I walked toward the golf cart shack and bag drop and found the pro shop. The guy who checked me in was very nice and explained everything to me since it was my first time there. I got a small bucket of balls which is equivalent to a medium elsewhere, for $10. They do not have Tap to checkout but he was able to type in my card info for payment. A cart was dropped off for me just outside the shop and the attendant gave me the key. I headed to the range. The range has two parts- old school and new school. I stayed on the old school part. The last are in good shape. There are lots of flags out there but I didn't know the distance. The golf cart is basic. No GPS. No cooler (outside coolers not permitted). No rake. No club or ball washer. No towel. No tees. Just a card. They have a putting green with various obstacles on it- not sure what that is about. There did not appear to be a cart gal on premises. We were out there two hours and u didn't see anyone making rounds. I think there wa one bathroom on the back nine? I played from the forward tees. The course is very forgiving. For league, we played the back nine. I didn't have the pleasure of getting into any traps but I did spray the ball left a couple times off of the tee and never lost any balls. It was a good time. Decent value for the money. Wish a half bucket of range balls was included. Left my range finder but my group recovered it and will return it to me next time. Overall it was low key and fun. Course was in decent shape. Some greens had brown spots and some fairways were burned out near the paths. Tee boxes were littered with weeds. But it was well marked and challenging with the narrow greens and all the hills/ditches.

Choosing a florist for our wedding felt super stressful to me. I kind of knew what I wanted and definitely knew what I did not like. Baughaus Florals was recommended by two people I trusted (photographer and wedding coordinator). As soon as I found Jenna's work, I knew she was different. Her florals and designs are classic, but also fresh, unique and just stood out creatively. Jenna was a dream to work with the entire wedding. She asked super helpful questions and sent me examples of her work to help me define a vision for our wedding day. She was totally onboard with my request of incorporating a lot of live potted plants in with florals, and she created a moodboard that helped me relax and know she understood our vision. The week of our Winter Park wedding, Hurricane Ian hit many parts of Florida, including the Orlando area. Jenna spent the day before the hurricane finding a generator for my wedding flowers and plants (not for her own home which was likely to lose power) so my florals would stay protected and cooled in case of a power outage at her studio. Beyond being the floral designer of my dreams, Jenna gave me the gift of feeling cared for and someone who fought for our dream wedding day to still happen days after a devastating storm. Jenna worked with me to stay within our budget and suggested what we could do to lower costs that wouldn't detract from our vision. The day of our wedding my husband's and my jaws literally dropped open seeing the final product of Jenna's designs. So many of our guests told us they'd never been to a more beautiful wedding - this is overwhelmingly because of Jenna. Jenna kept telling me she wanted to give me the wedding of my dreams, and my response after seeing everything was that she didn't, she gave me a wedding far more beautiful than I asked for. I would honestly consider changing your wedding date if necessary if it meant getting to have Baughaus create your florals. I truly don't think there is a more creative, talented or kinder floral designer. My husband and I are forever thankful to Jenna and her team.

Today, we brought our Mom to Crafted Scent Bar in Mt Dora for a Candle making experience to…read morecelebrate her birthday. This business has great reviews on other sights and we really really loved this. We decided to do this while we were at lunch and we booked the 3pm session. All 5 of us got to pick from a huge selection of scents and we were allowed to combine as many scents as we wanted to use. There are several selections we could choose from to make at different price points and we all chose the middle price point option to create 10 Oz candles (1 each). The owners were present to help guide us in choosing what scents may complement each other. We were given the glass jars that we chose along with a wick to stick into the jar. After smelling the different scent samples that we were interested in and made our selections, we wrote them down on a card. The owner then brought us each of the scents we chose in individual bottles. We were also given beakers and small scales. We were then instructed how much total weight in scent that we needed to blend. For example, I chose 3 scents to blend, so I started out adding a few drops of each scent into the beaker and judged how much more of each scent to add based upon the smell. The more I added, the better it smelled. I blended Orange Blossom, Plumeria and Gardenia together. Once we had the proper weight in scent mixed, we were each given a pitcher of melted wax and a stick. We were directed to pour all of or beaker of blended scents into the melted wax and stir. Once we had thoroughly mixed our scents into the wax, it was then time to pour the now scented wax into the selected candle jars. The owner then gave each of us a tool to help keep the wick straight in the candle jar while our candles solidified. While they were solidifying, we walked down the street into some of the other shops. We returned a little more than an hour later to pick up our mostly solidified candles to take home with us. You are welcome to bring your own drinks with you. The shop sells already made candles and scents, tshirts, candle and tart accessories etc. the owner and staff (her Mom) are wonderful and enjoyable to work with. Our family really enjoyed this whole experience and recommend this for your family, your work team, friend group, church group, etc. we will most likely do this again and will bring friends to experience this with. All 5 of us chose the same price level making a 10 Oz candle in a beautiful colored glass container with wood lids at ($42 each). Yes you can buy candles fir less money, yes you can choose a less expensive price point....we really enjoyed the experience and the end products we created in their beautiful colored glass jars...and most importantly Mom enjoyed this as a Happy Birthday activity with her two adult kids and our husbands. BUYER BEWARE. We were having a fine time working with Anand to create our wedding mandap decor…read moreuntil simple verbiage in his liability insurance needed to be changed. This was standard verbiage every other 3rd party vendor we worked with had no problem changing for our venue, but per his own "legal counsel" he could not change the verbiage. This was a contract with a large hotel venue and I'm assuming he's never worked with larger clients and as a result was not prepared to offer the correct liability insurance. He kept saying this is "not standard" when literally every other person we were working with said it was.. He then turned on us and accused me and my husband for not properly preparing him to work with our venue. How are we supposed to know what type of legal documents he is supposed to provide as a vendor? That is quite literally the job of the vendor to figure out, and again this tells me he's never worked with larger clients. In addition, he knew at signing which hotel we would be working with and it is his job as a vendor to ensure he is prepared to handle an event at the venue in the signed contract. He ended up wanting us to sign a form that essentially put all the blame on me and my husband if anything at all went wrong with the mandap structure as well as allow him to cancel at ANY time up until the wedding. Obviously, we could not sign this and found another mandap vendor who could change the verbiage and provide quality services. This back and forth about the insurance verbiage went on for months and Anand was a poor communicator with me, my husband, my wedding planner, and my venue's event coordinator. It was 3 weeks before the wedding when he decided to give us an ultimatum causing me significant stress as a bride to find a new vendor. We dropped him as a vendor due to his lack of service and reliability, not due to the changes in weather as he may claim. I cannot stress enough that this company is not prepared to work on larger venues or provide any type of liability insurances. You might be able to rent a few chairs or decor items from them, but save yourself the stress and hassle, and spend a little money to get a better vendor for your wedding. It should also be noted this is the first review in YEARS he has received which is suspicious. He also claims that we asked for a "custom mandap" when there is nothing truly custom on our mandap. As with every decorator there are different items and ways to set things up, but we did not specifically have him craft anything that he cannot reuse. He has already posted the mandap on his website and will be able to reuse every material that was "custom." Therefore, there was no loss of business, but he attempted to charge us thousands for this work. We adhered to the cancellation policy in the poorly written contract and cancelled our agreement as it is clearly stated and forfeited our deposit.
