It's sort of cheap, I'll give you that. And close to the highway. But other than that it's the…read moreworst child-friendly hotel I've ever experienced. We pulled over here on the way to Berlin after our toddler was getting cranky in the car, and ended up vomiting in the car as we were parking in the parking lot. So we were kind of desperate. But then we had to deal with this:
- There is no air conditioning, and no fans inside the rooms, so when it's even a little hot outside you'll be baking in a concrete box.
- Our upstairs 4th floor room had no screen on the window, and since it was so hot we had to keep the window open at least a little bit, at the risk of our toddler climbing out the window in the middle of the night. Thank God we brought a fan with us, otherwise the room would have been impossible to sleep in.
- Even if you have the window open you won't be able sleep with it open because there are tons of streetlights outside the window flooding the room with light. If you're an adult you can put on eye shades to block the light out, but that's impossible to do with a baby or small child.
- For some reason they don't bother to warn you that the beds are in bunk bed configuration, with a ladder that starts a foot off the floor, so it's a great dangerous thing for a toddler to climb up and down and up and down, effectively keeping you from doing anything else while they're awake other than keeping them from falling off the bunk bed ladder. It would have been nice if they provided some kind of childproofing for the ladder at least, since they provided none for the window or the electrical sockets.
- No bathtub, so you have to bathe your kid in the sink.
- No elevator, so you can schlep all your giant bags up the hot and sweaty non-air-conditioned stairs while also dealing with keeping your toddler from falling down the steps.
The only good thing about the place is they have so-so internet access so your child can still be distracted by movies on your ipad, and a breakfast that is open until 10 and has protein as well as bread/cereal choices. The cereal is stale, so another strike against child-friendliness, but at least the breakfast room is safer for your child than your sleeping room. If we had known it was so bad we would have probably just kept driving to the camp grounds outside of Berlin, since putting up a tent in the middle of the night and waking up at the crack of down would have given us better sleep than staying at this hotel.
