Also, South Surrey Recreation & Arts Centre offers tons of exercise and sport classes along with their large gym facility. It's great to walk around and see all the sport events happening or walk your dog (leashed) on a big open field. I really wish you could take them off-leash but no can do doggo. But there's an amazing Off-leash Dog Park near by - Dogwood Park! Plenty of free parking around the area as well! Public washrooms available at the South Surrey Recreation & Arts Centre and Rotary Club Centre. Overall, such a great part of South Surrey to get your heart racing and muscles pumping! One of the parks that we stumbled upon was Blue Mountain Park. We mainly look for a playground, so my son can go run around and play until he's exhausted. This park offers: an outdoor wading pool (for those hot summer days), tennis courts, sports fields, softball field, covered picnic area, a playground for the kids (why don't they have one for adults), and spray park (woohoo!). By the kids playground, they have an unusual bronze statue of a horse and buggy that is pretty fun for the kids to ride on. This playground has something for all age groups from toddlers to kids. There is also a paved bike trail around the playground area, so you can also bring you kid's bikes as well. This is a great park to host a picnic (when there is no snow of course...) or to play a game. Definitely a must for families if you're in the area.

As parents we were already trying to get the kids out of the play area to the best of our ability, but kids don't necessarily respond well to yelling. I liked the venue, but won't be coming back.
