Opening was packed and great. To be honest, drink was pretty good for such a grand opening. I ordered Mango Milk Slush with boba (which I shouldn't have gotten boba just to enjoy the drink itself LOL - my fault) and Pear Milk Tea for BOGO free deal. Tapioca/Bubble was mediocre, but the drink, itself, tasted better than ones in Dallas (since that's where I am from and goes to normally). I go here once a while to get their lemon Ai-yu jelly drink. But their milk foam milk tea is actually pretty good too. I like to add in matcha milk foam for my match tea. Matcha over matcha. Overall good place for drinks. read more

Really like this location of Gong Cha. Not my favorite boba place but my go to order is the mango green tea with grass jelly. Drinks are almost always too sweet for me so I get 30% sugar. I love love the pieces of mango in the drink, no other place has them! Also they have bubble waffles here some weekend that are some of the best I've ever had! I loved the Earl Grey Milk Tea!!!! So good. Will return just for that. Wouldn't suggest the matcha green tea though ---- too grassy-tasting compared to other places. We've got a party of 10 so I understand it's a lot of drinks but we weren't in a hurry, and it's not like we were rushing them. They seems like they're annoyed to have customers though. Highly disappointed! Try as I might to like this place I feel duped when I leave. Ok 3 stars, I like the waffle bubble, hate it's only weekends and now, only during happy hour. The only reason I come back. Tea, I've tried so many different one in hopes to find one I like but this strawberry milk tea they feature with strawberry boba is one that I feel duped on for sure. Flavor, not strong and the drink looks like it had massarated strawberries. The strawberry pearls, now that was what drew me to this drink. I thought oh it must be popping Pearl's but if not it would be the chewy pearls, it has the chewy texture of the jellies sans any flavor at all. I occasionally come to this location since it's closer to our house. Most of the time we can't communicate with the employees about our drinks; they are clueless about the ingredients, lacks of attention to what they run out, not train to check out (someone has to intervene with the transaction). My kids' strawberry smoothie cake out without milk (they ran out of milk). My milk tea has no tea flavor. At the end of my order I saw a promotion of $5.99 for a combo of milk tea and a waffle; I asked if it's too late to do a combo. of course the LAZY cashier didn't wanna fix the transaction, and said it's too late. She can't change the order. I have to buy a separate order. At this point I don't even wanna drink what I ordered any more due to the rude service. They're okay. I like their location (close to me aha), easy to get to, they offer most things I expect from a boba shop. I like being able to customize the order like the amount of sugar you can have on it. I have had some orders come out wrong here using Ubereats since we've been opting for that more due to Covid, but overall it's been good whenever we order. Never had problems ordering in person. I will say that even before the pandemic I never really felt comfortable hanging out at their store, I just do to-go orders. Would be nice to have friendlier staff. They've never been rude to me but they generally just ignore people until they walk up to the front. Maybe they can add more items to their menu. read more

Overall, I am not very satisfied with this place. The first time somebody forgot to put the white pearl in aiyu lemon tea. It's another one of Gong Cha franchise locations so the quality is good like the other Gong Cha location. However, I must say this specific location cheats you by charging the same price as other Gong Cha locations but use way smaller cup sizes! They use this tiny skinny tall cup that's only about 75% of the normal size boba cups used at other Gong Cha or Kung Fu tea locations. Been here twice and I feel cheated out of my money. Also the cashier girl they hired working on the weekends has this nasty rude attitude taking your order and she gets even more rude if you don't hit that 18% or 20% tip button. I have many choices for boba places in Austin so definitely won't be coming back here for the service and also for the money worth. read more

Just opened so going through some initial opening issues like cashier needing to reboot their system and running out of printer paper. But that's understandable. Came late night to Gong Cha on grand opening day after hearing about their event on Facebook. The line was fairly long but they seemed to get drinks out at an impressive pace compared to other boba BOGO grand openings that I've been to. Service was friendly and they had two different drinks by the front for sampling. I had come with a group of 4 and we all tried different drinks. The general consensus was that we all enjoyed our drinks (peach green tea for me) overall. However, their tapioca pearls were subpar and the prices were a bit high especially given how much further North they are compared to the rest of the competition. Most people I know already consider The Domain to be a bit far. The environment itself was as expected; modern in appearance and with a clean interior. To summarize, the drinks were good. Boba was alright. It's a little bit further than what most people (especially students living close to UT) are used to. Prices are above locally owned offerings (think Teapioca Lounge or Tapioca House), but inline with the other massive chains (KFT, Sharetea, etc). read more

UNSANITARY! This past weekend I went in and had ordered online. I came a few minutes early and they hadn't started which was fine. I waited to the side. An employee came in from the back and started scratching his head with both hands profusely several times and then grabbed a cup and made a drink for someone behind me. I was disgusted and called the employee out who just shook his head in agreement. It was DISGUSTING and he used multiple items/ machines. Very nice tea place. All of the options you would expect. All we have tried are good to very good. Will just toss out that their milk coffee drink is the best of the local tea shops if you happen to be in a coffee mood instead. I came pretty regularly to this location as well as the domain and well I'm not coming back. At this location the employees are always in a rush or confused about what's in a drink. Most of them can't seem to answer simple questions. I always order a green milk tea and lately it's tasted watered down and flavorless despite 70% sugar! They always seem to run out of things or say something is broken! Almost seems like the employees make the drinks differently every time. Employees despite not being properly trained are at least nice but even then it's not enough. There is never a manager or owner on sight but an email that may not even respond. Went to grand opening and ordered the black tea (good) and pearl milk tea that was ok with bobas that were too soft. Tried it again today and ordered earl grey milk tea with 3J. It comes with 3 toppings...egg pudding, boba, and grass jelly. The milk tea was nice and strong...very flavorful the way I like it! Didn't skimp on toppings either! Bobas this time were nice and perfectly chewy, so I was very happy with this drink. The lychee green tea I sampled while waiting was also very strong and delicious. Can't wait to go back and try other flavors! Gong Cha is my favorite boba tea place in Austin so far! I was craving some bubble tea so I decided to try this place out. I went in on a weekday around 5 pm. It was pretty full and seemed like an after school hang- out spot for teenagers. I ordered the taro cream slush with no boba. I was asked what level of sweetness I'd like from 0-100%. I believe I chose the 50% I thought that was pretty interesting as I had never been asked my level of sweetness desired before at a boba tea place. My drink came within 15 minutes. I always order a taro cream slush so I have had it several times in many different boba tea shops before. When I received my drink there was some blue colored dye on the inside. I asked what this was and was told it's a coloring that comes off and is completely harmless. It wasn't a big deal but I felt the drink may not have been blended properly especially since it was super icy. I did not like it at all. It felt like it wasn't blended well due to me sipping on small chunks of ice. I had to basically let it melt before I could drink it which watered it down a ton! This location is horrendous. After a couple of tries I stopped going! There are a couple of 20 year old chick's that obviously were forced by their parents to get this job. They give my generation a bad reputation. They have no Customer Service skills, they rush the drinks and never do them properly. Like others have mentioned the staff sucks!!! There's one young white girl that every day works barefoot and wears the same big grey hoodie. She looks like a homeless person anyways I don't care if she wants to look like that but at least make my drink correct.
