I did not originally want a videographer for our wedding but I am so glad my wife insisted on it. John was great to work from the pre-event planning stages up to the wedding day itself. I only put 1 star because I had to pick something to write a review. I'm actually writing this review for services from a year ago. I wanted to wait and I just got busy. Anyway, I was planning a graduation party after I graduated with my masters in anesthesia. It was a fake "graduation party" but really an engagement party. I had it at the art museum in riverside and used the graduation party as a front to propose to my now fiancé. I hired godfather films to do the recording at the event. Initial meetings went well with the head of the company (I forgot his name, I think John). I explained what I wanted and had good input from them and thought everything was set. I met with the person actually filming that night and again went over the plan. The night was amazing, had a great time. When it was time to receive the footage, we were given DVDs with the WORST coverage I have ever seen. It was like my little sister was filming with a GoPro. The camera was constantly blocked by people, their elbows, their backs. The zoom was used in the wrong places so we were seeing people's nostrils. I can't express how terrible this was. And it was raw footage that didn't even cover the whole time. We were told were getting a video as well as raw footage. When we confronted the owner about this, he refused to fix it or give us any money back. Aside from the DVD, the footage was horrible. My friend edits videos and he asked me to ask the company for hard copies so he could put a DVD video for us to recap the night. We asked and we were sent VHS mini tape copies. My friend looked at me and said no one uses these anymore, they are extinct. In an effort to receive DVD copies, it became a hassle. Once we did get the DVD copies, we didn't even get all of the footage promised to us. How frustrating. Needless to say, my friend took that piece of garbage we received and was able to edit it into a very special video for us, even with the poor footage and terrible quality. i will NEVER EVER EVER use them again, and in fact I complain to everyone I know about them. The owner is very removed from the practice, as well as very unfair. They provided a service which was not promised and extremely subpar, and refused to help rectify the situation at all. Great videographer, worked well with our photographer and have only seen a glimpse but can't wait to see the outcome

John and his team are amazing! My husband and I planned our wedding from out-of-state, and so never actually met the Godfather Films team before the big day. But John was always just a call or email away during the planning process--always prompt and always professional. Not once did I find myself stressed or worried about our videography. Fredy was our lead videographer, and was an absolute pleasure to work with--very funny and very professional. He and his assistant captured all of the important moments and even our most memorable candid moments. Much of the time we didn't even realize they were filming! The turnaround was much faster than we expected, and the final product was truly perfect. The ceremony, reception, and highlight films are exactly what we wanted, and will be wonderful memories in the years to come. read more

I would not recommend this company. I had my wedding a few yrs ago and the video was not what one would expect. The whole time my dad, maid of honor and best man did their speech John only recorded my their face, he zoomed in and that was all you could see it would have been ideal to record my husband and my reaction but I didn't get that with any of the speeches and my husband and I were literally right next to the person, saying the speech. Godfather Films always does an incredible job in capturing every moment of your special day and then turning it into such a special video. John and his team did the filming for my sisters wedding. So, when it came time for mine, I knew there was no one else I would want to be there capturing each moment. John is truly a spectacular, kind, and talented man...along with his very talented team. He filmed our wedding on October 5, 2019 at the Summit House. The team is so professional, not annoyingly or uncomfortably in your face, and worked fantastically with our family, wedding party, and most importantly with our photographer. Our wedding day went by in a flash and even after it just happened we felt as if it were already a distant memory. So, we were so excited and thankful to get our wedding video back. We got to experience the day and see everything we missed. I'd say our favorite part of having the video was to see the emotions that day from both us and our guests and all the little details and memories made that we didn't get a chance to see during the whirlwind of a day. Great family business and I love how busy they stay an still find time to accommodate our last minute video shooting and editing needs! They are fantastic at any corporate event, party, or weddings which is how I believe they got their start over 20 year ago in the IE. Their web site is also fantastic! I was promised a new edit DVD but never received one. I have memories from my wedding with over 100 family members who all flew in to be together that were never videotaped even though it was on our shot list and godfather films knew it was a very important for us. Our family filled the dance floor for multiple dances to honor our grandparents who passed away. It was a time in our family history that needed to be documented. Kids age 1 to elderly great aunts and uncles all dancing together. Timeless. Where we're the videographers???? What were they doing???? I have photographs that the professional photographer took documenting all the videographers standing against the wall without any cameras in hand. Why weren't they working? I asked them to make sure that they were working in capturing all the moments of the event. I met with them multiple times and sent a shot list with all the important moments that I wanted to capture. There is no reason that any of them should've been standing around not working. I also have documented evidence at the videographers left early without me knowing. I have documented evidence that they admitted that my video DVD was made in a rush and it was not their best work. I was promised a new DVD but never received it. I would think that the company would like to make sure their customers are happy with their work? From the first day we met, John really took his time to explain the Godfather Films process and services making us feel 100% comfortable and knowledgable about the services. We knew Godfather Films was going to do a great job filming our wedding but when we received the final cuts of our video we were absolutely floored by the masterpiece that Godfather Films created.
