This spot is located inside the new hmart! There's two kiosks to order as well as one register. It was opening weekend so they had a BOGO deal for 3 drinks on their menu. There was a long line but it went really quick. I got the passion fruit tea 50% sweet and it was the perfect sweetness. I also got to try the pearl milk tea. Their jelly was good but their boba was lacking a bit. The boba was mostly clumped together and had a weird hard consistency. I found this on google maps and didn't realize it was inside the HMart. I was a little disappointed that it wasn't a stand alone becaus I wanted to work from the cafe as well, but this totally didn't matter - there is ample seating inside. I was there about 2:15 PM on a Wednesday and it was almost empty. The kiosk took a little time to navigate (my first time using self-serve at Gong Cha), but the staff person on hand was super friendly and answering questions we had. I was surprised how affordable the tea was - with a base of $4 for a large, then add on for mango syrup, and crystal boba, my total came to $6+, but this was a for a large. I opted for 50% sugar, but with the mango and the crystal boba, I'd say it was defintely 80% tasting. Next time I should reduce the sugar. The order was linked to text messaging, and it took just a few mins to come. I ended up getting to work from there with the free wifi. Albeit it was quite loud with the kpop in the background, so maybe not ideal for conference calls unless you can tune that out mentally, but I will be back! read more

I had seen the posts by snoopy_collector and grubs with gnomes on Instagram about the Peanuts surprise cups so the girls and I planned to stop by the Gong Cha in Santa Ana on the way to work. Daughter saw online that they were sold out of the Peanuts surprise cups. We then changed direction to head to our local Gong Cha in Westminster which turns out to be in the food court. We had to walk through the Hmart which led to us buying 2 pounds of green seedless grapes and 2 pounds of Driscoll strawberries. There were 2 kiosks to order drinks. We ordered a large peach oolong tea 50% sweet 50% ice with peach star jelly, a large honey green tea 50% ice, and a large green milk tea 50% sweet as recommended 50% ice. I saw that they were selling Line Friends Gong Cha tumblers and added one to the order receiving the free Line Friends conini keychain. There was an order on the counter ready for pickup and 2 customers came after us. Otherwise, it was not busy on a Tuesday at around 12:30 PM. We received text that order was ready 10 minutes after submitting the order. The upgraded drinks from medium to large were in separate cups from the Peanuts surprise cups which was a good thing to avoid drink spillage. We were able to get all of the Peanuts keychains except for Snoopy on this one visit. The Peanuts surprise cups would be available until October 31st or until sold out. Daughters returned on October 30th and they were all sold out. The recommendation for sweetness was good and my tea was not too sweet. read more

Visited on Friday and had a great experience with friendly staff and sealed ice water provided after purchasing drinks. The service was welcoming and made the visit enjoyable. Returned Monday and had a very different experience with the manager on duty, who refused to provide sealed ice water and instead said there were small cups available with no lids and that I could get tap water from the self-serve fountain near the restroom. The cups were also very small. I was also told there could only be regular ice or no ice in my milk tea. During the interaction, I was told other food court locations sell bottled water, even though I was not asking for bottled water -- only ice water in a sealed cup for convenience. It was also stated that accommodating the request was "doing the job as a manager" and would only be done "this one time," which came across as dismissive rather than customer-focused. Overall, the experience felt very different from my first visit and changed my impression of the place. Customer service makes a significant difference. read more

I can't believe I paid $16 for two drinks that we could not even drink half way! We immediately threw them out.
