Actually, if you don't want to be sued or threatened with police action, do NOT use Diamond Edge Dog Salon.
In fact, if you don't want your dog abused, either, definitely do NOT use Diamond Edge Dog Salon.
We have two Goldens. After weeks of calling to get an appointment, we finally were able to get one for mid-October. On the day they were supposed to show up they were two hours late. No phone call. No message.
They started with our youngest (11 months old at the time). When the lady brought him back from the van she showed me that his ears were very dirty. And she was right. They really were. That's on me and I was guilty for not keeping them cleaner. The lady then told me to use RUBBING ALCOHOL to clean them in the future! Are you kidding me? Rubbing alcohol on soft, sensitive ears? Especially on a puppy! The poor guy was rubbing his ears and shaking his head for hours! He must have been in excruciating pain!
So, I did some research, and found that it is NEVER a good idea to use alcohol as a cleanser for a dog's ears.Â

Unfortunately, I was very busy when she brought the puppy back and I did not fully inspect the cut/groom. Big mistake.
The older - very docile, sweet - Golden was taken about half way through the puppy's session.
When she was finished, I did not fully inspect her cut, either.
Again, a critical mistake on my part.
One of the clues that I should have been aware of is the fact that both dogs were done within 1 hour! How is this possible? All our previous groomers would take at least an hour and a half to two hours for one dog! How did they go so quickly?Â
Now I know why.
On top of the fact that they had abused one of my dogs, they did an atrocious job.
All of their nails were split, cracking, and jagged.
The hair around their toes was left shaggy or cut way too short. You could see the full toes as opposed to a nicely sculpted paw.
Their tails were cut to be more like a cocker spaniel instead of a Golden Retriever.
The hair around their ears was not cut at all, remaining long and shaggy.
Their skirts were left thick and matted. It did not appear as though they were done at all. Their feathering on their legs was very jagged and did not look like it had been trimmed either.
When they were finished, I received their invoice. Well..... if you could call it an invoice. It was simply an amount written on the back of their business card.
There was no official receipt, numbered invoice, GST rate or number, no breakdown of taxes among other legal requirements. I wonder how they're actually keeping track of their sales? If they're not following these legislated mandates what else are they not doing?Â
I wonder how the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) would feel about these types of illegal business practices? Are they claiming any tax at all? What do their books look like? How much of their business is done 'under the table'?
Because we were so terribly disappointed we contacted the owners and explained our displeasure. We provided examples of our issues and that we would like to discuss reducing the charges. $270 is a lot of money to get something you are extremely upset about.
Instead of apologising, accepting any responsibility, or even trying to discuss the matter, the owners immediately blamed the whole situation on the puppy's dirty ears. They were not interested in negotiation of any kind. And they expected the payment within one day.
We tried working with them again, offering to pay half, but there was no response.
The next day we received a notification from them that they had already started the process of suing us in small claims court! They were told in order to do that they would need to make a police statement because this was actually theft on our part! They told us that they were going to the police station the next morning to make the report unless they received payment.
I was ready to call their bluff; however, my wife gave in to their bullying and just paid the full amount.
The owners, their actions, and business practices of this company are shameful and illegal. They take no responsibility for their product or services. They are rude, threatening, and bullies. Their work is subpar and incompetent at best.
As an example of their customer service, I found a five star review the owner left by the OWNER! Bias?! I should say so! How does an owner think it's acceptable to submit a review at all?! Let alone one that gives them five stars! Talk about a conflict of
