It's good that they have these, and the whole charity think it's a great concept. It's a little cramped in here, not always friendly, but good concept, and keeping it separate was a nice idea, but annoying if you want to both drop off and buy.

But it turned out that this gem was the real highlight of our day. First, it's HUGE! There is no doubt that this is the largest, brightest, and most well organized resale shop we've ever visited. It's so well thought out, and it's actually attractive. Unlike comparable venues, this one is not messy, but rather everything is in it's place, easy to locate, and a superb bargain. But the greatest value when visiting here is the staff of volunteers. They are nothing less than wonderful, with their incredibly hospitality and their very obvious joy in being there. They were so helpful, and accommodating. We spent some time with Elizabeth, Pearl, and Laura. What a wonderful way to pass some time. It's hard to express how they extended themselves to make certain that we left entirely satisfied. We just couldn't wait to let others know that this little jewel is there waiting for you on Blalock, and to tell others that they'll be completely pleased when they stop by. The parking lot is no longer an issue as they have completed their renovations. I love the selection of children's books and adult books which are priced at low prices. Note that they moved locations recently so the map we used wasn't updated. New location is across the main road running through Hempstead from the big courthouse looking building. Check it out! I was told by the employee " those are Ariats", so the nicer things are priced higher. They were the ones that were in his size and the ones he wears normally. I'd honestly rather run down to South Texas Tack and buy them brand new at full price before spending that on a used pair, that were already ragged at the bottom. It seems as things are donated to y'all, you would rather move the items quickly to make room for new items but instead I saw the same things sitting on shelves that were there when the store first opened (because the prices are too high). I even looked at a vase in the back, that was one that you receive flowers in and it was marked $6. It should have been $1-2 if it's at a thrift store. So if your looking for a true thrifting experience with great deals, this isn't your kind of place I promise you.

I noticed the last month the prices on items have gone up and are ridiculously priced. It's becoming like Goodwill. I get they need profit to keep running, but some of the pricing there is comparable to what you'd pay brand new at a store. I also thought the lady who rung me up was rude. She asked if I was paying cash, I said no, then she tapped her finger on a sign that said no under $5 with an attitude. Like lady, I am here to support your organization, you don't need to be rude that I'm trying to buy something. It was very off putting. I went and bought something to make it $5 and went on my way. I saw frames in there that were like $14...there's no way a used frame should be that much. I saw a tiny pumpkin $3..Clothes is $4-5, dressed $7-8...Sounds like Goodwill. I will not be donating here anymore, I'll find another local resale.
