My wife and I had an anniversary recently which coincided with our first week of CrossFit workouts. It just so happened that one of those workouts was on a Saturday at mid-day and we had planned to go out for dinner on the same day. So, we booked a massage just before our dinner reservation.
I'd previously had quite a few massages but never a Thai massage. It was quite an experience. When you first walk through the door, you're given a glass of water and you then place your feet in a warm water bath. Then, one of the ladies dries your feet and you're led to a room (a couples massage room in our case). So, one lady would work on my wife and another worked on me in tandem, effectively.
We were given what I call Thai fishermans pants (which are odd to put on but very comfortable) to put on and asked to lay down on the table. My lady worked on my legs first which kept cramping and it eventually became a joke. Too little water and potassium in my case. She continued working on both sides until she'd pretty much covered the major muscle groups as well as my toes (freaky when you hate people touching your feet) and fingers. It was pretty much bliss!
The two women we had were maybe chest high but shockingly strong and nimble. Additionally, they were really quite friendly, especially once they realized I was laughing about the camping situation too.
I would actually love to go at least once a month as these women make a Black Roll look like childs play but in a very good way. At some point, we'll definitely be back and I can also say that it was a great late afternoon well spent. read more
