When o asked the day person in charge he stated that the out the flag up there so they could direct people to the bathrooms. Really! He said people were "Stupid and couldn't read"! Highly disappointed in Castaways! No one seemed to know who was in charge of the six church group that sponsored Castaways! Personally the display of the flag is disrespectful and unpatriotic! All Veterans should consider shopping somewhere else! Arrived at Castaways early Morning on July 2025. Our favorite place to look for great deals at at a reasonable cost for a worthy cause. The only complaint I have, as a Veteran, is the display of the U.S. Flag. The American Flag is displayed above and to the right of the Bathroom. Personally, I would consider that display to dishonor the flag and what it stands for. Perhaps the person who was told to put it up did not take into account what was underneath the Flag, an honest mistake! I would hope that the Manager of Castaways would look into this matter and place the flag in a place showing Dignity and respect. Signed a Veteran!

From what I saw, the inventory did not indicate or suggest there would be a high price. My buddy is a huge thrifter, so when he says "pricey," then that is the case. Also, the cashier ladies were slow as molasses. We spent an additional 5 minutes for 3 items. I was not at the front to see what was going on. 5 minutes on top of waiting to cash out, it is a long time. It is a thrift store, so you can't expect HEB level speed.

There is enough parking for a dozen or so cars out front. They have a large children's clothes section and even have wedding dresses for sale. They do have a decent amount of furnishings, dishware, shoes, music, purses, etc. In the back of the store they have a large warehouse area filled with glassware, some electronics and women's clothing.
