I initially signed up for the service around February of 2020 and then I was hit with some unexpected health issues and then the pandemic shut down happened. She led me through a few exercises to help me better identify my goals in life and most important values. This was helpful to some extent but I never felt very clear about next steps. Denises' strategy is to help people believe in themselves and find their own track rather than just telling them, or advising them on what to do next. On the one hand, I believe there is a lot of power in Denises' approach and ultimately people have to be responsible for themselves and whatever career choices they make. On the other hand, as a professional career coach, I expected a little more feedback on what some good options or next moves for me might be. I did not leave unhappy but just a little unfulfilled and unwilling to continue expensive coaching sessions without being 99% confident that I would gain more clarity. That being said, one reason I chose Denise is that her pricing model seemed in-line with others and even had more flexibility in that I didn't have to commit up-front to 6 months of coaching. She did help me understand that without knowing more about what an actual job/career would be like, it's hard to make a judgement about whether it would be something I would find fulfilling and a good fit. In the end, I am still looking for mini-experiments, or "try-ons" to learn more about my options and could have used some more help with this. As an example, when I did the "homework" assignments, I didn't feel like the feedback and follow up on the assignments was specific enough for what I was expecting. Again, maybe my expectations were off and maybe it's more a matter of fit and with someone that has a more narrow focus and/or knows what they want, Denise could be a great option.
