We really enjoyed the design, it sort of reminded me of the black bricked Ministry of Magic in Harry Potter! We found the meals like $1 or $2 more than Moxie's or Earls but we were fine with that. My wife ordered the Pad Thai and I ordered the Hickory Burger. I had to, it was National Burger day. The service was prompt and we actually got our food fairly quickly as well! But not suspiciously quickly, it was fresh! My favourite part of my burger was that the patty had been hand pressed. I don't know, the burger just sorta fell apart in your mouth but not in your hands or plate. Like it was very easy to eat, not too dense or over cooked. The bun had a nice toasted taste to it as well! Their fries are hand cut and double cooked to provide an extra crunchy outer layer and a soft warm inner layer. The gravy didn't taste like generic gravy, it was a pleasant surprise. My wife had been craving Pad Thai for a few days so she ordered that. She ate about half the portion. She liked it but she said it was not as good as the authentic Thai restaurants that we had been to before, which is to be expected. She liked it though. The waitress was attentive and polite. The atmosphere was well lit and not too noisy, it wasn't too busy the evening we went. The music choice and variety was odd, almost seemed like there was music in there for every one. We had dance music, followed by an old classic country song and then an 80's New Wave song. We enjoyed our visit though!

DH had the Traditional Pub burger and fries. He reported the burger as good, but the fries were a disappointment. According to the menu they were hand cut, which usually means a very tasty fry. These were tough and not very appetizing. My dragon bowl was great and made lunch for DH the next day too.

However I felt it lacked some umph to make the special experience I usually enjoy at a good Italian restaurant. Food was good and everyone enjoyed it but not wow. We enjoyed our meals but no one said "you need to try this!" or even a simple "I'm definitely ordering this next time". One friend had a dish of capers and then some pasta. We think it was a mistake but she was good hearted about it and didn't send it back. She however joked if anyone wanted a side of capers with their meal. As she was willing to part with some! We also googled capers as we all had different thoughts of reasoning to use them, how they should be used and what exactly they were. Yeah, it took that long to get her chicken that was to be part of the meal. What really cracked us up was that the chicken then came with more capers in the sauce! However that was the only dish that provided entertainment of two tables with 10 people each. My dish I selected was gnocchi and you could choose the sauce you wanted. I went with pesto and it was good enough for me to finish my plate but not good enough that I'd look for bread to scrape up the sauce. No worries though, there's lots of options on the menu for different appetite sizes as well as price ranges which was nice. Drinks were enjoyed by those that tried the options available. I liked that they left several water bottles on the table as we were all quite dehydrated from talking during the conference. I noticed tiramisu as a dessert option early on and of course made sure to leave room for that. It came out in a cup that was water glass size. It was a nice size for a dessert at the end of the long day.
