I tried these crackers in the car as we drove home. They were abysmal. They were rock hard in places and undercooked, which led to an awful starch/oil mouth feel and like biting stone. The cause is simple: the cooking oil wasn't hot enough and a couldn't care less or lazy chef who should know better. If the oil is hot enough these crackers quickly explode in size literally in 2/3 seconds of being put in hot oil so it had to be blindingly obvious that there was a problem. Even if they had been cooked properly they are still the cheapest prawn crackers and still grim. When they are like this I find them useful when I light a fire. So I thought ok if they are happy to feed their paying customers cheap rubbish what have I let myself in for with my duck and pancakes, duck spring rolls and chicken & black bean with chips. I was mostly wrong. The duck & pancakes were excellent as were the duck spring rolls (3) and the chicken black bean. Far better tasting food than the Chinese places I routinely go to. I usually take rice but this one time I got chips. A first for me from a Chinese in way over 20 years. I got chips for someone else so I only ate one and this was enough - factory made and again cooked at a lower temperature than required so they absorb more cooking oil and produce a poor tasting product - a further sign of a chef who couldn't be bothered or lazy or both. The service was prompt and friendly. So just scrapes 4 stars but if they could properly make and cook chips and invest a few extra shillings in decent quality prawn crackers and cook them properly too they could go to five stars.

I've said before, that I prefer BK fast food to Mc D as the food is more adult - tasing, especially the burgers, their onions are fresh not dried out and the french fries too are far better. BK also offer Heinz ketchup and vinegar. BK today offered a free whopper (meat or plant) no strings/no purchase required. So we asked for one beef, one plant, but no plant burger here anymore as the demand just wasn't there. We left off the mayo. We ordered and paid for French fries and a can of Coke Zero. Staff mega friendly, place was clean, seating comfy. Toilet clean. Couldn't find any WiFi to join. I occasionally think we should have tried In/Out Burger in California when we were there for a few months. We just didn't get round to it. It'll be at least four years before we contemplate return to USA (less 46 days) and if we never do it'll not much matter.

Likewise the mashed potatoes and fries too are mass produced in factories also frozen and transported to the freezers in this chain. So prep is defrosting, microwaving, deep frying and oven heating. I find their peri peri sauces - also mass produced in factories - acrid. I find them unpleasant to eat and to smell - they pinch my nose. The only attraction with fast food, junk food, is that the skinny battery chickens when defrosted are flame singed and grilled with flaccid skin on but that's about it. Cheap crap food and priced at double what it should be. It's not for me. I find the staff friendly but really interaction is limited as customers get their own drinks, get their own sauces so it's all rather unappealing and not at all appetising.
