I recently visited the Augusta Rd location in Greenville SC. I was appalled, that while sorting my items cashier, Dominique J. advised new employee, Kassandra, that she has to watch out for these people. They will try to get you. I was confused. Is that Goodwill policy to demean their paying customers. I work and get paid weekly. I make more than $25hr. WHAT PEOPLE? THE ONES THAT PAY YOUR WAGES OR THE ONES OF US THAT DONATE? Goodwill what is wrong with you!? We all know that is called Goodwill not because of charity that it just happens to be the founders last name. But everything in your store is donated. You didn't buy it the only overhead you have is rent and utilities. Profit profit profit is almost 75% or more of what you guys bring in a day. Why are your prices gotten so frigging high!!!? The fun of finding a treasure fir a good price is gone. You and your bottomless pockets have taken it all away. I thought you were a Christian organization? What part of greed did Jesus or any part of the Bible justify? You talk one way yet walk another. I have watched you grow from a little hole in the wall with stores in desperate need of light and dusting to stores with you run a close 2nd to awalmart. The main difference is that although a lot of bad experiences Walmart at least purchases their products to resell. Yours is given. Most withbpeople thinking they are helping the needy. But except it's not the needy now it's the greedy. You need to remove anything in your advertising about "helping" the needy. Because obviously it's not your main concern anymore. I am not ,by far, the only one saying this. Has your loss of customers balanced out with your increasing ridiculous pricing? We're you not making enough free money? You guys need to fix your business motto too. If you're going to compete with sacks 5th Ave you can be honest about it. This place makes me sick at my stomach. I hope everyone stop donating so you at the corporate office has to be the needy to get a taste of how it feels then one of the few places you can afford ups the price of everything out of reach. Disrespectful, unaccommodating, dies not have regard for customer being inconvenienced..despite the customer having no knowledge if drop off hours and coming byc3 times in 1 week and beingv5 minutes late. The receiver refused to assist in accepting goods. Assistant manager kept repeating "we have hours" made no effort to apologize to customer who had been kept waiting over 30 min to speak to manager. He did however approach yo hear me out and told me to go ahead and complain to Corporate. My time is valuable and my donation helps keep people employed as well as provide cost effective goods for many. I would appreciate being contacted by your office. In all the years I have never been treated like this by Goodwill. read more

I have gone several times in the last 2 months and each tr the crew. One in particular is extremely crabby. My trip to day the man I had to ask if he was going to load my things. ( I'm 68. My husband has Parkingsons) and it was a suv trunk load. I personally feel that we are donating things and we are treated like they are doing us a favor. This is barber store. Horrible Corporate Management. While in states of emergency due to winter storms; they're refusing to let employees go home while it is safe to travel and close the stores down for the day. Highly unethical. read more
I've tried calling and calling because I have questions for large amount of donations... but I guess they list their phone numbers because it is required.. no one answer the phone! I have tried calling on different dates, during different times and still the phone would ring without any answer. If you need to contact their corporate headquarters, I wish you luck. read more

Was harassed by an employee named Melissa. First she would not show me something in the case then when I came up to pay for my purchase she said she could not sell me an item because it belonged to a lady that had to leave a buggy sitting up front because her form of payment did not go thru and it was being held for her! The manager Mary said it was a family member of an employee and the buggy was supposed to have been taken to the back and held instead of leaving on the floor for customers to go thru. For one, I got that particular item out of a buggy in the back of the store which the manager saw on their video . Mary knew I was upset over being harassed by Melissa and said she would make it up to me but that wasn't the point, I was called a liar in front of customers. Melissa the cashier also wears her crossbody purse while running the register, is that even allowed? . read more

The Santee store has a guy with a very thick accent and not very friendly. i am unable to drive and need a ride where ever i go. I asked this person who answered the phone, for some help to see if there was a wall frame for a portrait in his store. I let him know about my transportation issue as well. He had a hard time understanding me and i had a hard time understanding him. I finally asked him if there was someone there that could help me, that i was having trouble understanding his accent over the phone. He became offended and hung up on me. I was shocked he was so mean and arrogant. When i called back it was the same guy and at first he would not tell me what i said that was so offensive. If i offended him i wanted to at least apologize. Finally, after threatening to go strait to his higher ups, he claimed i was rude to ask for someone else because i could not understand his accent.....seriously, he couldn't understand me either....... FYI i called three other Goodwill stores and the people there were very helpful, Alpine, El Cajon, La Mesa. All of them referred me to Santee. I have no idea his name but his accent will give him away. read more

Goodwill McHenry is one of the unorganized thriftshop. items does not have prices on them. Asked for the manager so I can get a price tag for the item but she did not even do anything and told me "their policy is no tag no sale" I have to go back next day day if they have time to price the item. DO THEY KNOW THAT PEOPLE SHOPS IN THRIFT SHOPS TO SAVE NOT TO WASTE GASOLINE. I been in most thrift shop even a cashier can asked the manager for price update and ready to help their customer. We live in Paris, Ky. and always shop at Goodwill as a hobby. We donate items in good faith and yet we get no thanks. Sunday afternoon we went back to pick up some items we purchased on Saturday afternoon and was shocked of what happened to us. We purchased a nice couch and a chair only to find out that another customer switched the sold sign with a purchased sign and rebought our couch and took it home. The employees allowed it to happen and knew we had purchased the couch. Yes, they offered a refund, but that isn't what we want, we want what we purchased. Yes, it is common to be taken advantage of, but when a place of business does it, it is SAD. It's about time someone stand up to Goodwill and do something about the way they treat people. And No, offering a refund for something you know you was in the wrong is not making things right. Its not the first time we had this to happen to us, we had purchased a pantry cabinet and went back home to measure only to find out it was too big, we went back to the store to find out it was sold out from us as well. Yes, it is common for big retail stores to take advantage of the people, and they do, but to think Goodwill would is absurd because of where and how it all started. But, I guess greed will change the way you shop, huh! The name Goodwill should be changed because we feel as do others it's not doing its job. If only the CEO's and other Administrators knew what really was happening at these stores, I feel they would change the stores ways. We know for a fact from other customers who has told us that they get calls them if antiques comes in for them to get first choice. Also, the manager told us the she made the company a MILLION dollars last year bragging about what a great thing it was and how people are being exploited. Price gouging over actual cost and unreasonable manager when I showed her the actual price hidden in the item and her marked up price and when threaten to leave store or police would be call. This store has bad history. At 1551 - 2nd Loop rd, Florence, S.Carolina. I've dealt with it for years and never again. I also have photos of their marked up prices and manager there did not care. Hello this company Goodwillfinds has a online sale bussines and I have buy there few vintage toys before with no problem. This last time my purchase wasn't delivered complete of the 3 items thay I buy the most expensive wasn't delivered to me. It has been impossible to communicate with me. Well Morehead KY they have color of the week and on Friday they will pull it off and just put a little out on Sunday for 99 cents days that not the best. I used to go on Sunday and find a lot of clothes now you just lucky to find one or two for 99 cents day they just hungry for money so the higher up ones could get a new car and stuff. Absolutely absurd prices this stuff is donated !!! Not brand new!! stopped in to Goodwill store near the Villages the sign said it was a retail store!! no different than the store in Ocala just a little bigger! the first thing I looked at was a pair of ladies sandals USED and the price was $32.00 I looked them up in my phone and they were cheaper new elsewhere. I called for the department worker and asked about why price was so high and she said to me "did you see the sign that calls the store RETAIL she stated that corporate office requires them to price their merchandise in this fashion!! this is USED Merchandise not new it is donated not bought by Goodwill! go elsewhere if you are looking for bargain prices you will not find any here!! corporate should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of consumers! While you sit around in your cushy offices not having to contribute anything to your inventory but instead are given everything for free give some thought to your return policy. You force customers to take a gift card in place of refund because that's just the way your policy is. Not bad enough that your are huge but you won't even loose more by forcing gift cards. Not to mention I can get cheaper tops at JCPenney than I can at Goodwill. So who are you helping ? The poor or your profits. I will not be going to any of your stores again. read more

I went into a store and they say that there are no returns or exchanges they have signs posted everywhere. I'm like I'm shopping for my kids what if we need to exchange the clothes. They are like no. I said well your website says that you can within 15 days and that is on the Goodwill silicon valley website. Guys like I don't give a f*** what the website says I just work here. I call three different goodwills they all give me a corporate office number that doesn't work. Then I finally get the Almaden Express way and the manager on duty gives me a number for a district manager. Well of course that phone number never works and says there's no voicemail setup. Goodwill used to be a great company but since the pandemic they don't care anymore. Because there was a pandemic we stopped taking returns and exchanges and we stopped organizing our clothes by size that makes no sense. read more

I am vacationing in Florida. I went to the goodwill store in Largo. My total seemed high, but my granddaughter did get some good finds so I thought nothing of it. I got back to our air bnb and checked the receipt. I was charged $49.99 for a small back pack. I didn't see a price tag on it when I bought it. After looking at it better, I found the tag taped around a zipper pull. Of course there are no returns or refunds. It is outrageous to charge so much for something that is half the price in a store. Way to help people that depend on thrifty shops for their needs. read more

It's bad that goodwill in Carencro don't care about thier employees they make them come to work sick and they tell them if they don't have a fever to come in and so an employee that works there is bringing home Covid, RSV,and the Flu so now I have to go to see a doctor because I've had 5 surgeries and a low amune system and can't fight it off. They tell you they have a 3 day return policy on electronic products. Well they don't when you return & they tell you the fine print. I just wanted store credit. Goodwill Placerville. They never answer your calls, here is my situation. Goodwill online store business fails miserably to meet its customer expectations; there is no real time support, no one to resolve any issue at the beginning, customer support, no response I tried the seller directly using the"Contact Seller"link on the item detail page no response, called left a message and email for the Director, E-commerce store he never returned my call or resolved the issue, emailed customer service, call corporate no one answers so a WARNING if buying from Goodwill of Greater Washington D.C online good luck getting your item, or someone resolving issues my next step is going to my bank to file a dispute. Goodwill in Warsaw Indiana is a joke. The manager feels like she has the right to upcharge on whatever she wants, when she wants to, even if you were about to pay and she will come around and change the prices and then go on her way. I am a reseller. I buy almost everything I resell from Goodwill auction which help support small business's....and helps determine homelessness by providing additional income which goodwill is suppose to be supportive of.....Well I recently was charged 100.00 to ship a fur coat by goodwill which I paid but am very suspicious of because it was a 20.00 shipping at best but I was charged 100.00. Now Goodwill wants to charge me 185.00 to ship a painting......I think a class action lawsuit and investigation needs to be issued because something is wrong 100% with these random over 100.00 shipping charges..... read more

I have purchased many items and donated so much more than purchased over the years. I have noticed a dramatic increase in the prices on the items , I was going to 3 or 4 different locations in the El Dorado County area and it's the same in all of them. mI read on Next door and on the facebook pages how many other people are also complaining. You would think that in this time of hardships it would be the opposite . The quality of the clothing is checked over well enough, I see tops with tattered out necks or taken in clothing priced at $7 and 8 dollars, if the prices were fair so much more would be taken, as of now racks are over crammed. I have ran a clothes closet for 7 years and retired, I will no longer frequent your businesses unless you get a grip! read more

I have been an ongoing faithful customer at the Goodwill Outlet Store in Dayton Ohio for 24 years, including the two previous locations and have spent literally tens of thousands of dollars at these locations. This outlet store has been a model for numerous other locations for many years; in fact Goodwill executives from multiple Goodwill locations across America have visited this location on numerous occasions. But up until the last several months this store has been running smoothly with generally good merchandise to choose from. For many years this outlet store was a wonderful place to shop, but under the new and current management, mainly the distric mgr; who at one time was the actual store manager, has been ran into the ground and the merchandise is nothing but pure trash! They are holding back the good and decent merchandise at a rate that is unprecedented because sadly they base their sales numbers on individuals who come in to buy shoes, luggage, and clothing, in bulk. They say it's because they're not getting donations but this is a super Goodwill Outlet Store and we see trucks coming in and out of here on a daily basis including people who donate. They refuse to allow jewelry out onto the floor and the employees who bring the merchandise out have been instructed to give all the jewelry they find to management and there's no guarantee it ever makes it to the Shop Goodwill website..... basically no accountability. The district manager refuses to interact with the customers and the only time I've ever seen him speak to someone is when he was making derogatory comments towards them and for that matter his employees; he has a very nasty disposition and frankly he should not be in the position he's in. The employees who dump the merchandise into the bins and bring it out to the floor virtually work unsupervised and people including myself, have witnessed them as we look through the doorways into the loading area stealing jewelry and putting into their pockets. What we're hearing now is that the district manager is secretly taking bids from individuals on certain types of merchandise without any open bidding. To me that is unethical and an unfair business practice and he should be investigated for such blatant corruption! The loss prevention team here is nothing but a joke, there are cameras all over this store but it is obvious they do not watch those cameras or they would see what's going on regarding their dishonest employees. What needs to take place here is an undercover investigation and possibly even the FBI and FTC investigating this store for theft and racketeering; after all it is a federally registrated non-profit organization. Basically this outlet store has become nothing but a pure joke and the joke is on the customers and those who donate quality merchandise to the Goodwill. read more

I am writing go formally complain about an incident that occurred at the Santa Ana Goodwill store on Fairview Street on 8/15/2024. As a regular customer and donor. I have always appreciated the service provide by Goodwill. However, my recent experience was quite distressing. On 8/15/2024 while I was looking at some remote controls, and employee, who is large huge white man with glasses, approached me in a very unprofessional manner. Without saying "excuse me," he attempted to grab an item from the box I was lookin through. I asked him to wait until I was finished, but he stood very close to me and did not move until I insisted he come back later. This made me feel rushed and harassed. Shortly after, another employee name Franco, short guy with a big beard attempted to do the same thing. I expressed my annoyance and feeling of harassment to him as well. When i decided to leave the store. Franco followed me and continued to engage in a passive-aggressive manner, questioning me about the items I was looking for. His behavior was intimidating and intrusive, making me feel very uncomfortable and upset. I believe this behavior is unacceptable and does not align withe the values of Goodwill. I request that you address this issue promptly to ensure that other customers do no have to endure similar experiences. Thank you for you attention to this matter. The goodwill at 11236 S Pikes Peak Dr, Parker, CO 80138. is Islamophobic and racist. I went to this goodwill on 6/22/24 with a head scarf o, a white lady stated I don't belong there, I just continted shopping. this lady went a called the manager who is a white short man as well. this man and one of the store attendants wanted to lit drive me out of the store through intimidation. I have donated more than I can count to this goodwill and others around the Colorado area. As a christian I am ashamed of how an organization that claims to rehabilitate p would want to drive another human being out because of a headscarf and skin color. the retard racist white woman was waiting in the parking lot to attack me. I will not be going back to this organization and as someone who has friends who are Muslims, I will spread the word about this encounter. train your racist staff to leave their prejudice at home or work somewhere else or don't advertise to be a Christian organization. read more

I went to goodwill outlet in kent wa. There were no carts. Some Hispanic chick had a pile of stuff unknown to me i accidentally grabbed one of her items. I went to apologize as she rammed her hand aggressively grabbing THE item. I jumped back thinking she was gonna hit me with it. I TOLD her to please show me her green card cause at that time i felt threatened. She grabbed her cell phone and started recording me. I said why the hell r u recording me it's illegal.... She said cause your racist. I said now i am go home stupid b... And flipped her off she preceded to go to the security guard and showed him illegal video he came out with i His phone and started harnessing me recording me illegally on his phone too. Price items donated for free like they are Nordstrom. Employees don't wear name tags so they can't be rude a 12.99 for a Nike shirt from 30 seasons ago? Really? I SUPPORT People changing their prices because they price things ridiculous. DM me for how their system works and how to change them easily. It's the greed of it. Let people come in buy carts and carts full of clothes on dollar days for obvious transportation to Mexico. It's annoying. Also like if I chose to run out of the store with something you don't follow, if I change a price. Let it go. i was just hired at goodwill in awatukee az, off chandler blvd. i had car issues so wanted to switch to a closer local to my home, mclintock and souther goodwill the recruiter there has blocked me from doing so by telling my manager alexis that i was a former employee, i have never worked for a goodwill, so i want my job back and to switch to the location i chose. i will call that store and report joe, the recruiter, for lying to my manager just to keep me from making the transfer. hey, that's scary. this is a professional that's doing this and why? what's he so scared of, my military background, my blackness, or my spirit? well, i will be contacting him to inform him i am reporting him for doing so and demanding my job back, and yes, at his location! goodwill comes with tricks in arizona! read more

this is fraud at the highest level especially the online auction SHOPGOODWILL. They misrepresent things and then if is different than described and you send it back you only get partial refund plus restocking fees. How can a charity, take items that are given to you for FREE and be so greedy and yet pay their management incredibly high and unjustifiable salaries of $300,000. to $ 950,000. and your employees get just a little over minimum wage. And to think my tax dollars are going to Goodwill as grants and federal funding, I will be complaining to DOGE and other government agencies to investigate this fraud. read more

Posting policies, such as you must leave the price tag sticker on the overprice merchandise that even with the receipt, we cannot refund after 10 days have gone by and straighten the pricer or assistant pricer or whoever the hell he is, he's not the manager he is rude as hell I don't need somebody's flying and heavy at me because I'm frustrated. I've always supported Goodwill's mission, but recently the pricing has become unreasonably high. Many of the items are donated and should be affordable for those in need, yet prices often match or exceed retail stores. It's disappointing to see secondhand clothing, furniture, and household goods priced beyond what many can afford. Talk about piss poor service! I'm located in Rocky Mount, NC, and the manager at that store is a hateful man, just like the people at Goodwill Corporate! They won't even take the time to speak with a person about an issue in one of THEIR stores! I read where Goodwill gets all the money from their sales, and the CEO gerts paid bank! Take your money to Salvation Army or any other store rather than Goodwill - they don't deserve our patronage! read more

Your stores are all way too over priced..your taking advantage of poor people and act like it's not your fault the CEO makes 729 million a yr I think he can afford to mark the stuff cheaper..you people are horrible human beings.every store across the U.S. is way overpriced .I think you forget you don't buy your stock it's free. I was just watching a tub video where the police asked a Mgr. If they could donate a pair of shoes for a homeless lady cos it was very cold outside. And the store Mgr. Said no. I will never dobate a thing to your comp t agai. And I truly hope that video goes viral your rich because of the things all of us america. I don't feel it is appropriate for employees to ware a BLM mask while working. I feel it's fine to portest to voice your opion just not in a place of business. I'm 64 years old and find this offense, this happened on 06/12/2020 in a Suffolk Va. Store. Loved shopping at Goodwill but if this behavior is allowed to continue I will go somewhere else. read more

went boca raton location and manager would not let me in despite ten minutes to spare of closing time no one answers the phone , worst new employees ever especially for Boca Raton. Since this organization feels the need to act as the police in mandating wearing masks, I will no longer support them with any donations or $$ by shopping there. I do not support the wearing of masks. I feel this should be up to each individual. Dictatorship is no way to make customers feel welcome. I will not reccomend anyone shop here. read more

I shop at goodwill gilroy atleast once a week. The Manager Martin is very rude and unprofessional! My daughter recently got hurt at this location and Martin did not have any compassion or concern of my daughter he also lied and said he can not do a incident report and that I have to go kegal route!! I officially am boycotting Goodwill! read more

These Goodwill's in the Miami Valley seem to think they can talk about an old case from the 1990's, a Battered Women's Case, then suggest as your shopping that they are going to try a put a person back in prison after being out twenty years. This is ongoing and retaliation. My personal life or history is Not your business. read more

Johan Robinson is a terrible manager, you get a disrespectful and rude service from July - the supervisor + sour faces. all goodwill stores have taken advantage of the communities by accepting donation and overpricing them just because one or two people got lucky makes it impossible for people who truly can't afford anything to buy something I think there should be a new store for the people and bring down all goodwill stores read more
