He gave a talk when I was still a student in UA&P and I was really impressed with all his works and accomplishments. He is a very inspiring person and he really loves what he does. He loves to capture the greatest stories and moments in a wedding through his camera. I have seen a number of his works and they are like short movies that should be played on the big screens. He is a master of his craft. He captures everything at the right moment and he really shows how great that wedding day was. He even makes pre-wedding videos that are really cool! He can capture the personality of the couple really well. Not only does edit these videos in an awesome way, but he also makes concepts that are really romantic, interesting, happy, or even crazy (in a cute way). I personally think he's a genius! In the future, I would grab any chance to work with him. The studio was just the right size for everyone to move around. The wide space was really good and both the model and photographer were comfortable with the set. We didn't have problems with anything and the whole shoot went by smoothly. I recommend Camera Cart to anyone looking for a good place to have a photo shoot. It's the perfect place!

Apart from the fact that its a mere 20 minutes away from my house, its location is pretty accessible because who doesn't know where Chino Roces is, right? Unlike other studios in the area, Bulb is smaller in comparison but is a great enough space for people looking to shoot catalogues, fashion editorials, or even have your test shoot in. The place also comes with lights if you need them and backgrounds if you're looking to add color to your photographs. There's also a space for hair and makeup so you don't have to worry about sacrificing space for your beauty team. For those working on longer shoots, their price per hour is also reasonably priced.

I was hired to do event coverage and took photographs of a birthday party and was glad it was held at R Space. Being located along Reposo (wow, how old am I and why am I calling it Reposo?), parking was quite a challenge. It's wonderful that they have valet services, so I made it on time. I could say that the venue is quite nice, despite the low ceiling at certain parts. There's also a small private room that could be used as holding area, but that day was used by no one else but me. I was told that the small room can be rented on it's own for meetings and small gatherings. All in all, it was a good party and the guests enjoyed themselves singing along to Side A and dancing to the beats of the DJ that carried on after. As for me, well, I'm just happy I was able to again take photographs and capture memories.

But if…read morewe're talking about spots that go against the grain, Gara-eh offers a totally alternative scene, and I'm not even referring to the genre here. Garaeh is a LOT of things. Run by super friendly artist couple Yvette & Om as well as a couple of their friends, this place is a community of sorts that focuses primarily on music. Firstly, Garaeh is a space. It's literally a "garahe"--an outdoor garage that's filled with art and curious things. They, as well as their friends, host music gatherings and gigs here. Aside from an events space, they primarily offer rental services for music equipment for events. I HIGHLY recommend their music equipment rental as they do have a complete set of equipment at good rates. They also offer music classes (drums, guitar, voice, keyboard, etc.) for people of all ages, even music-appreciation for babies! Inside Garaeh is an electronics repair shop as well. What else? Occasionally they also do sell vegetarian mock-meat via their small project 'Ngitian Kitchen'. Their mock meat liempo is really, really good. Events aren't regular, as well as the classes or the veggie food, and you can't just barge into this place unannounced. It's best to stalk them online to see if something's up or if there's a gig to catch. If there is, do drop by as you're in for a unique and interesting treat.

Made up of five reconstructed Spanish colonial era buildings, it reminds me of the shopping area around Mexico City's Zocalo, although on a much smaller scale. We walked around Plaza San Luis a couple of times during my trip to Manila, both to absorb the ambiance and to get lunch at Barbara's and shop for souvenirs. I didn't love the restaurant, but the plaza was lovely. There was a stone courtyard with an old fountain that was particularly attractive. If you're visiting Intramuros, make sure you drop by the Plaza San Luis Complex. I don't know about all the individual businesses, but the area is quite pretty.

I was lucky that someone was nice enough to take me here, as I am pretty sure I wouldn't have come across this place on my own. Plaza San Luis is a great representation of Spanish colonial architecture that luckily has survived and has been revived into a well-maintained establishment that houses smaller stores, a restaurant, and a museum. Those establishments do deserve reviews on their own, so I would really, really love to talk about how beautiful this courtyard is. It's amazing how this place has retained so much of its old-world feel, with all the plants, the fountain, the stone walls and floors--it's all in the details. It's no wonder that this place is now being offered as an events place that can be rented for special occasions. You can actually do a bit of exploring. You must go up the staircase and see the majestic view of the whole courtyard from the top. It's really beautiful. I really do hope that this place remains well-maintained and taken cared of. It's a gem of a destination that our history and culture cannot afford to lose.
