After visiting another GG store in South Jersey, I stopped in here still looking for an upgrade to my putter. Was greeted soon after I walked in and was offered assistance...let them know I was just looking around for a putter. The sales rep mentioned the days they perform putter fittings. The one thing I do like, they offer the price of the fitting will be deducted from the price of a putter if you buy one after the fitting...which is a plus! This store was It appeared to be clean, fully stocked, and have a friendly staff. Spent an hour testing out several different brands and models of putters in the putter section, their green area isn't large but was able to test out several different putters. Another employee came over and asked if I needed any assistance, much better customer service compared to the previous GG store I visited. read more

Employee Jim B. finds it amusing to talk down to women calling in. Don't waste your time or money. Go elsewhere. Unless you want to be treated like a woman in the 1940's or 50's. Then by all means, this is your best option. I had tried to check on the status of an order because it was already past the date we were told the order would arrive and had not heard anything since the in-store order date. First, Jim was belligerant just saying they'll call when it's in and was ready to hang up on me when I had the nerve to: continue speaking. I explained to Jim that my 15 year old (who looks a good bit older than his age) and I had gone in to the store together last week, and that the associate who helped us had asked my son for his phone number, but that my son hadn't received a call or voice mail yet and that we were told when we ordered to anticipate up to one week and it was one week. Would he mind looking us up. To that, Jim admonished me as if he was speaking to a child who had done wrong that maybe that's what I should expect if I give a store a child's phone number!?!?! Um, okay, Jim. To that cheerful piece of good advice, I asked if Jim could please look up the order to check the status. He asked what it was for and I explained a shaft for a Ping driver. Jim apparently didn't hear me say "driver" and gave me a whole condescending and annoyed story. He said, "m'am, was it an iron? a driver? they're totally different." Thank you, Jim. Your big brain impressed me as much as your hearing, or lack thereof. While I felt like telling Jim to turn up his hearing aid and turn down his attitude, I did not. Those words stayed in my head. Instead, I coddled Jim's ego a bit more and just let him know that it was a driver. But then I also asked Jim if he treats all the women customers like this. To which Jim, as expected, suddenly insisted that he could not hear me. "Hello? ..we must have a bad connection." Really? What a councidence. I call out terrible behavior and suddenly, people around him in the store get to think the connection is flawed. Okay, Jim. Well, after putting me on hold, Employee-of-the-Month Jim came back on to tell me (in his still arrogant, self-important, and beyond condescending attitude) that there was no anticipated ship date. He could not check. If I wanted to cancel or do anything further we would have to come in on Monday. (today is Saturday). Golf Galaxy East Hanover Management: this is not acceptable. Women Readers- don't waste your time, and don't give yourself heartburn on an otherwise lovely day. Go to any other golf store. I took my son to Golf Galaxy in East Hanover yesterday to buy a new golf club. We unfortunately were "helped" by the "in-house PGA pro". He was ARROGANT and CONDESCENDING!!! He refused to explain anything regarding club choices and when asked to do so he said that he can't help my son because he (the "pro") plays at a much different level. And, he wouldn't show my son any of the clubs from this year because he had decided that they were too expensive for my son's level of play. I have NEVER in my life been treated like this while shopping for anything. Awful!!!!! read more

After deciding to make a concerted effort to get back into golf this year, I brought in my clubs to get regripped at the Golf Galaxy near me. I've been here a couple years back to get fitted for a new driver and was satisfied with the customer service so I thought I'd get the grips redone here as well. One of the first things you'll notice when you first enter the store is how big it is. The place is clean, spacious, and well organized to find the department that you seek. For this certain occasion, I decided to switch out the grips on my clubs to deal with particularly hot and humid days when my hands can get super slippery. The person who handled my clubs was friendly, informative, and really made me feel confident that the job would get done without issue. For people that are interested in regripping clubs as well, it usually takes about a day (due to the volume of clubs getting fixed) for them to get it done so be prepared. I came in today to pick them up and the process to get them back was very fast which is a positive. I just had to show my receipt to the person in the repair department, pick up the clubs, and show the paperwork again as I was leaving. If I wasn't browsing other departments of the store I could have easily been out of there in under 5 min. The clubs were regripped as advertised and had no physical damage whatsoever. USEFUL INFO -Plenty of parking -Fairly big putting green to test out the putters -Golf instruction and fitting simulators available -The only disappointing thing I found about the place was the underwhelming stock of pre-owned clubs available. The pre-owned clubs only took up a small area of the club department and I wish there was more stock. -When I paid for the regripping service the first day I was there, the person in charge of the cash register really appeared to be disinterested. I asked him how and when I should expect to get my clubs back and he said 3-4 days until he was interrupted by the manager who clarified it should be ready by tomorrow. I suspect that he was new so I ultimately let the whole experience slide but I can see where another yelper was coming from about possible poor customer service. Other than that, I found everyone else I interacted with to be pleasant and helpful. FINAL WORDS Overall, I enjoyed my time at this Golf Galaxy and will most likely come back if I need anything golf related in the future. I set out to get my grips done and they did the job well without any physical damage to the clubs which is all I could ever really ask for. Whether you are looking to buy new golf apparel or getting fitted for new clubs, I believe this store has everything you need to accomplish those goals! read more

We went to check out new drivers and Don was the most helpful sales associate. He answered all our questions and had insight into which were the best clubs for my husband based on his age and skill level. Even though we didn't buy anything that day, we will definitely go back and ask for him when we are ready to purchase. I highly recommend Don as a sales associate. read more

This place is great. The staff are real experts that have some great golf experience of their own. The best part is that they don't try to upsell you - they will help you figure out what is best for your game. I've been to the Golfsmith down the road, which is actually a little closer to where I live, but it honestly doesn't compare. It's dark, kind of crowded with the merchandise, and the staff don't seem to have the same competence as the guys at GG. Plus, GG seems to have better prices and deals from my experience. Let's just start by saying, I wish I could give this place a zero. They can not follow direction that a child could. I ordered new clubs yesterday. I drove from Irvington, NJ. When I got home, 30 minutes later they sent me a text saying, I could come and pick up my clubs. I had each club extended 21/2 inches longer as I stand 6'7". 4 iron to gap wedge. I also gave them a 3 iron and rescue to be extended. And I ordered jumbo grips for all of the clubs. So I call them and ask is this a joke, how could they be ready that quick? They tell me they are. I get to the store and the guy comes out and tell me, they have to extend them and put on the grips. So I ask, "why did you text me and then I call and you say they were ready"? All I get is a sorry for the inconvienence. I'm riding up and down 280 for poor service. The guy tells me I could come back the next day and pick them up as soon as they open. So I allow ample time after they open and arrive. They come when I call then go back inside to get my clubs. 45 minutes later they bring them out. He tells me they had to finish putting the grips on them. I look and see where they failed to extend my 3 iron with graphite along with my rescue. So I ask the guy what happened? He goes back inside without answering me. I call them again from curbside. The guy on the phone does not give me a answer to there shortcomings to the point where I say fuck it, I'm never coming back their again. This place has a facility of non-knowledgeable working and it's a damn shame!!! read more

Great store, they always have what I need. The staff is always helpful and very attentive to your needs. I have been visiting this store for years, and since last year the store has gotten very busy as it is always crowded no matter what day of the week. The weekends are very busy, the staff does tries to accommodate everyone in a timely manner. Will always be a loyal customer at this store. read more

You might want to call ahead before going to Golf Galaxy. I have gone to this store a few times with the same results. First, no one ever asks you for assistance. Second, if you want to rent a simulator you get conflicting information on availability. Third, I was informed they do not rent the simulator to anyone on weekends since they are too busy. However, I just went this past Saturday and to my wandering eyes......the simulator was rented to a group that just arrived right before me. I walked around multiple areas of the store and not one employee greeted me or asked me if I needed assistance. I even asked someone if I can schedule a time to test out some clubs because I was interested in upgrading my irons. Can you believe that I was told by an employee I approached that he was working with another customer and didn't offer me any assistance or offer to have me meet with someone else. 4 fitters were standing and joking around the simulator with the crew who were obviously not buying anything. I ended up going to Dick's Sporting Goods down the road and received one on one attention along with a 30 minute free simulator. End result....I am going to continue to go to Dick's since they treat people much better! read more

This is now the second time I have been sold the wrong flex for clubs. The associate watched me hit in the simulator knowing I needed a stiff flex iron and did not mention flex once. I specifically said that I had regular flex irons and needed to upgrade to a stiffer shaft club. Called back telling them my situation (clubs have been used twice since I purchased them for 499$) and was offered 250$ for trade in. Will not be coming back. read more

This place is fantastic! I was in the market for a new set of irons as I had been playing with old hand-me-downs that were 15+ years old and way too short. The team there first evaluated my swing and issues with my old set of clubs on the simulator. After that, they went ahead and tried out 3 different fittings. When we were going back and forth between the +1/2 inch and +1 inch, they brought over the golf pro to work with me for 15 or so minutes. He gave me a few quick pointers and upon his suggestion we went with the 1/2 inch. They then took me around, walked me through the various options and definitely didn't try and upsell me at all, which was a refreshing change! Needless to say, it was a fantastic experience and I'll definitely keep going back!! read more
