be put in a corner, the single side bulb is probably a better bet. Even though the lady from yesterday wasn't working, the lady today was just as nice. And, very helpful, as she held the lamp While I unscrewed the original shade holder. After checking to see that the top shade fit (see picture; the shades are from my lamp), I bought it. And, even better, by paying cash, I got a 10% discount. Yay!

I had not planned on stopping by here so soon. But, after Larry and his helper came by yesterday to…read morepick up some items that I donated, I had to get a receipt for tax purposes. I called them on Monday, and informed Larry that I had a recliner, full size adjustable bed and a few shirts to donate. But, would they be able to do a pick-up? And, though it took a few days (as expected), Larry called me late yesterday morning to let me know that he could come by around 1. After agreeing that the time would work, he showed up at about 1:06. Unfortunately, and because of the recliner, they couldn't get the bed into the truck. So, they took the recliner, and came back a little later for the bed. Today, I stopped by to see the place, and get a receipt. Now, don't expect this thrift shop to be on the level of Goodwill Industries. Like the small town of Mville, this shop is small. And, is only open 10-4, Monday thru Friday. But, they do have a nice selection of clothes, books and dishes. But, not much in the way of furniture.

By far my favorite thrift store in the Augusta area. They have everything here- clothes, shoes,…read morebooks, movies, appliances, furniture, toys, decorations, etc. Every time I come here they have something new. Most items appear to be in good condition and are very reasonably priced. I was able to get an entire bag of clothing for only $10. The store is run by a woman named Pat and several volunteers. All proceeds from sales here go towards running a homeless shelter for women and children. Whether you're thrifting to try and save money or reduce your environmental impact, I highly recommend checking this place out. They're also looking for volunteers, so if that's your thing this is a good place for it!

They still offer 50% discounts depending on tag color. Their carts are the one's with poles to prevent them from being removed from the premises. This is how it is done in my home town. If you need to use the restroom, you willl need to ask a cashier to get the code. I will definitely make this store a regular stop.
